This is far and away the best drugstore I have ever dealt with. The staff says "Hi, welcome to Walgreen's" as soon as you walk in. A small thing, but a sign of a store focused on its customers. The pharmacy has gone out of its way to be helpful, and as a frequent customer my name is remembered and I am greeted by name. Importantly to me, the pharmacy staff speaks an English I can understand (not true of all other Fairfax stores). The non-pharmacy section is large and has always seemed to have everything I would want. read more

This is for the pharmacy...if I could give it a zero stars I would. I used to go to the pharmacy at least twice a month for prescriptions until some of my pain killers (vicOdin) and muscle relaxers were replaced with tylenols...there was nothing I could do about it either because it was a few weeks later till I even opened them or realized it. It was not on,y me that had this issue either... I have spoken with a few people that have had the issue....looks like someone in the pharmacy dept has an addiction issue and is ripping patients that really need the meds off... Great customer service. They cancelled my photo order in late December (on backorder due to big sale). That day they tried to transfer the order but other stores were also out of stock. They called yesterday to let me know it was in stock and they would honor the original price. Magnets were made quick and looked great!! Thanks for remembering us!! read more

I went into Walgreens this morning to pick up a prescription for my husband. There was a problem with it. Bob and Brian C., both pharmacists at this location were extremely helpful. I knew Bob from the Rite Aid in Fairfax that recently closed. Brian went out of his way to find a solution for the problem. He called and spoke with someone in the pharmacy department with my insurance carrier. He was put on hold twice, but stayed on the line with them to rectify this problem. It was resolved in about 15 minutes. Brian also assured me that this problem would not occur going forward. I cannot say how much I really appreciate the professionalism, concern and customer support I received this morning. Brian C. went above and beyond to help me out. I wish that more folks took their jobs and customer service this seriously. I would recommend this pharmacy and these two pharmacists to anyone. I will go back to this pharmacy in the future. I absolutely love this store! Its always clean and organized (unlike CVS), they always seem to have what I want in stock, and sometimes they actually have some pretty good sales. The employees are friendly and the managers seem like they are willing to go above and beyond to help their customers out with whatever they may need. I get my prescriptions filled at this Walgreens, and for the most part I am pretty satisfied with their pharmacy staff as well (although one of their female pharmacists could stand to learn a thing or two about manners, politeness, and over all customer service. I have only seen her there twice though so maybe she is no longer with the store.) I've never had a long wait to have my medication filled, nor have I had any crazy insurance problems come up that the pharmacy staff couldn't take care of. If you're still stuck in the old school dino days of using CVS as your pharmacy (I used to also,) I seriously suggest you at least head over to Walgreens and take a peek at their pharmacy counter and maybe walk through the rest of the store even if you dont buy anything. I purchased several GreenDot Money Cards from Walgreens and they were already used even though they appeared to be new in the store. It looks like the cards were already either used by some employees or the company must have sold the cards and Walgreens didn't both to vouch for them. I have been trying since July 2014 to get some response from Walgreens in Herndon and no one will respond. I have out over $1,000.00 and the store will not refund the monies. Don't purchase any Gift cards from Walgreens as they will simply not be responsible. read more

I have literally never written a negative review on Yelp or anywhere else (though I often write very nice ones), but I am at the end of my rope with this place. I've experienced an utterly rude and incompetent staff every time I have visited this store. Today they made we wait for more than 30 minutes to do a return. The manager was MIA for the first 15 minutes (the sales associate rolled his eyes at me when I asked after 10 minutes if she was coming and told me that he would not go in the back to make sure she heard the call - I would just have to wait). Perhaps she was in fact handling something else and was delayed, which is fine, when she got there she refused to refund my card because it had been more than 30 days (which is also fine, but I came to this store prior to 30 days and no one could process my return the last time I came) and then took another 15 minutes because she couldn't process my store credit. Not once did anyone apologize and they just acted like I was an inconvenience. Another time they didn't bother to let me know they didn't process my photos because they ran out of 4x6 paper, which was really inconvenient because I needed them for a baby shower I was throwing the next day, so they told me they would call in my order to the Walgreens at the other side of town and that I could drive over to pick them up there in 30 min. When I arrived at the Nutley St Walgreens, 45 min later due to rush hour traffic, they had gotten no call, knew nothing about my photos and said that I was the 4th person to show up claiming the same thing. The guy at the Nutley street location was very nice and apologetic. I have gone back time and time again (only because it's located close to other places I frequent) and every time I go there they are worse than the time before. Never, ever again. Ever. read more
