The techs in the pharmacy department are quite rude. They offer poor service with a poor attitude. I would highly recommend the walgreens in the South Loop at Roosevelt Road and State over this one. read more

Never in my life have I felt more disrespected than the time I visited the 151 N State St store last night. I suppose my biggest mistake was in assuming that when a stores hours state they will be open until 12, that that would mean they are open until 12. I know most other large stores give customers a grace period of 10-15 minutes after closing as a time for customers to finish up the remainder of their shopping and to check out without feeling pressured to leave the store immediately. One security guard in particular, by the name of Kwame, was indefinitely the rudest person at this location-- as he shouted that I had four minutes to "make it down stairs" at the same time it was being announced over their intercom (as if I didn't have ears of my own to hear). In addition, he proceeded to follow me around the upstairs section shouting and whistling for people to "leave the top floor." I had originally only ran back upstairs to return a product I decided not to buy as a favor to the employees of the store and to make sure it made its way to the proper place. I returned the item and made my way to grab the individual item I forgot, but feeling pressured by the guard decided it wasn't worth being screamed and whistled at for, so I made my way downstairs. He approached me a second time and thought it was necessary to throw in his two cents- stating "yeah, I think it's about that time" even as I was making my way to the escalator. Noticing my frustration in his banter, he found it humorous to follow his statement with a sarcastic "How YOU doin?" He followed behind me to the check out lane and even stood at the registers laughing and mocking us for having finished up in the last bit of time left. I will say that this is not the only time I have felt bombarded by the ignorant, negligent, lazy, low class people this store has chosen for hire-- and not the only time I've seen the employees hurry to finish up with a customer in order to talk and laugh with the other employees, but it will certainly be my last. Maybe it is because this is a new store that they haven't quite gotten it right yet but this store definitely needs some attention and I know that I, for one, will now be instead shopping at the city Target down the street for everything that I need and if the Target is closed I would rather wait until the next day before stepping into a store that makes me feel more like a foolish victim than a welcomed consumer. read more

This review is for the clinic specifically. I walked six blocks in the cold with bronchitis to this clinic during my lunch hour. I signed in using their automated computer, and it said I had two people ahead of me. I sat down to wait, and the woman who registers patients opened her door and simply pointed at me, no smile. I gestured to the girl beside me since she was there first. The employee rudely said, "no, I want you. I know what I'm doing." Geez, God forbid I be polite to the girl ahead of me. Oh, and hello to you too, I'm doing just fine, thanks. I walked into the registration room where I wasn't even greeted just curtly informed that I would need to wait over an hour to be seen because they are going on lunch. I told her I had to get back to work, and that I could be in and out before their lunch in twenty minutes; I just needed some antibiotics. I couldn't wait over an hour to be seen. (After all, your clientele are business people in the Loop! No one had time to wait over an hour. Good job catering to the needs of your customer base!) She was very apathetic, and told me too bad, this is the way it is... That I would have to wait. Her cold demeanor and disinterest in her patients just made me angry. I told her that if they break at one pm, then the registration computer should notify me of that immediately. Or how about a sign at the front door letting people know the clinic is closed for an hour?! How about SOMETHING that conveys the message in a kind, courteous way that let's the customer know not to bother signing in or waiting unless they have the time? Of course they're entitled to lunch like anyone else, but then communicate your lunch hours to your customers, and in a polite way! She was so rude, that I just turned to leave. She showed no interest in keeping me around as a paying customer. Heck, she probably hoped that I'd take off. It was a really lousy experience and their customer service skills leave MUCH to be desired. I will never return to this clinic again, and will be sure to tell my friends and coworkers what a joke this place is. read more

First...please know that I am a fan of Walgreens...most of their store locations are excellent. However, I have been to this "flagship" location twice and I don't think that I will be returning except to stay on the first floor for their food options. Most of the staff is friendly and helpful. However I have decided not to return due to lack of customer service. One, there is no one to really help a person in the cosmetics department. My first time in the store I actually had to complain to a manager....something I rarely do....because the two ladies in the leased cosmetics area told me that the rest of the cosmetics section was not their area. So getting help was challenging...even though when she did come the manager was outstanding and very helpful. Also, why is buying a bus pass so complicated? Why can't they be kept at the front of the store? After buying a bus pass I needed to wait for awhile for a manager to come up front with one. Other locations keep them at the front registers...what can't this location? Also...it seems like the price points of non sale items are a bit higher. This location has a lot of HQ people that come through so if they stop just talking to each other and analyzing their endeavor from an observation standpoint and start asking customers what can be done to increase the shopping experience this place can be "the" location that they hope for it to be. read more

So, I have been a regular customer at this particular location. I loved going there, it was fairly convenient for me since i live in the building right above it. today at counter 5 i had the grave pleasure of experiencing a very rude person cashing me out. She first stood their with an attitude watching me remove my sparkling ice bottles from the cart and placing them on the counter , after i was done she very sternly asked me to place them nearer to her . which confused me since they were already near the scanner. when i proceeded to replace all of the bottles and other items i bought she told me "you don't have to place them so aggressively " i was baffled! i have never had someone give me so much attitude when i did nothing to erk her. she proceeded to scan them haphazardly and splatter all of the bottles on the floor. i am not sure what this girl had against me or her job that was making her so impatient and disrespectful. i think the next door 7/11 will be my stop from now on. i don't care for the fancy stuff they sell anyways. this was a really unpleasant experience for me. i have never had such a rude person helping me cash out. sorry Walgreens.not the best customer service i have seen in 7/11 , target, jewel osco , whole foods and trader joes. next time i know where to take my business. read more

This is the best darn Walgreen's I've ever been to, an exciting new business model and I wish that the Walgreen's near my home was like this one. For that reason I would give it 5 stars. Alas, I am here for the curious who want to learn more about their nail spa. I was similarly intrigued and excited when I noticed the posh little white and pink spa nestled in the corner of the second floor and booked an appointment for a no-chip manicure. For the uninitiated, it's strongly suggested that you make an appointment. You pay for the service beforehand at the island, and bring the receipt to the lady giving your manicure. They do not do pedicures. To echo Molly O. I did not get a finger soak or cuticle trim. I did notice some white bowls stacked on a shelf, and wondered if the soak was only for regular manicures but I guess not. The lady at the other work station was far more inspired, inviting her patrons to a nail event and handing out free samples. My lady didn't make a similar effort with me, which made me feel a little envious of the service the other was giving. I looked at my nails this morning. My 30$ no-chip did not survive the week. I love love love the store but I will go elsewhere for a manicure. read more

I thought this was a great concept when I heard all of the hoopla and decided to go check it for myself!! Well let me tell you, there is nothing special about it and at the end of the day it's Walgreens no matter how they dress it up. The staff looks very unhappy, as I was standing in line I noticed an employee (maybe a manager?) reprimanding another worker. This is unprofessional to do infront of customers!! Don't you all have offices or meeting areas to handle matters like this? Next, the store is filthy and it makes me question the sushi and sandwiches because of the foul stench that was coming from the sushi area. I then decided to venture to the upper level of the store and they have a beauty store with some ok products, again staff up there didn't look too enthused either but I decided to try on makeup - not impressed with the products for the price. You're better off spending that money across the street at Macys! Then I noticed the back area where they do nails I heard some people say they've had bad experiences then just reading the other reviews confirmed what I've heard so I opted not to try it. The pharmacy area looked pretty decent and clean but all in all there was nothing the store had to offer that had that wow factor for me go out of my way to shop there. read more
