I was at your store this evening (Pleasant Ave, Fall River), and a young man (20-ish?) with dark curly hair and glasses was working the register. His mask was not fully covering his face when I got in line. Right before I got to the register, he took off his mask. I reminded him when I was at the register that by state law in Massachusetts, they must be worn for the health and safety of all. He said "OK" and proceeded to ring me up. He did not replace his face mask. I asked him to replace it, he said "OK" and did not replace it. He said he just took it off, and it was his decision. I asked to speak to the manager. After completing my check out, he called the manager. She came over and was wearing a face mask. I told her about the situation, and she said she would take care of it. However, I did not see her go to the employee to address it. I left. I came back 5 minutes later, and the same cashier was still working and was not wearing a face mask. The store closed a few minutes later. This is unacceptable. The state order is in place to protect your employees AND the customers. However, if employees will not follow state law, I will no longer shop at your stores. Perhaps this young employee should not return to work until after the crisis is over if he cannot comply with state law (and I am sure your company policy). read more
