The Pharmacist is really friendly, helpful and remembers who people are. It actually feels as if you are visiting a small town pharmacy, and this is especially rare because the loop is full of so many people that go in and out all the time. Now serving Ramen!!! This is my second time having their Ramen. Serving both Shoyu and Tonkotsu style ramen. Located at the same stand that makes sushi, which is also my go to for good sushi at a good price for lunch. The broth for their ramen has so much flavor and you really don't need to add anything to it. It's filling and it's delicious. The staff is very friendly and they make it right there in front of you. I liked the Tonkotsu more, but the Shoyu I tried today was very good also. Pretty much can't go wrong with whichever one you order. The roast pork they serve with the ramen is super tender and very tasty. Highly recommended to stop by for a quick, affordable lunch if you're in the area. This is the absolute worst Walgreens ever. Not only are they rude and uneducated with their speaking manor but also sloppy in dress as well. Also be prepared to pay 7 cents if you want a bag for your purchases. Yes that's correct I went in spent 30 dollars and then was refused a bag for my items. Yes REFUSED is the proper word. I was spending around 100 dollars a week here. It was my spot for break time but not anymore and I hope this review sways people from going. I'd give it zero stars if I could. read more

OMG! I have been on Yelp for a bit, but after being in this store I had to write a review finally! I think I am in love. I came on a lunch break on Thursday and was surprised to see this mega Walgreens. First thing I noticed was the sushi and because I am a dare devil I dived right in. Yum! I had the crunchy shrimp roll and it was amazing. After polishing it off I went upstairs to find a Take Care clinic, which is a good thing to know. Turning the corner I found what they called the Look Boutique. Wow, there were a lot of products I had never even heard of, but the ladies explained what they were and where they came from. Then, I found the gem...a nail salon!!! It's so cute! And all the polishes are either Essie or OPI. And it's $10 for a manicure!!! When I asked if I could get a manicure I was told by one of the manicurists that they were working by appointment only just till the hoopla died down, but I could try to do a walk in at a later time. After making my appointment for a later date, I was about to head out when of the manicurist caught me and told me she had a no show and could take me then. I had an amazing manicure with Stacy, who informed me of the Walgreens/ Look Boutique history. She also helped me understand why my cuticles are in a shambles. As I was drying she recommended I return next week to help repair the damage, but didn't force product down my throat or put me down for neglecting my nails. She even recommended seeing her or the other nail tech, Katherine, for future appointments. I already made my appointment with Katherine for next time, I wanna see how they compare because Stacy was pretty good and had me in stitches. Cons: Booking system is not put together well, but its a new concept so I had to forgive. The food is pricy and there is no home goods section from what I can find. I will be here a lot so we will see if all the kinks work themselves out. read more

My experience from a couple weeks ago... I'm a regular jo shmo, working a 9 to 5. I don't make $135 an hour but i like to think that my time is still valuable. I called the Walgreen's on Dearborn and Washington cuz I needed passport photos taken. They said "sure, come in!" I walk over in the pouring rain. The tech takes me in the back. She has a camera that's from like 2004, yes back when Brad (that beautiful bastard) was cheating on Jennifer. Anyway, the tech's trying to take my picture but the camera's not letting her. Turns out, the SD card is full.... And she can't delete the photos. And they don't have another SD card. And they don't have another camera. And what the fuck. it's 2016, i should be able to go to a walgreens and get my passport photo and pap smear done at the same time by a robot that looks like a Kardashian. Pretty sure they already have this technology in Tokyo. So i'm annoyed, I really need those pictures today. I ask them to check with the State and Randolph location...if I can get my photos done there. They say, "sure, come in!" I walk over to that location in the pouring rain, my body still recovering from last week's vicious bout of influenza or Ebola or whatever. The tech takes his sweet time coming over with the camera. We take some pictures, I pay for them and I wait for them to print. Except they don't print. They don't print for awhile. Something wrong with the computer or printer. I ask for a refund and leave. So that debacle cost me half an hour of my day. This precious half hour could have been spent buying shit on Amazon that I don't need or throwing shade at models on Instagram. But alas. Later that day, i went to the Walgreens on Michigan and Washington and FINALLY got someone competent to get my photos taken. Get your shit together, Area Wal-greens! read more

The store has everything and then some. It's nice that you can get fresh sandwiches, juice, and coffee, but it's laid out terribly, and it attracts Too many wandering tourists that don't know why they're there. IT'S A wALGREENS people, not a site attraction! Get what you need and get out. So it's crowded. Also, the wine and every other liquor is downstairs. I'm assuming they think everybody is an alcoholic? I was in there for makeup. My intuition didn't tell me to go upstairs. I kept looking past the wide selection of wine for what I needed. Very nice and sleek looking Walgreens...better than any I've ever walked into. I was in town for Lollapalooza and this was our stop for pretty much everything if we needed either a quick bottle of wine to take back to our room, sunglasses, Honey BBQ Lays, or sunscreen. The nail salon upstairs looked nice and the huge food selection and alcohol section downstairs was great. They even had a small clinic upstairs if you got sick. The lines went pretty quickly though, even with the large Lolla crowds. There is also a pretty decent unisex bathroom in the SE corner of the 1st floor, by the way...it was a life saver! Haha. The place was very clean and things were easy to find, definitely recommend if you're on State St and need something in a pinch. They seem to be open pretty late, too. read more

Cheated out of my money. Would not recommend getting your passport picture taken here. Awful quality, didn't even have the right equipment, and the passport agency ended up rejecting the picture that was taken by Walgreens. Went back to the store asking for a refund or store credit and was only given "rewards points" for 1/3 of the amount I paid. Then they had the nerve to tell me that it was my fault for not noticing that the picture THEY TOOK was not up to the US passport agency's standards. You have no right to tell me this if you're advertising that you offer passport photo services! Go somewhere else for passport pictures! The Walgreens itself is huge, clean and pretty much amazing, they have everything...except fresh jalapenos. The staff was all very pleasant and helpful. Plus you can get a mani, sushi and wine! However, I came for the Healthcare Clinic. Even though the doctor (?) I met with was pleasant, it was a complete and total waste of almost 2 hours. I got there and was told that everyone was on lunch and would be back within 30-45 min. I chose to wait because my options were limited at that point and going to another clinic to wait 2 hours sounded ridiculous. All I needed were some eye drops for my pink eye (yes, adults get pink eye). After waiting a good 45 minutes I met with the doctor lady, we went through about 10 minutes of health history questions and what not. All for her to inform me that there is nothing they could do for me, they apparently don't give eye drops to people over the age of 2. HUH? WHAT? Whatever...so I basically just wasted a good 2 hours of my day. Will not be going back to that Healthcare Clinic. Ill stick with the one in Old Town. They give you eye drops. read more

Checked out the new flagship Walgreen's on opening day. Was disappointed to see that the promised "International Newsstand" wasn't international at all, unless the inclusion of Financial Times and the Spanish language free weekly Hoy somehow counts. And the prices were a little on the high side. But other than that, was pretty impressed. Two levels and a good variety of pharmacy and urban grocery store staples, plus they've got an extensive wine selection. Lots of good quick food offerings, including pre-made sandwiches and made-to-order sushi. Overall, a welcome addition to the Loop. read more

Stopped by during lunch to get some of their delicious sushi. There was no spicy mayo. I asked a guy at the food counter if he could assist me. He said that he couldn't go behind the sushi counter. When I went to checkout, I asked the manager if he could assist me. He said no, we can't go into their space. None of the condiments are left out so their is no spicy mayo, no sriracha, no sauce....just soy sauce and chopsticks. This was truly disappointing. The manager said that they can't go into the sushi space. It's store policy. I was very disappointed. He didn't offer an apology or any further assistance. Luckily, I can eat the sushi without the spicy mayo and I still purchased it. $8.95! Either add the condiments or leave them out for customers. read more

The first time I Stepped into the Walgreens flagship I was in awe of the new features like the fresh food, FroYo, and overall increased selection. It is definitely convenient and helpful. The only gripe I have with this particular store which keeps it from being a 5-star rating is the price. If you take a random sample of items from this store and compare it to the other stores around the Chicago Loop, you'll find that this store is considerably more expensive than the others. If the prices were adjusted to at least match the other stores, this would be a 5-star establishment. read more

His insurance company completely ruined his week and prevented him from getting medication. The staff was incredibly kind and understanding, even though he became very emotional. Every time I am downtown I try to stop in this store. Today I went there to have a sushi snack. Then I decided to take a look around and was shocked to find 2 pair of really cool flip flops with bling on them. I had just visited DSW and other stores and could finding nothing in my size. Guess it was meant to be -- because there they were, just what I had wanted. And they were only $7.99 a pair. You just cannot beat that. So far, the quality is every bit as good as what I saw at DSW for the same type of shoe. They have cushiony arches, too. I live by a Walgreens. It's dated, run-down, and they never seem to have what I want in stock. This flagship Walgreens location is the exact opposite. I seriously make special trips out here to buy stuff I can't find anywhere else because, chances are, they'll have it. I just ran in there yesterday to get a refund for a coupon I forgot to use and with the new week's sales involved, I ended up making about $5. (Pretty successful trip, if I do say so myself.) About a month ago, a friend of mine texted me she was craving onions, and since I was out, could I get some for dinner? I was nowhere near a grocery store so my first thought was "Flagship Walgreens." Turned out to be the right choice. They did have a reasonable end-cap featuring your staple fruits and veggies, but when I asked a worker if they had onions, he went to the back stock just to double check. Sadly for my friend, her onion craving was going to have to be put on hold, but I managed to find a few goodies here (as always). Will be back for more. read more
