I want to be fair and say something positive first: earlier today, this Walgreens received my refill request and had it ready within an hour. I appreciated that and was grateful for the quick turnaround. But tonight, when I rushed there to pick up insulin for my diabetic cat, the pharmacy was closed at 7 PM (according to a note taped to the pharmacy drive-they window) even though their online hours clearly say they're open until 9PM on one site, and until 10PM on a different site! No update, no warning, nothing. That mistake put me in a terrifying situation. This wasn't just an inconvenience; it could have become a medical emergency. Pharmacies have a responsibility to keep their hours accurate so people can rely on them in urgent moments. I truly hope this gets corrected so no one else goes through what I did. read more

Marginally better than the one at St Johns Lane, which mercifully closed, but service is slow. I signed on to the website to check refill dates and found they had randomly refilled one prescription. I do have autofill turned off, as that is a scam to sell an extra month's worth. Also, it seems a huge step backward to now seal all scripts in plastic bags. Haven't they heard the world is drowning in plastic waste? Obviously the decision makers have double digit IQs. read more

This is the most disorganized and slowest pharmacy I have ever patronized. This has been my primary pharmacy for about 3-4 years and it is always hit or miss with the service. Today was the last straw for me, went to pick up my prescriptions at the drive through and was the 4th car in line. Nobody was getting their prescriptions at the drive thru so after 10 minutes i pulled out of the line and went inside. Their is no sense of urgency and the pharmacy staff lacks courtesy. After 20 minutes( total time inside and out) i was waited on. You lose a couple of customers its one thing, you lose too many and you're out of business. read more

I had a horrible experience here last week with a pharmacist Paul. This pharmacy was the only one in the area who had eyedrops for my six-month old son who I had with me. I arrived ten minutes prior to closing time to ask them to fill the prescription, but the pharmacist immediately started yelling at me for 10 minutes straight saying he couldn't fill a prescription for me until they actually closed. In the time he took yelling at me, he could have filled my prescription. He even told me that he should never have told CVS (where I originally went) that they had a supply of eyedrops, insinuating that he was going to lie about what they had available so he wouldn't be inconvenienced. It was one of the worst customer service experiences I ever had in my life. Do not go here, go across the street to CVS. read more

The pharmacy here is a disaster. I've never seen a more untrained incompetent staff that handles medication in my life. They have absolutely no idea what is going on. There computer systems never seems to work for insurance information. If you fill out anything online it never gets saved and you have to fill it out all over again. read more

I came from NY and forgot to bring critical dog meds with me. Walgreens (the one at 10097 Baltimore National Pike in Ellicott City, MD) was amazingly cooperative with my vet in NY and came through, filling the prescriptions. The pharmacy staff was patient, understanding, empathetic, and caring. Hats off to Mahin, especially, who was fantastic. read more

Waited hours to get a common antibiotic filled. Finally filled, go to the pharmacy in the pouring rain with my 1 year old in the car, drive thru is closed. Go inside, line at the counter is 8 customers deep. Thank goodness the baby has the patience of a saint, otherwise she would've made everyone's life hell. read more

As you read through the reviews and realize that the pharmacy is absolutely a mess . The staff is non existent , the lines are very long as well as the wait times . The drive through is always unattended . No one is stationed at the drive through so you wait and wait and wait till someone comes . When you do go into the stores the first thing you notice is the disorganized way things are being done. The shelves of pharmaceuticals are in disarray . Some drugs are sideways , inside down hanging off shelves and it leads one to wonder if a big mistake is just moments away with the wrong medicine being pulled because the housekeeping standards are so poor . This is the poorest run pharmacy in the area and why it isn't or hasn't been improved is beyond me . It would seem I will move my scripts to Safeway or CVS close by. read more

Hello, on Tuesday January 30th at 3pm I was at the Walgreens pharmacy on centennial lane in Ellicott City inquiring about my mental health medication. I am switching from Kaiser permanente to United healthcare as of 2-1-2024. The first two ladies were not able to find my name in the computer. A young lady came and told me she was the pharmacist , Elisabeth, did find my name in the computer. Elisabeth refused to call the Pharmacy at Kaiser Permanente to have my prescription transferred, she told me that it was INAPPROPRIATE for her to do this. Even though I explained to her that both Kaiser permanente and united Healthcare staff told me to just ask the new pharmacist to make the call and get prescription transferred. Elisabeth told me she can't help me and told me to leave. She then called security over the intercom system. After that everyone in the entire store heard our conversation, because she never hung up the intercom receiver. So embarrassing and humiliating! I started to feel sick, sweaty and weak. Elisabeth screamed at me that she will call the police if I don't leave. I told her that I needed to sit down and I went to a bench near the pharmacy counter and layed there until I felt better. No body from the pharmacy checked on me to see if I was okay. I was laying there for 20 minutes. On my way out someone told me that Elisabeth is not the pharmacist. I spoke to united healthcare later that day. Again I was told to have the pharmacist call Kaiser Permanente pharmacy. Disappointed in the lack of customer service especially the pharmacy. Going to look for a more caring pharmacy!! read more

This pharmacy is a complete disaster. Grocery carts full of unstocked medicines. Lines almost always long. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Sometimes you are led to believe that you must use Walgreens when in fact you can usually go wherever you want. You MIGHT pay a little bit more but it's worth it read more

This Walgreens is not ready to distribute the new Covid 19 shot. I had to fill out a form that was already submitted online. I was told I needed to print it before coming which is not the direction online. There was no one actively giving shots. At 3:32 PM the 3:10, 3:15 and 3:30 appointments were still sitting there. Clearly the appointments were double booked because I also had a 3:30 appointment. There was no sign that anyone knew what was going on or that anyone there was prepared to start giving shots. I walked out with my two sons with no idea of when or if our appointments would be honored anytime soon. read more

Bought a bottle of aspirin that expires in two months. That's never happened to me before. Also bought three 2-liter bottles of diet Dr. Pepper; on the shelf they were marked 3 for $3. Unfortunately, instead of getting a paper receipt, I get it in e-mail, so it wasn't until later that I realized I was charged $2.49 each. I'm done with Walgreens. read more

I had surgery yesterday morning and I was required to have a Covid test beforehand. I was told by an employee that I would have my results back. I just received my results last nigh, and I understand that things can get backed up. My issue was with the lack of help I received from pharmacy staff. customer service was horrible and when I tried to get a prescription filled they told me they didn't have it. Came to this Walgreens located on Rt. 40 in Ellicott City while visiting another store. This was by far, one of the best Walgreens I have had the pleasure of visiting. It was spacious and well-stocked. This is my second very unpleasant encounter with the same staff member. I was in the process of choosing a lotion and already had a full cart of items for purchase. The associate came up to me and said that in a rude way as if I owed her something "these are not samples, these are not samples. thank you!" and walked away. On previous occasion, this same associate was very short, rude and refused to look up items on sale in the coupon book. Every time I see her, she appears pretty miserable and angry. I have been floored the three times I've come in here -- service is very fast, the stock is good (and maybe because it's still shiny and new, the Clearance section is devlishly well-stocked!), and the most important: a super fast pharmacy. I can't underscore this enough. When picking up meds for a very sick human, I was able to get it WITHIN 15 MINUTES of the prescription being called in. This is a stark contrast to their "across the street neighbors," where I've had to wait sometimes for even multiple days because of their downed systems or understaffed pharmacy. The customer service at this store was terrible. There were three people behind the counter talking to one another when I walked in and not one of them greeted me. This was my first time at this location so I did not know where anything was so it would have been helpful for one of them to assist me, which certainly did not happen. After walking down the same aisles several times I decided to put my items back and leave the store. As a customer I should not have to teach customer service. Filthiest bathroom I have seen, other than small remote gas stations and portapotties at marathon races. Urine overfow from urinal, fesces all over the toilet lid, no paper towels in the dispenser (a role was on top) trash overflowing, and a dirty sink. Why would anyone go to this store for a vaccine or any other procedure that requires a modicum of sanitation? Employees use this bathroom (1:15 pm). Do they just ignore it? Isn't a pharmacy retail store supposed to be clean? Last time at this store. CVS is much cleaner, and it is across the road. read more

The store called to tell me that the promo code was "fake" so they would not honor the code even though it was accepted and advertised by Walgreens.com where I placed the order. I followed up with Walgreens customer service and the rep told me the promo code was valid, and they weren't sure why the store would tell me it was fake. read more

I came to this store for one thing. The store is clean, well stocked, but the staff took forever. There were two registers, and two employees working the registers, but one of them was carrying on a conversation with yet another employee while I waited. And waited. And waited. Finally it was my turn. (the customer ahead of me had lots of questions and a complicated order.) THEN the other employee opened up the register and took the next person in line. That is how I knew there were two employees working the register. But this is the reason I will NEVER return. While I was in line (I was in line for a very long time) a man spoke loudly from the floor, twice, "Young lady! Young lady!" I am 60 years old, and assumed he was speaking to a young lady. There were a few there. He continued, "Young lady, I hate to say this, but.." and this man, the MANAGER, came up behind me, PUT HIS ARM AROUND ME, and proceeded to comment on my attire. It was insulting, humiliating and infuriating. I left, not wanting to make a scene at the time. How does anyone dare to put their hands on a stranger for any reason, and especially to insult their dress? I will call Walgreens today to file a complaint. Clean and well stocked is fine. Not worth the treatment at the hands of the obviously inept, tone deaf and inefficient manager and staff. read more

Had a 9am appointment for 2nd COVID vaccine and got an email confirming the appointment the night before. Showed up 20 minutes early to a sign saying they were closed. No explanation or suggestions on what to do. Several other people showed up for their appointments and never got an email saying they were closed. Vaccines are supposed to be given within a certain time period and people are left to figure something else out. Good thing CVS actoss the street has walk-ins starting at 10am. read more

I handed in a prescription at 3PM, was told it would be ready by 5PM. By 6:40PM it was still not ready. The pharmacy closes at 8PM, and I need the medication to begin tonight. The store is extremely clean and well lit. The first time I went into the store I was greeted by the customer associate at the front. My experience was positive. However the thing that sets this location apart from the other stores in the area is the pharmacy. When I needed a prescription for my daughter, I brought in the prescription and waited literally minutes to have it filled. The technician brought it out and asked if I had any questions. I did and he quickly brought out the pharmacist who knowledgeably answered all of my concerns. In summation, the pharmacy sets this location way above the rest and is the main reason I will be coming back frequently. Another thing is that I asked the process of transferring prescriptions which the technician told me that they would take care of and they did. read more

I usually don't write reviews, but this is something that shouldn't be ignored. I shop at this Walgreens due to the clean facility, and today I went to go purchase some allergy medicine. I went with my boyfriend who isn't very fluent in English, and while I was checking out, I spoke to him in our native language. After seeing me speak to my boyfriend, the employee goes, "Are you speaking to me?" in a very rude and ignorant manner. It was as if she didn't want to hear me speak in a different language. When I questioned, "Why would I speak to you in my native language if I spoke to you earlier in English?" she replied, "Oh, I wasn't sure if you were speaking to me or not," again in a very rude and ignorant manner. I didn't want to continue to speak to someone THAT ignorant, so I walked out and called the store to file a complaint. I found out that she's the store manager. Finding out that she's a store manager surprised me even more, since she would be in charge of training the floor staff members to customer service. I have called the Walgreens headquarters and filed a complaint on her. Now, despite the store's clean facility, I will NOT be shopping there. I'll be shopping at the CVS right across the street from there. read more
