You guys are loosing costumers because y'all need to coordinate the merchants there is long lines every-time I'm in there

Apparently Walgreens stop selling liquor at 12 which is fine, but there was liquor behind the counter that I wanted. I was in line before 12 to ask for it behind the counter. The cashier was talking to the customer in front of me until 12:02. When I was next to ask for the liquor she told me I just missed it and I told her she was talking to the man until 12:02. She said u have to be in line with the alcohol which was impossible because it was behind the counter. Then as I purchased my last item and started to walk out she said last call for alcohol really loud. I guess she was trying to be funny but the audience didn't laugh. She's very rude , unprofessional, and ignorant. I couldn't get her name, but she was older woman glasses and a curly Mohawk . Definitely won't be back thank you ! read more

- Waited in line on Monday afternoon April 7 for an hour only to discover my prescription sent by doctor earlier that day, has not been started. Was asked to come back the following afternoon 3 pm April 8, only to be told it has not left the 'warehouse' yet. - the floors have not been swept, merchandise on shelves of regular items are all scattered and in disarray, there was only one pharmacist and two cashiers for a line of 20-25 people. Some customers have a whole shopping bag of prescriptions and they ask the cashier for dosage information instead of getting that from their doctor ahead of time. - I got to observe all these things because it was really a long wait and that's very often when I come to this location at various random hours. read more

The absolute worst. I spent about 45 minutes on hold today and got disconnected three separate times when attempting to resolve a very straightforward Rx issue. I can't imagine how this place stays in business. Total disrespect for their customers. read more

One star to give rating. This is for the pharmacy department. Horrible customer service given by, I'm assuming, pharmacy tech named Erica that was working on 12/16/23 at around 11:40am. Employees being hired by Walgreens should really be trained on how to respectfully speak to customers. It's employees like these that give Walgreens a bad reputation. read more

Going to add my two cents and give this place one star like other more recent reviews. I used to enjoy coming into this store years ago. It USED to be well staffed with pleasant, helpful people. I had to look for help twice today. Both people I finally found looked like managers. I got the feeling that I was bothering them. They are probably just understaffed and overworked, but I have gotten used to really good service other places where I shop (unless it is another Walgreens!) and such poor service is disappointing. 2018 and this store has the same problems I'm amazed it hasn't been shut down lines are long as if you were in Walmart but this is Walgreens it's supposed to be pharmaceutical convience store. Just ridiculous that the lines pharmacy and the front registers are an aisle length long with no sense of urgency. After this I'm switching don't care about it 24hrs this store is trash! read more

Always beggars outside and you can't enter or exit without being solicited. Pharmacy lines are horrible they are always so long you are standing in an isle (while looking at the empty chairs for the clinic). I remember being sick and just sitting on the floor to wait. The worse pharmacy in the city. They do not care about them community. They will never answer a call and when one shows up, they will make senior citizens stand in line for hours all while having an attitude. If you must go there please go there with plenty of time as they do not value your time. Super disgusted with my experience here and it has been more than four or five times of this has happened. My apologies to retail workers that being said I don't understand why there must be an attitude when clearly it's poor management and not the customers fault. I got 2 meds from the pharmacy. I requested to consult with the pharmacist about the medication. I asked her if I should take the medication with or without food. She looked at the meds and said it doesn't matter. I got into my car and took the meds there because I really was not feeling well. Once I got home, I read the information packet about the meds and they both stated to take the medication with food. Since I did not do that, I felt dizzy and nauseous for the rest of the day despite eating after I read the instructions. I get it. The pharmacist is tired. I did get the medications late at night. But if you don't care or can't do your job correctly, you should not be working as a pharmacist as you can be giving out wrong information and ultimately putting people's life in danger. read more

Severely understaffed or management is terrible at coordinating their employees. I had to wait over an hour to get my prescription. Only one person behind the counter scramming to help everyone. The front register is always super crowded and only one or 2 people at registers. It's so frustrating, a simple 5-10 minute shopping experience shouldn't take an hour of my time. Located on a busy intersection, this Walgreen's has a medium sized private parking lot, with lots of business! Come nightfall, it looks a nightclub as cars circle around waiting for you to pull out and leave, they literally need valet parking at this location. Aside from the scandalous parking situation, this Walgreens is normal, safe like any old Walgreens. read more

I called to speak to a pharmacist about meds that were sent to the wrong Walgreens. Once someone at the pharmacy answered the phone. She quickly asked me to hold. Before I could respond she just said thank you and put the phone down. WITHOUT PUTTING IT ON HOLD... the person who answered put me on hold at 11:30 pm for 8:45 only to gossip with her co worker. & Not because she had to assist any customer at the desk. Yes I sat there and heard the entire conversation. Great job Walgreens. Excellent customer service! NOT!!! read more

The pharmacy is terrible. I needed a prescription but I rather stay in pain and wait for tomorrow to go to target pharmacy. I was in line for about 10 minutes and line was not moving. I just got frustrated and left. I live half a block from there but instead I have to go to target because their service doesn't compare anything to this place. read more

One of the worst 24 hour Walgreens to visit . Pharamacist tech Elizabeth very rude and unprofessional and confrontational, and making unnecessary facial expressions and laughing while communicating. Pharamacist Hughes very unprofessional in appearance ,none caring to needs of patients. I printed pictures and made small booklets they offer in their app, once at the store to pick them up the booklets had the pictures upside down and most of the pictures were off , like missing half the face or body , quality of the pictures also real bad like faded , costumer service terrible , bunch of their worriers standing around and wouldn't even ask if I needed help, from now on I will take my business some where else. I wouldn't recommend this place . read more

This place is always packed 24/7. Ever since they remodeled it, it seems like they acquired more customers. They even tore down 2 houses to make a larger parking lot. There's always a line in the photo section, in the front registers, and even in the pharmacy, ALWAYS! it's frustrating having to wait so long to check out and there's usually only 2 registers open. read more

I give credit to the people who handle the check out counters and the workers as a whole with one major exception. The pharmacy! Perhaps the slowest laziest and most careless pharmacy on the south side!! Simply put they take forever to fill a prescription and to make matters worse (according to some people I know who frequent this place) the pharmacists sometime say " oh It will be ready tomorrow" but nope they flat out ignore that promise and instead you have to wait another day! Just to pick up your medicine and in some cases they may give you the wrong medicine! I advise anyone who lives in the Gage Park neighborhood or anyone around the area to steer clear of this Walgreen's if you are in need of a prescription to fill. However stop buy if you want chips, deodorant, or condoms but nothing else. I don't normally write reviews but this time I have had it. I have used this 24 hr pharmacy for years and can dismiss the fact that it is always part and only have one person working at the counter. What upsets me is the lack of communication and care the pharmacy has. I have a prescription that renews every month, and at times they have changed my pills to a generic brand. I have noticed i do not react well to the generic but luckily they gave me back the original pills. Well this week I go back to pick up my usual prescription but when I get home, I notice they gave me again the generic! I had to take the pill since I have to take them in time but today I called the pharmacist to see if I could exchange or just purchase my original pills, the pharmacist claims they are out of stock and to check with other Walgreens. After 10 mins of calling different stores, finally found one only to be told I can only get it at my original pharmacy! I call back here believing I could order my pill only to be told that I can't because of my prescription has to be renewed and I had already opened my pills. Well of course I had to! Can't stay without taking them, and I was told they would call my doctor and insurance to see and I would get a call back....never did. Very disappointed in this service, you are dealing with people's health and they don't care. First, no disclosure about the change and then not to offer any help. IF I COULD GIVE THEN A ZERO I WOULD!!! After being a loyal customer of Walgreens at 55th. and Kedzie for many years I have decided to stop giving my business and my money to them. As usual I was in there this evening purchasing some last minute items and wondered into the cosmetics aisle. I picked up a lipstick and was unsure if I was going to buy it or not but yet had it with me. Before I checked out I put it back in a different aisle. I went and checked out spending more than $50 bucks worth of items. As I head for the door I was confronted by the assistant store manager who placed himself and the security guard between me and the door. Asking me in a loud voice if I had a lipstick on me. Telling me he saw me walking around the store with a lipstick. He asked this in front of customers all looking at me like a criminal. I informed him I had left it in the aisle and he asked to be shown where. I walked him to it and told him this was total bs and proceeded to show him where it was. After he saw he was wrong he did not apologize he said it was his job and walked away. I left the store but as I reached the parking lot I got really burned up and came back to the store. I asked to speak to the manager who did not apologize either and all she did was state that is the training he received. I told her they need better training. Got my refund and will never ever be there for as long as I live. The manager did not apologize instead she validated his actions. Lost this customer for ever. Need better training ..... I can't imagine what he would of done had I tried to walk out the door and not give him the time of day. read more
