I mean it's a Walgreens... Do they really vary that much besides whether one is a little older or newer? Or maybe if they have limited hours are are open 24/7? My brother and sister in law from Northern Iowa were flying out of Des Moines IA en route to help move my nephew and his wife back from El Paso TX as his enlistment in the Army was ending. Their daughter had driven them to Ankeny. I picked them up from there, drive them to their hotel on the South side, and we were hanging out a little the evening before their flight. Both use CPAPs and had forgotten to grab distilled water. I ran them for their hotel over to this Walgreens to get what they needed along with a few snacks and stuff. It's probably a little older location and could use some TLC in areas, but they have a great selection of items and service was fine. read more

This pharmacy is seriously understaffed and adversely affects those needing prescriptions. I saw my Dr early in the AM, and he called a prescription for antibiotics to this pharmacy. By late afternoon, I had not received the expected text to pick up my prescription. I called and was told there was no prescription in the system. I called my Dr's office thinking it was a problem on their end, but it was the end of the work day and someone had to investigate it. I was contacted early the next morning by my Dr's office saying they had re-sent the script (and verified the pharmacy and location). This was around 7 AM. By nine, there was still no prescription for me in Walgreen's automated system. So I called and finally talked to a pharmacist. She was quite rude, informing me that there were 37 prescriptions in her in box and she would not look to see if mine was among them. An hour later, when Walgreen's still did not have my prescription in their automated system, I called the Dr's office and requested they send the script to a different pharmacy. I got my prescription with no issues from Medicap. I will not be using the Walgreens on Fleur for any prescriptions going forward. read more

Opening Statement: I don't write poor reviews until I have had multiple poor experiences and this review is based on the pharmacy operations only. For one, this pharmacy is either tremendously understaffed or incompetent. I have Walgreens rewards and phone/email addresses tied to their system. I have gotten notifications telling me scripts are ready, shown up and told the prescriptions are not ready and "they had to complete them in the system so they don't get dinged on time service". Many of these scripts were for children who needed medication right away due to colds, flu, etc. I have filled scripts here and told they would be ready in a few hours, called back the next day even and been told they never had enough on hand to fill them in the first place and referred to other local Walgreens. As far as customer service goes, horrible. Most recently I was at the point of checkout, and was entering in my Walgreens reward number when a pharmacy lady rushed in and said, "I have to cancel your transaction so I can check out this old man". How demeaning for the senior citizen. So after that happened and feeling awkward I waited and heard about his entire prescription (meds I wouldn't want to be shared out loud), him disagreeing with the amount and spent about 15 long minutes hearing about his medical coverage etc. All the while I had no apology and had to shake my head when the poor senior citizen looked at me in embarrassment. Again, I don't do this often, but after so many poor poor experiences I am taking my business elsewhere. I guess though, what can you expect from a big box pharmacy? read more

My midwife sent in a script I need and I waited in their horrible drive thru line for 10-15 min, just for the lady to tell me "pull around, we need 10 more minutes." Ok that's cool, so I got back in the line, waited 15 more minutes, then when I got back to the window, there was a different lady who said 15-20 more minutes but she was SO rude. And when I asked for a manager thinking he may be able to get the ball rolling, he gave me every excuse in the book and I was just balling with my daughter in the backseat. No empathy at all and they were so rude about it! I was nice the whole time because I don't like confrontation! I called customer relations to complain, and when I received a call back from Walgreens this morning, I got a very cold apology and all he wanted to know was if I wanted my prescription filled or not. He didn't even acknowledge my concerns. read more

Pharmacist and people working in the pharmacy were very rude. Waited 45 minutes for a SCHEDULED shot. I understand businesses are short staffed but at least apologize when you're running behind! I will not be returning!! read more

great location near the airport. Was able to quickly get in and out with my goods. check out can be a bit of a delay if there is only one open, but they quickly opened another check out when things got backed up. read more

Always very nice and helpful when I am there. The pharmacy is super busy but I have never had to wait more than just a few minutes for service. Have gotten good advice from the pharmacists and they track your prescriptions well. Sometimes the front register is a bit backed up but again - not bad. Good selection, prices and things are pretty easy to find throughout the store. the store is CLEAN - which I have found some of the walgreens not to be so that is very nice. read more

They are very rude at this Walgreens pharmacy. They laugh at customers over the phone, and yell at them in person. They told my doctor's office that a prescription was ready, and then claimed to me to have not been told about it. They seem irritated that they have to wait on customers. They all just seem really unhappy, and they take it out on the customers. read more

Found what I needed right away. Good customer service, had two people offer me help while I was there, and the guy working one of the checkout counters was friendly. originally it was one long checkout lane, but another worker opened up a second lane. read more

I'm not a Walgreen's regular but unfortunately there is a product that I buy on a regular basis that the HyVee on Fleur doesn't carry (Headslick shaving lotion) so I'm forced to stop in here. This place is never really "busy" but it seems like every time I come here the people running the cash registers have no clue what they are doing, which, of course creates a line at the ONE register they usually have going. I stood in line last night for five minutes waiting for somebody to buy a carton of cancer sticks and the register operator had no clue where they were at. In the meantime a line gathered behind me and all the while a manager and another guy stocking shelves paid no attention at all to the line of six people standing there. This isn't the first time I have experienced this ineptitude either. Do yourselves a favor, shop across the parking lot at HyVee. Unless you're like me if you have no reason to go here I would suggest never finding a reason to. read more

I walked in one evening not long ago to buy some medicine for my stomach. The pharmacist was dealing with a very ill woman. He ended up calling 911 and impressively took control of the situation. I was very impressed with his keeping cool despite numerous onlookers and other customers waiting for his help. The woman was taken away on a stretcher. At this point, he was a bit shaken and took a minute to regroup. Just was nice to see someone care about the people they serve. read more
