I really should have done my research before even booking an appointment for a Covid booster here. I've only ever come in to pick up a prescription or that one item in passing. EVERY time, there's an insane line - could be the pharmacy, could be just waiting up front at the register. It's absolutely terrible. Today's visit took the cake - there was a homeless/panhandler SLEEPING in a wheelchair inside the store by the front door. This place is understaffed always & today was no exception. My appointment was for 5:30pm & I was told the person who can do them went on break. I'd have to wait until 6pm. I wish I could say this was a joke but it was not. The staff looks just as flustered & confused as everyone else. To be fair, as I waited, I've watched multiple customers yell at pharmacy staff - just yikes. If I hadn't taken PTO for this "appointment" I would have left & scheduled elsewhere. As others have said, do not come here. Walk-run-drive elsewhere. TDLR, had an appointment for a Covid booster at 5:30pm, wasn't seen until well after 6:30pm & wasn't given as much as a sorry by the pharmacist. I'm having a tough time with the rating here. I don't want to give them a low rating because of one pharmacist I interacted with. The cashiers, the photo reps and the people who do pickups are all still REALLY personable. I (naively) thought if all the other departments are this easy to work with, including doing FedEx drop-offs, surely the pharmacy is too. So even though I never had any problems at all with pharmacy pickups at the Western location, I asked my doctor to switch to here. Why? Cause they're so great that I stopped shopping at the Western location about three months ago. (While the Western staff is cool, two of three managers are too hot and cold for my taste.) I kept seeing the low reviews for the Clark Street pharmacy and completely ignored them. The lady I spoke with in the morning to transfer my prescription was pleasant and exactly how I ranked the rest of the staff. But the guy I talked to that same night left me on hold for 15 minutes without ever even waiting to see if I could hold. When I finally jumped in after the sixth time he tried to put me on hold again and said I just had one question, he started telling me how busy he is in the store. Again, I repeated I only had one question. (It would've taken maybe a solid two minutes maximum to answer it.) This turned into a back and forth with us talking over each other, him yelling "CAN I TALK?," me apologizing because my headphones were going in and out, and a total mess. He asked for my birthdate, and then he kept talking over me every single time I answered his question to the point where I was yelling back "CAN I TALK TOO?" I was so fed up with him that I refused to speak to anybody but a store manager. The cashier claimed they didn't know who was in pharmacy. The (new) photo tech claimed he didn't know either. They either didn't want to admit who the guy was in pharmacy or they were not allowed to leave their stations. Eventually, they came back with his name, but I was so fed up that I submitted an official complaint. My prescription is something I can easily get a week or two now and is not a rush. But if his attitude with me is like this and I could take or leave the prescription I'm filling, I can only imagine how he interacts with people who are depending on their medication. I came in the store the next morning 100% intending to tell them to cancel the whole order and send it back to Western. But once again, I heard that same nice lady from the morning before. She was night and day from the guy who worked evenings. I went into the store ready to be as combative as he was, but she was so delightful that I changed my tune almost immediately. So I don't want to give the WHOLE store a bad review because of one guy (who reminds me of the two hot-cold managers on Western). As long as I don't have to interact with him again, I'm cool. read more

That pharmacy is the worst. I dropped off a prescription and instead of them filling it, they had it sitting there for 2 days. They told me that because I didn't have insurance they didn't fill the prescription. I said I was paying out of pocket. They say I should have told them when I dropped it off. Why would I drop it off if it was not to fill it. Some I changed my mind and went back to get my script. A different person took care of me never asked why I wanted it back or nothing. This was one of the main pharmacists. So disappointing since it is so close to me. And what is up with those refrigerators being down for months?! read more

The Walgreens at 7450 has its challenges...a constant stream of panhandlers outside, shoplifters, and a mixed clientele as this store services a mixed area of some of the best and the most challenging people in the city. Despite this, I had one of the best, most fun shopping experiences here yesterday. Phinesse was my lucky draw of a cashier. I won't type the crazy story of me buying candy I thought was on sale and how she and her incredible supervisor, Nelvin helped me, but they were gracious, friendly, personal, gave me the sale price, easily adjusted my receipt and took the time to make sure I'd had a happy experience at this store. It worked! These two work in a difficult environment and still had big smiles on their faces, gave me personal service and proved that a routine visit to some run-of-the-mill shopping, can catch you off guard! Walgreens is very lucky to have these two. Make sure if you stop by 7450 N Clark Street You tell them you read this review - these are nice people working hard to give customers a good experience! read more

This Walgreens pharmacy used to have very nice and friendly staff until a few months to the day. Yesterday, I had my first bad experience I understand that it closes at 9pm. I arrived to pick up my prescription around 8:40pm. When I arrived there was only one client who was being taken care off, I waited there for almost 15 minutes since the guy was asking a few questions to the pharmacist. After being waiting there for 15 minutes as I previously stated the pharmacist not only walk away without even asking me to wait or excuse himself but he just disappeared from the place and next thing I see is him walking out the door to throw away the trash. When I realized he left I walked to the front desk and check and see if someone was going to take care of me and this lady jumped in when she realized I was standing there for another 5 minutes. After she rang me the other pharmacist who initially was there when I first arrived he came back to help another person. Was he trying to avoid me? He could have at least asked me to wait until he came back. This is not professional! I understand that we may have crazy days but hey at least let the clients know to wait. read more

This store is a hot mess as far as staffing. The pharmacy is a joke, expect to be in line 30 minutes. For anything! For my Covid booster, I completed the online form and showed up early for my appointment, knowing the wait was going to be ridiculous. Once at the counter I was told I needed to fill out the same questionnaire I had online and get back in line. I explained I had already done this online and was told "oh, we can't print those out". So another 30 minutes in line to be told the pharmacist was at lunch and get in the queue by the door. Another 45 minutes to be seen. There are usually 6 to 8 people in line at the front checkout, with one cashier open. Oh, and do expect to be panhandled on your way in and out. This location is close to my home, but I recommend to take the time to travel to the burbs, it's a much better experience. They get two stars because most of the staff are pleasant and truly trying. read more

The pharmacy staff are nice, but SO UNDERSTAFFED. It can literally be a 20 minute wait to pick up prescriptions that are available for pick up. It can be 30 minutes. The app will tell you your order is ready for pick up, and that they will not stick it for more than 5 days, and then you wait in the loooooooooooong line, and NO! They don't have it! I feel a lot of sympathy for the staff here. They are in a position that good service is impossible. Would this pharmacy be able to catch a mistake, notice conflicting medications, have some sort of oversight on your overall pharmacology? I wouldn't count on it! read more

Not terrible but not great. The pharmacy has a line and a several minutes wait most times I come here. The staff is helpful and friendly but shorthanded most of the time. They have bilingual pharm techs which is nice. The store staff is friendly but they are also short-staffed so the register lines are often long. The shelves are pretty well stocked but they seem to run out of sale stuff frequently. I've picked up online purchases here and they seemed mostly clueless about the process. Maybe they've gotten better but I haven't bothered since then. They've done a crappy job of clearing their sidewalk when it snows (required by city ordinance) in the past. I've almost fallen several times. There's frequently panhandlers by the door but I've never had an issue with them. Lots of businesses in Chicago don't seem to take any action against it, so that's not a plus or minus to me. read more

This pharmacy needs to hire at least 5 more people. Every time I come here, I wait in line for about 15 minutes, only for the pharmacy to tell me my prescriptions aren't ready and it will be another 30-60 minute wait. The staff does their best with the resources they have, but there is not enough employees to handle the amount of customers that come through that store. Also, the drive through is no better, but at least you can sit and wait in the convenience of your car. read more

I went here for a covid test which was supposed to take place by the drive thru. A note was posted on the drive thru window stating to come inside. I stood in line inside by the pharmacy with other people who were checking on their covid sympoms for at least 10 minutes. When I came to the pharmacy they told me and the person in front of me to go back out to the drive thru and ring the bell for the test. So why was a sign not left on the drive thru window stating this to begin with knstead of haveing possible covid infected people wait INSIDE the store? I told the manager; he was clueless. read more

The guy with the fade haircut at the fedex/photo area was fantastically helpful. Some of the apps/QR code were not working properly, and he absolutely figured out a workaround solution that only someone with true dedication to their craft could manage. He also helped like 3 other customers while we were slowing down the line, in order to keep things rolling. A+ day at Walgreens. read more

I can tell you four things about this Walgreens: 1. Their parking lot is a blind-turn nightmare. 2. They do not sell windshield washer fluid. 3. They sell yesterday's newspapers, in case you want to be 36 hours behind the rest of the world. 4. Their electronic sign is very handy. At night it displays the address of the nearest 24-hour pharmacy. During the day I have seen it display weather alerts such as "Flood advisory until April 30 8 am." Where to start: I have a very common generic migraine medication that I take. It's the only thing I can take. It's currently backordered. For a week plus now they have not told me it's backordered (and will be for a few months), just that "it'll be in soon". I have no other medications I can take. I finally demanded to know -when-, was told I'd get a call back shortly. 5 hours later, I called again. At which point, I was finally told it would be up to a couple months (apparently there's a supply issue w/ one of the ingredients). No apologies for leaving me hanging for over a week. Then they had the nerve to suggest I get a prescription for a medication that I'm deathly allergic to instead. An hour later, someone else from the pharmacist called and said "oh, your prescription will be here in 48 hours". I said, really, because an hour ago you said it would be months. Sudden backtracking, they were just returning my call for the sake of returning my call, they hadn't actually verified that they were calling me with correct information. Again, no apologies. Just "oh, yeah I hadn't checked the information before calling". Then there's the aggressive panhandlers -inside- the store that follow you around, and the ones that stand right by the door and sometimes block your egress. I'm very leery of shopping there at night after being followed partly home by one of the aggressive panhandlers. They have the ability to move people away from the entrance and ask people to leave the store that are harassing shoppers, but they choose not to do so. This is two minutes from my home. I go out of my way to really anywhere else, to avoid shopping here now. read more

Don't go to Walgreens for PCR COVID testing. It's been 48 hrs and still no result from my drive through test. This is either a 30min rapid test or max 12hr standard test. No way should it take more than 24 hr to get COVID tests results these days. Walgreens gets two stars for making testing accessible, but this delay almost makes it useless. This Walgreens is persistently filthy and crowded with long lines. Today around 8 pm the line was past the cooler section with only one register open while the manager chit chatted with someone in line discussing an incident with a thief. Very disrespectful to the 8 people standing in line behind where he was gossiping. The poor solo cashier had no help. When I complained to the cashier he stated they were short staffed. Meanwhile, there was a manager doing nothing. This location needs to do some hiring because they're usually low on stock of all items. People are looking for work. This again points to poor management. Rush hour should be fully staffed. I've never seen a Walgreens this poorly run. I'd rather travel to Target than shop here because finding what I want is hit or miss due to no stocked shelves. read more

I have used the pharmacy here for over 20 years and would have rated it 5 stars. But now the phone number goes to a call center located who knows where. To try to talk to a pharmacist they have to transfer you to the store. It puts me on hold forever. Seems you can't actually reach the pharmacy by phone. If anyone knows the secret direct number to the pharmacy please post it. I'll be changing pharmacies soon. read more

Only time I come here is out of convenience. Sometimes it may be worth it to go a little out of my way and to another location. When I stop by to get few simple items it's usually fine. The service is a hit or miss. Delt with great costumer service and with some downright bad one. Different workers and different days will obviously result with different behaviors.I haven't used their pharmacy, so cannot speak on that. read more

I used to use this pharmacy and switched. This location would never have prescriptions ready for pick up when they said they were ready, would lose prescription orders all together, and if you go here you can bet you will be waiting in line forever and a day. Also, if you get one particular employee she will talk to you forever about your horoscope before actually helping you. read more

My wife went there shortly after a snow storm. Street parking was covered in deep snow and only parking lots had been plowed so far. She bought groceries and then went across the street for a bottle of wine. She left her car for five minutes because the street parking by the liquor store across the street was snowed in. When She came back only five minutes later the Walgreens security contractor had placed a boot on her car and extorted her for $170 to remove it. The wanna be ticket he wrote clearly states he watched her leave the car in the lot. It takes a real piece of work to sit in a parking lot and spy on people to extort money on technicalities clearly designed to protect the parking lot from people leaving their cars there for longer periods of time. Please DO NOT give this Walgreens any business until they change their security practices. read more

This review gets the five stars because of The Cashier Roxie. ROXIE: Super sweet, quiet gal who seems to always know what is in the weekly coupon book. She keeps the coupon book next to the register, as most cashiers do, but Roxie always goes a step further and scans the coupons relevant to my purchase. Every time I come here to buy a few somethings, she knows which of the items are on sale and scans the coupons in order to get me the best deal. I come back to this Walgreens because I know I'm always getting the best deal possible. read more

This is one of the worst Walgreens. One employee however sticks out as a courteous, hardworking, and knowledgeable individual. Ambrosio is always helpful. When I have a question, I often look for him because I know it will be handled correctly. It could offer some tips to his colleagues on what good customer service is all about. After 15min of waiting some women picks up I explain what I was told and she said I can't help you. I beg to differ, she was rude as hell. Do not get a covid test or covid vaccination here. Last time I booked an appointment for a booster and waited 2 hours past my appointment time to have it done. I scheduled a PCR today. The pharmacist asked why I was here, a answered for a covid test. He asked which one, I said a PCR test, the one you get back in 48 hours. He spent 15 minuets asking me questions and putting paperwork together, then handed me the papers to get a vaccine. After I said again I am here for a test, not a vaccine. He made me wait outside for 30 minuets in between cars in the drive through of the store for the test. They are making people wait outside in the Chicago winter for over 30 minuets to have a covid test done after they require you to schedule the appointment online. Again required to be scheduled online, they did not allow me to schedule in person at the store either. They also have been out of a prescription for nearly two weeks, I come in today to ask about it again and they have the medication in stock and have not filled the prescription for two weeks. This pharmacy is not even close to acceptable and they make mistakes every single time I have in here wihmth the majority of orders. read more

Unfortunately, the doctor's office I go to is not responsive, so relying upon the pharmacy to call doesn't work. A store i n Lakeview, at Clark/Diversey never got a response and after a while, didn't follow up. Can't say I blame them. But this store just seems a bit off. read more

The review is pharmacy only....seriously, otherwise I wouldn't even walk in this place. I feel sorry for the people who work here. These are the worst customers I've ever had the displeasure of waiting in line behind. Every transaction seems to be fraught with confusion and tedious delay, rarely ever the cashier's fault. However, their pharmacy staff are AMAZING. I have never had a bad interaction with the staff here, ever. Recently, I had a problem with refilling a medication due to an error on my insurance's part. Jessica resolved the problem quickly and efficiently since I was almost out of my medication completely. She even says, "Be well" to the customers, which I think is a nice gesture. Love this pharmacy. But, I try never to go into the actual store. Unless you have a lot of time on your hands to wait in line behind 10 people, who are all borderline asylum level crazy and apparently get up to the register before deciding what they want to purchase. Never mind that they just spent 10 minutes in line waiting there turn, that time was not sufficient for their needs. You have been warned. Just try walking in to buy a soda. It will be the most tedious 15 minutes of your life! read more

I usually like this one; the pharmacists are generally really patient and nice. My one complaint is with the drive through. There are times when I have sat at the drive-through window for 15 minutes without being helped. Marc A. is right, there are lots of panhandlers here. For pharmacy only!!!!!!!!!! Best. Pharmacy. Ever. Everyone is efficient, patient, knowledgeable, and very nice. They also have a sense of humor. They always want you to pay as little as possible for your prescription and will help you find programs that will do that. I love everyone there. :) read more

The bad things out way the very few good things about this Walgreens. 1. Store Management allows - very aggressive pan handlers to harass income and outgoing customers. 2. Store Employees are either rude or unfriendly 3. Store Pharmacy - has issues when filling correctly or completely online or automated prescriptions over the phone. 4. Only good thing is its close to my home, but rather go to the Walgreens on Western just off Howard. read more
