I like that I can easily get vaccinations here (not just Covid--they have flu, pneumonia, etc., too). I had made an online appointment for a flu shot and a shingles vaccine for earlier this week, and I had to cancel at the last minute. I called and explained, and there was no problem; they told me I could just walk in any time to get my shot. I did that yesterday, although I had to wait about 30 minutes. Both the pharmacy associate and pharmacist were friendly and helpful, and the pharmacist even gave me some advice for a very minor problem I was having. Slowest drive through line I've ever seen. Average is 3-5 mins/car. Then they cut back hours to 6p on the drive through.

The pharmacy used to be quite efficient years ago, and I even fought against my insurance company who wanted to force us to get our medication in the mail, because I valued a direct relationship with people and businesses, but now the service is pitiful. I came by yesterday and lined up before 8:00am, to pick up a prescription that they had sent a text to my husband that it was ready. they said that the insurance wouldn't pay for it until today. So I said I would come back today. I lined up before 8:00am again, and waited for them to open and the guy tells me that because today is the first day that the insurance would pay they don't have it ready so to come back tomorrow. That's insane. I insisted so they made it ready. That's not good customer service. It took them less than 5 minutes to get it ready as there was nobody behind me in the car lane and seemingly no one yet in the store. What happened to courtesy? I can certainly wait, but for them to tell me to come back tomorrow, when they can have it ready in just a few minutes is not good service and it's not what I expected when I fought so hard against the insurance company that wants to force me to go with a mail prescription company. They posted a sign that says to remember that they are loved by someone, shouldn't that be reciprocated? read more

The associate says that she don't know how to do anything and her manager is gone for the day and the other girl is a transfer person and the other girl is an inventory specialist so no one there knows how to do anything that is ridiculous that in a business you have all these people working, and nobody knows anything or have to do anything read more

I put in my regular order, they text and said they were short on one pill and would let me know when the rest were in. They charged me $50 for 5 pills. Fine, except they never text me so less than 2 weeks later I again ordered the same pill. End result they again charged me $50 for 90 pills and took away all the refills for my pill. Normally a reputable pharmacy would just give you the balance of your pills. Pharmacist didn't try to correct problem blamed me for not picking up pills within 9day period. Pulled all prescriptions. Lesson learned. Insurance is filling a complaint against them. read more

I scheduled a 4:20 appointment for my Covid booster and showed 15 minutes early so I could get signed in. They were very busy, and I can tell that they were stressed, so waiting wasn't a big deal. Me the person ahead of me chatted--they had a 4:10 appt, and I had a 4:20 one. The technicians were hustling and doing a great job, but we waited a good half hour. Finally the pharmacist comes out and calls my name (mispronounces it but not a big deal, I corrected him). The ladies that were before me and still waiting were understandably upset. When I point out that they were before me, the pharmacists yells at me....I didn't raise my voice, I was extremely polite, and I was just trying to do right by the people in front of me. But he was mean to me, like not rude, MEAN. He was very nice to the women that I let in front of me, which made even less sense. But when it was my turn he wouldn't even say my name again, and when he finally did, he still mispronounced it. He was short and condescending with every statement. I asked me again for information I already provided when I scheduled the appointment but that's not too big a deal, just strange. If I had to wait so long and they were not going to obtain the information I provided, what was the point of the appointment? I finally brought up the incident saying I was sorry for the confusion I was trying to do right by the people in front of me. He did not offer up an apology but at least stopped being so mean after that. You can't be mean to a patient like that, especially when you are about to stick them with needles, and they are just trying to be kind to someone else. Don't ever use Walgreens pharmacy. This is the most incompetent place you can go to. The customer service is horrendous, they will double charge you and insurance, they tell you what medicine you can't have, they don't keep medicine in stock, and they will text you and say it's ready, but they didn't even fill it.... or if they did, it's in another state! read more

I have never had more problems filling prescriptions in all the other places combined that I've used besides Walgreens Tryon Village. The refills don't happen together when they should, I get shorted pills & no one there can explain why, and the people working at the pharmacy are dumb, clueless, make up answers when they don't know something, and are rude. I just had a supposed pharmacist, who initially wouldn't give his name until I asked, answer the phone in a huff and be rude to me when I called to ask why my 90 day supply was short. I've already had different answers from different employees that make no sense. It's clear many of the employees here do not care for the patients they are supposed to be serving, some of whom may have serious or terminal health issues. If the snippy snowflake pharmacist I talked to has such a hard time answering the phone civilly like a grown up would be expected to in his position, maybe he should be digging ditches or cleaning toilets for a living so he never has to talk to anyone. I will be pulling all my prescriptions back over to another well known pharmacy chain, and will be telling everyone I know to do the same. read more

It's a Walgreens... what is there to say? It's the same everywhere. Here's something I found shocking: they don't have eggs. I stopped in on Thanksgiving because the fiance and I wanted sandwiches and needed eggs. Jimmy Johns was just a couple doors down (it was closed), so I dropped in to Walgreens (it was open) to get eggs. I walked the store. No eggs. Moral of the story: This Walgreens doesn't carry eggs. Thus ends today's egg-o-centric review. Please move to the exits in an orderly fashion. read more

Clean & Quick...just a few issues I stop here most everyday on my way home from work since it is convenient. It is always clean, and I seldom have to wait in line. First, there is a parking issue here. Located directly behind Walgreens is a karate studio. Apparently, they have karate classes at 5:30 everyday and every citizen of Cary has to take "little Johnny" to karate lessons. That is all well and good, but the overflow vehicles end up in the Walgreen parking lot. It is sometimes difficult, if not impossible, to find a parking space. The second issue, and this is directly related to Walgreens, is their policy of allowing clerks under the age of 21 to work the register. If you try to buy beer or wine, you can pretty much count on the fact that the clerk will have to call a manager from the back of the store to check you out. If Walgreens wants to sell these items, great...but they should hire clerks who are allowed to sell it. read more

Fortunately/Unfortunately, I'm a regular here. With three kids, I need an efficient drug store and this fits the bill. They are pretty good about getting the prescriptions done very quickly. They also will let you buy over the counter mediceines in the drive through. This is really great when you have a screaming over-tired sick kid that needs their antibiotic AND some Tyenol. They have two lanes and work both to make the line go smoother. On the occasions you do have to park, this shopping center is pretty crowded. read more

This pharmacy is horrible. They gave me the incorrect form of my medication, so after calling and making them aware, the tech told me they would contact my insurance and call me if there were issues. If there were no issues, my medication would be ready next day after noon. Here I am, next day at 1:21pm, and they tell me that my insurance has delayed the request and it would be approved tomorrow. When I ask why I did not receive a call, like the tech told me, they did not have an answer. This is the SECOND time this has happened to me and I will not be using this pharmacist after getting my medication. read more

I feel like a glutton for punishment everytime I bring my prescription here. Why do I keep coming here & then yanking my prescriptions back when they can't get them filled in a timely fashion? Working for a large drug retailer is hard. Been there, done it, have several t-shirts. I love this Walgreens. I've come here probably 3 times per week for about 4 years now. I cannot think of a time I've had a bad experience. Since I have a background in retail I pride myself on being very low maintenance. The only complaint I can come up with is one time I had to wait for a couple of minutes for a cashier that could sell me alcohol. Turns out the employee that was over 21 had run to the restroom. I obviously cannot fault someone for having to use the bathroom. My philosophy on waiting is that if you can't wait 3 extra minutes, you shouldn't have stopped. Front end employees are always friendly and courteous. This store is a typical Walgreen's. good selections on beauty/health aids, tons of candy, Hallmark brand cards. Small gifts and food necessities are abundant. Typically you pay a bit of a premium at drug stores but honestly it's not any worse than the teeter next door. Pharmacy staff always friendly and efficient. There is/was a technician named Sarah who has been helpful on many occasions. When it comes to big box drug stores this one can't be beat. read more

Yes, I agree, the Walgreens' pharmacy is very incompetent. I tried to refill a prescription, first their phone system would not let me into the automatic refill, then the "lady" that answered the phone hung up on me. This occurred 3 times in a row. I will drive a longer distance just to avoid this place! No stars. read more
