I have been standing in line inside to drop off an Rx or pick one up and the phone is ringing "5 pharmacy calls....minutes later...6 pharmacy calls". No one answers the damn phone. I have been on the opposite end of this, too. 2 hours and 16 minutes on hold before I end up hanging up. Crazy how terrible they are with their phone-call customers.

I came in here the other day to get my 2nd shingles vaccine as I got my 1st one @ a CVS back in Las Vegas & knew that they would have a record of this because I wasn't sure of the exact date of when I did get my 1st shingles shot. The lady @ the pharmacy counter was very nice & was able to pull me up by my name & DOB. I had to update my insurance info as my plan changed the first of the new year. It was very busy when I stopped in here on a Thursday afternoon around 4pm. I didn't schedule an appointment for my vaccine as I was having trouble connecting to the CVS app. I tell ya the Verizon cell phone service in this area isn't the best. I was able to get my vaccine as a walk in even though it was busy. Jaime the pharmacist was the one who gave me my shingles shot. He was very friendly & nice to chat with. He gave me my shot without any issues (yes, the shingles vaccine does hurt! As I tell patient's "its not the needle that hurts its the medicine) & I had told him how I use to work here in my 20's. The pharmacy has grown as I counted probable about 5-6 people behind the counter. The store has even grown too. I have found that it has gotten more crowded with aisles/products, as if they put more in this store. There isn't much room to move down an aisle if there is someone else in it too. I did get my coupons from their coupon machine & did some shopping based on what coupons I had. I do find CVS to be more expensive than Walmart but with the coupons it helped by lowering the prices of some of the items that I wanted to buy. I did go to the self checkout (which I hate) & did have some problems with scanning my items but one of the employees came over right away & helped me fix the issues. I do find that it can be a pain in getting out of if you park on the smaller parking lot side so I went home the back way then trying to fit to get back out on islington street.

I called this pharmacy hoping with it being local, they may have stock of my medication. Apparently, theyre unable to give out any information unless my prescription was already with them. So i would need to waste my time AGAIN and just hope they had the rx as its already been 3 days without it. They seem to have a larger supply of cosmetics than other locations I've been in. The pharmacy hours are very reasonable. They don't have a drive thru which would be nice. My interaction with pharmacy staff so far has been pretty basic -- not particularly helpful but they weren't outright rude either (which is becoming more common w pharmacy staff as work conditions are deteriorating). They had no cashier at any of the registers at 6pm on a busy Saturday night. They have 3-4 self checkouts that were open and needed to be used. There was a line to checkout. I gave up trying to use a coupon on an item because I needed to leave and couldn't wait for help to magically appear. The checkout I was at didn't allow for cash back when using a debit card. That was unusual and disappointing. Maybe one of the other registers does have that feature but you'd have to study the signage around the checkout area (which is very cramped and has a lot of information posted all around it). If you have the CVS app, you can order items online and then just go in to pick them up. If you're not getting a prescription, that'd be my suggestion. The parking lot is free and is a busy area. At night it is lit but it would be better if it was brighter. Because it is close to downtown Nbpt there are certainly folks on foot and bikes so be careful. This is one of the only CVS' that I will actually go into. For some reason, the customers at many of them are just not pleasant people. Why they attract stressed out, rude, and/or annoyed customers I don't know but that's been my CVS experience and part of the reason I took my prescriptions and business elsewhere. Life is hard enough without having a stressful experience for simple pharmacy/convenience store shopping. Of course there is a pharmacy and the usual assortment of over the counter medications and remedies. But the rest of the store is an explosion of toys, junk food, clothes, booze, beach thingies and souvenirs. Many things seem to be just randomly put where ever there is room but this method seems to work just fine. Just walk around and you will eventually find what you are looking for. Colonial is definitely a beast from the past that managers to survive in the world of modern, sanitized and organized drugstores, probably because of the beachy and touristy environment of Kennedbunkport. A pleasant and very cool place that will probably have what you are looking for.
