I've always been a CVS over Walgreens girl but this is a pretty good Wags when I'm in a jam. Plus, they do UPS pickups. Most recently I was brought in as my packages were re-routed here after being unable to deliver. Worked out really well for me! I could pick them up whenever, this Walgreens has a parking lot, super fast & easy to pick up, plus the staff is so friendly. Really pharmacies are a dime a dozen but the staff is what can really make it up above par for me. This Logan Square Walgreens succeeds in that. I'll be staying true to my bae CVS but if I gots to go to Walgreens, this will be the one. read more

I'd give them zero stars if it was an option... I worked in the medical industry before and we would normally call medications in before a patients surgery, which clearly isn't the case here in Illinois. But any way my mother had 5 medications for pick up after her surgery. She was discharged at 2:30 pm. I came straight to the pharmacy to pick up her meds because she was due for a medication at 5 pm and I wanted to make sure she had it in time. I get there around 2:45 ishh and only two meds are available. They tell me the total and then I ask if it was with her insurance added. They stated they didn't have her insurance added and then they struggle to add it then turn around and say that her coverage hadn't started. At this point I'm Just annoyed and get on the phone with the insurance who then call the pharmacy to tell them that the insurance is VALID!!! This was around 3:30 ishh.. after that the pharmacist that the insurance called tells me the turnaround time for the meds was an hour and half. I asked for it to be sped up because my mom needs her meds by 5 pm!! It is now 5:11 and I'm still sitting here waiting for it! Literally worst experience ever... Walmart was better than this ! read more

Pharmacy called me twice to tell me separate medications were ready, they weren't ready both times. The pharmacy assistant or whatever told me the pharmacist was on break and could give me one of my meds, I said, I've been here 3 times in the past two days to get my meds and you've messed up every time, they had the audacity to say "pharmacists get breaks too, same time everyday" well next time tell us when the pharmacists break is? I'm switching to CVS. I've had multiple problems with this pharmacy and I'm done giving them chances. Final straw was today. I needed to pick up a medication that was partially refilled for a couple of days and that I had already paid for. With no warning the pharmacy was closed for the day. Because they could only give me a couple days to begin with, I am out of my medication. I work in healthcare on the weekends and won't be able to pick it up again until Monday. 1 star for the RedBox outside of this Walgreens. There is always a line! The couple in the picture I posted took 15 minutes to pick a movie, which says a lot about their mental capacity seeing as there are only around 50 options to chose from. Bring a book or portable chair and an old sock to cover your mouth when you inevitably will howl out in frustration. read more

I used to stop in here all the time to grab a drink, but never again! They now have installed screens over the doors with ads, so you have to open the door to try to see what drinks are inside. Most of the time, the shelves are empty!! Absolutely not worth my time and overall a horrible experience. Every time I go here there's a problem whether it be an hour long wait, delay in prescriptions, or they somehow stock the only brand not covered by my insurance even though my insurance covers literally almost everything. Terrible pharmacy management. New father here -- I set an appointment to get a TDAP booster, showed up on the day, waited through a long line, and got told "we're not doing that right now, maybe come back in a few hours". I get that things don't always go to plan but not even an explanation or an apology. Not great for anyone with a kid or job, let alone both. No option to set a firm appointment. I've had MUCH better experiences with the Walgreens pharmacies at Belmont & Kimball and Fullerton & Kimball. Skip this one, at least until the management changes over. read more

At first I was shocked and surprised that no one had yet added this business... but then I realized it just opened yesterday. Yep, I'm a super Yelp nerd! So I've decided that I'm making this place my new personal pharmacy. I vow to organize all of my scripts and give them to one pharmacy to keep track of everything. So yesterday I found myself at the new, awesome Walgreens that's three blocks from my house. Super convenient for all of the lovelies in Logan Square because this is within walking distance of tons of houses and apartments! So, anyway, here I am ready to organize all of my scripts and make this MY one-stop-shop for everything pharmacy and drugstore. This place was sweet! Honestly, it's one of the biggest Walgreens' I've ever seen. Everything was super organized, clean, bright... everything I want in a Walgreens (or drugstore, really). I'm sure a lot of the niceness has to do with the fact that it just opened yesterday, but that's OK with me. All of the employees were engaged and seemed really eager and excited to help everyone who came in. The pharmacy area was really nice and different than other pharmacies I've ever seen. There's a nice waiting area with some of those blood pressure stations and literature for you to read while you kill time waiting. The pharmacy employees were all really nice and helped me with everything that I needed when I filled my script. The photo area was large and had a ton of stuff for you to do (like printing machines, scrapbooking programs, etc.). This Walgreens had the largest grocery section I've ever seen in a drugstore. I know they're not supposed to be a drugstore, but there were a lot of groceries. Also, tons of coupons since the store has just opened. I got a pint of ice cream, a D'igornio pizza and a 12 pack of Coke for $10 - awesome! Oh, and did I mention this is Walgreens is environmentally friendly? There's signs up all over the store about their recycling program, recycled water usage, etc. AND there's two parking spots for environmentally friendly cars. You go, Walgreens! read more

While I feel weird giving Walgreens 5 stars (as I would give Walgreens overall about a 3), this is the most pleasant Walgreens I've ever been to! It is clean, well-stocked, and the cashiers AND pharmacy techs have been nothing but friendly and helpful. For example, my tech gave me a lot of information about my medications that I hadn't even received from my doctor, and he was kind and quick. Also, many of the sale and clearance items are still available... I'm accustomed to Walgreens being out of their sale items. This place is sooo much more pleasant than CVS (though wouldn't it be nice is they carried alcohol...) I hope they don't get jaded like some other Walgreens I've been to.... read more

This is hands down the most efficient and friendly pharmacy in Chicago. A 15 minute estimate on wait time to fill a prescription usually means 5. When they are extremely busy they actually make use of multiple registers and have staff to pull this off, it may the only location where this happens in city. Brand new and clean, with a "W Market" I've never seen before at Walgreen's. I am ecstatically thrilled to have one in walking distance of my apartment!! My previous option was driving down the ever-congested Western Ave. to the ever-expensive CVS. One star off for still not carrying alcohol, and also the crabby and distracted customer service. Interesting b/c it's a "green" Walgreen's -- which so far only seems to mean there are special parking spaces in front for hybrid cars. Meh? read more

I love the fact that this new building boasts its green orientation, and there are parking spots reserved for high fuel efficiency cars (nice touch!). The pharmacy area is well designed and there are chairs if you want to sit down and wait while they brew up your drugs in the back. It's super close to my APT which means I can pop in for the essentials and not have to schlep a toddler-sized, gigantor brick of paper towels all the way back from Target (I've got a puppy and I go through them pretty quickly). They also have beer and wine, which is a total bonus. The only real issues I've had were with getting prints made--they were constantly losing things I sent through their online thinger, and the manager was a bit churlish about it so it must have been common and he was tired of it. The layout is a bit strange, logically, and it was difficult to find things, but the store isn't that big so a brute force method solves that problem. They tend to be out of the girly things I need, but maybe that's a function of living in the same neighborhood with a bunch of women who are also of childbearing age. Overall: decent, convenient, clean and it's mean they went green. Werd. read more

It's pretty awesome when you arrive at a Walgreen's, grab what you need, go through the check-out, and be back outside in 5 minutes. This Walgreen's is really that smooth. They stock all the normal Walgreen's stuff, but things are actually organized, and it doesn't feel like a war zone. I do wish they carried a few more healthy food and vegetarian options for when I need some grab 'n go food, but knowing the neighborhood, they probably do better stocking what they do. This is a solid location - always clean, well-lit and generally in good repair. This is probably because it's so new, haha. I think it's super cool that they've got charging stations for electric cars up front! I'm not sure I've seen anyone use them yet, but I don't pay much attention. My biggest regret with this location is the small selection of cereal. I love hitting up Walgreens for cereal when it's on sale, and man. This one's closest to my home, but, like a moth to flame, I find myself drawn to the Walgreens down by Milwaukee/Armitage when I spy good cereal deals. Or even further afield, sometimes. Possibly I'm just weird in this though? Grocery selection is pretty decent. I mean, it's Walgreens, you ain't gonna buy all your food here (or if you do, then what the fuck is wrong with you), but it's all right. Super handy in a pinch, and nice to stock up on some items with sales/coupons. The rest of the store is well organized, and, again, brightly lit and easily navigated. This is just a well put together location, you know? Service and staff are quality, too. Friendly and efficient, and always quick to get more people on register if a line builds up, which rules - wait times are never too long, unlike SOME Walgreens I could name.. I'm glad there's a Redbox out front, too. Good times. Someone else complained about wait times - uh, yeah, it's a busy location, and Redbox is slow. Sometimes people just wanna browse. If I could give this location 0 stars I would. The cashier "Debbie" was rude. She was slamming my purchases on the counter and shook up 2 bottles of soda I was trying to buy. After the transaction she couldn't remember how much change she owed me. I had to do the math for her. The customer service is terrible just trying to buy some basic supplies. I always like going to this Walgreen's b/c it's conveniently close to my house, the photoshop is new, and they usually have the groceries and munchies I like. The staff is also friendly and professional. I was in yesterday and Kevin at photo went out of his way to make sure my photo editing and prints went smoothly and promptly. He tended to all my needs professionally and courteously. I would've given this Walgreen's 5 stars but the parking lot tends to get full on weekends. I think they should work on expanding the lot. read more

i debated whether i wanted to write a review for this store. would i, a walgreens-corp-headquarters employee, be able to write an unbiased review? probably not. but stopped by this store for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. despite my walgreens allegiance, this store has a lot of stuff going for it. specifically: 1. the new-store design really is remarkable. it has lower sight lines, is easy to navigate and (finally) looks modern and clean. the dedicated pharmacy area elicits a sense of privacy - something the older stores are absolutely missing. i don't need someone's grandpa hovering thisclose behind me while i discuss my baby-preventing pills with the pharmacist, thank you very much. 2. sale prices are awesome. i impulse bought a variety of unnecessary items simply because my bargain-hunting self lusted after their marked-down retails. ($1.69 for velveeta shells and cheese? yes, please!) 3. finally, as jenna r. mentioned: this is illinois' first drugstore to meet top environmental requirements for efficiency and design. eco-features include: a "green roof" on which plants are growing, efficient water-fixtures that will save nearly 34,000 gallons of water a year, and coolers/freezers/signs all use LED lights reducing energy use by 50% over fluorescent lighting (the store will save enough energy to power more than five homes a year). plus, during construction, 85% of waste was diverted from landfills. biased or not, this store won me over. it's replacing my other neighborhood walgreens as my drugstore-of-choice. read more

When you receive a text or voicemail stating that your prescription for your sick child is ready, DONT BELIEVE IT. I waited an extra 30 minutes to go pick up the prescription to make sure it'd be ready. When I showed up, the unfriendly pharmacist said it still wasn't ready and she suggested I go grab lunch. She was clueless - I pointed out the sick, screaming baby in the back seat and she still said it would take an additional 10-15minutes. CVS at Western and Diversey here I come! read more
