This location is not the best. I came here to pick up a FedEx package recently. I asked a staff member within the aisles if I have to go to the front in order to pick up my package and she responded rudely. The line doesn't move fast here at all. The space within each aisle is so snug that you can barely shop through the aisle comfortably. I definitely prefer going to CVS instead of Walgreens. read more

I was confused about which allergy medication to purchase for my needs. **ACHOOOOO!** **Rubs eyes** There was a staff member packing in the aisle and I enlisted her help. I found out her name is Daisy! My gorsh! This is what customer service is about! Daisy should teach classes on CS! I was a bit indecisive. There were so many options with varying price points and I began comparing ingredients. At no point did Daisy seem bothered by my questions or the fact that I repeated some of them. **blocks face** When I thought our interaction was over I thanked her and she left. A few moments later, Daisy was back at my side with alternatives that suited my needs. I had told her I preferred the cheapest item as the ingredients all seemed to be similar, if not the same. At least the actives were. Realizing this, Daisy had brought something that was on sale for me to look at! WIN! Daisy assisted me all the while with a smile on her face. We even shared some jokes on the way I took so much time to analyze the medicine. HahaJaja. I also noticed her interactions with other customers AND staff and she was as equally helpful AND pleasant. Listen! I wanted to hug this lady! I don't know about you but I'm a big baby when I'm not in the best health. I left the store feeling much better simply because DAISY HELPED ME. I HEART MS. DAISY. I'll return just for her. (Yelp has it listed as Duane Reade only but you know Walgreens and DR are one and the same) The End. read more

Walgreens - Very busy location 30 mins wait to get medication . - Drugstores Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

The staff here are very nice and work hard but this place is a complete disaster. Extremely long waits unless you go at really weird hours, for both the main registers and the pharmacy. It's not uncommon for only 1 register to be open even though there are 3 others just sitting there unused. I've never shoplifted in my life and I've come close to just walking out with my purchases without paying because I've been in line for 20+ minutes. Only go here as an absolute last resort. Again, the staff do the best they can but the company just hangs them out to dry. I swear this place is borderline non-functional. I don't know if it legally meets the definition of a business. It's mostly a place where neighborhood people gather to wait in line together and try to not think dark thoughts. You spend way more time just waiting in line than you do shopping. Please believe me when I say this place completely sucks. read more

Extremely long wait for pharmacy (1 hour+). If you're sick and waiting for meds, you will not survive. Pharmacy staff moving like stuck in cement. When you finally get to checkout, your prescription is not ready. When you ring bell for someone to assist with getting items behind security barrier, no one comes. Pickpockets constantly stealing and staff and security do nothing about it and pretend not to identify the potential thieves. Sad Walgreens/Duane Reade would leave such a dysfunctional pharmacy to service predominantly black neighborhood. The franchisee should be terminated. Don't waste your time. Go to CVS or go to any pharmacy in Manhattan instead. TRUST ME read more

Wow. Honestly this location is an absolute nightmare. My doctor called in a very basic asthma medication 8 days ago. I've gotten the run around since then - it's out of the stock but on the way, it will be in tomorrow, etc. My husband went this morning. First they told him it was not covered by insurance (uhh ok sucks but whatever I'm sick here). He said it's fine we need it. Tuens out that yes it was out of stock - but no one bothered to put in the order FOR EIGHT DAYS. You'd think the calls/visits would have sparked something, anything, but no. I've exercised empathy and patience for a week. Enough is enough - this is so incredibly irresponsible and disheartening. Also - recently switched locations and had one rx waiting at another. When I was in (eight days ago!) I asked the pharmacy tech if she could switch it in the system for me. This person actually had the nerve to tell me that I could call the other store and do it myself. Babe, you literally have the computer open in front of you. WHAT. read more

Honestly I don't know why there's so many complaints about this location. They might not have everything, and let's face it, there's even less staff then before because corporations are trying to make more money off of everyone's backs. That being said, everytime I go in they are courteous, and try to help me as much as possible. The pharmacy is especially good, they do their best to be accomadating, and go as quickly as they can, but sometimes I only see two people back there and one lady's doing vaccines so yes, you may have to wait a bit in line, but they are really great once you get up to the counter. Just have a little patience, prepare to be there a little longer since they are a small store, and you'll get good service read more

Terrible pharmacy! Poor attitude and unwilling to help. Highly recommend switching to another location.

Don't go here. Even if you book your drugs online, the staff will tell you you didn't, and your prescriptions will not be ready. The line is at least 15 people long at all times, no one answers the phone, and they are rude, except the woman who works at the front. Make a corporate complaint. Your time is valuable. 1-877-924-4472. read more

This is the most inefficient pharmacy I have ever encountered. The line is regularly 2 hours long. They do not manage their customer service. Four pharmacists dispensing medication with one person behind the register. Time to find a new pharmacy read more

Pharmacy unbelievably slow. At least an hour wait. Miserable. Lots of people working here, not clear what they're doing, but lots of sad customers standing in line or sitting for literally an hour waiting to drop off, pick up, or get a vaccine. Wow. read more

With all the changes happening around the neighborhood and within this actual Duane Reade, it would be great to see the pharmacy staff keep up with this movement. I called 2 times for the same issue and was put on hold and moved to a different person 3 times EACH time I called. Nobody wanted to take any responsibility for this happening. Finally, Louis was able to help me. Props to him, and shame on all the other pharmacy workers there. You're there, it's your job, where else do you have to be and what else do you have to be doing but the basic requirement of your job. Ask what the prescription is, fill it. Any issues? Resolve it then fix it. Done and done. read more

After urgent care visit 01/03/20 went pick up medication, I was rush to the point that she forget to give me one , I said to her I am missing one told her the name of the medication, she then gave it to me. I had to check the names and all before leaving the store. Please keep an eye open for these pharmacies up and coming it's a highly demanding job with , unprofessional street characters going into professions like this. Not trained enough, untidy, unprofessionals rude untrusted characters. read more

Horrible service. Not only do they not employ enough reps which causes the wait to beyond normal. 10mins I could understand but why am I always in the line for a minimum of 20mins to get my neighbors prescriptions. I only do this to be helpful but I would never for myself knowing there are options in the area. I use Sams pharmacy at 210 Parkside. Not only do they deliver your prescriptions but their service is well above Duane Reade's read more

Yes, please follow me because I definitely look like someone who steals instead of someone who can't find any of the products in this place!!! Ugh, I ALWAYS get followed by the security guard when I'm here. I have no idea why. Not just regular "oh, let me see what aisle she's in", no total walking right behind me or finding me in said aisle and walking past me...repeatedly. I can't. Things are always priced wrong, but I've noticed it's just Walgreens all over, not just this store. I don't mind coming here, but the bargain basement places in this neighborhood have better prices and the same products usually. read more

Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service at the pharmacy. There was a line on Sunday at 5:01 so I step up, I walked into the store at 5:00pm. Even though the pharmacy was clearly visible absolutely functional and customers were being helped they would not allow me to simply pick up my medication, which is necessary for me to have today. Deplorable and unbelievable. Would give zero stars if I could. I've never before experienced such lack of care. read more

We can always find worst experience. But this one is a winner. What a terrible customer journey.

The store itself is the issue. The awful easy listening stations and the fact that everything from toothbrushes to face wash is locked up. I mean it's corporate bs at its finest. But the staff have always been great, even when it's clear they're overworked and under paid. read more

Awful service. I asked an employee how I picked up my FedEx order and he grunted "there" and half motioned to the fromt of the store. I said "sorry did you say the cashier?" And he totally ignored me. It was super awkward. I stood in a long "not very socially distanced " line where customers behind me were up my ass and in groups breathing down my neck instead of one person at a time six feet away. Do not get packages routed here. It took four delivery attempts before someone even accepted the delivery, It would have been quicker if I got it at home even after being away all week. The line did go pretty fast and the associate was nice but they didn't have my package. I will probably never use this store for a fed ex location again. It's too far for me to walk to be told they never got it even tho fed ex told me for sure they did on the phone . read more

I wish I could give the pharmacy zero stars. I waited in line with a dozen other people yesterday for almost 45 minutes. As I got closer to the front, I got a sinking feeling as each person before me walked away angry. Either they don't know how to use their own equipment or they don't know how to fill a prescription. They didn't have anything ready for anyone. Each person before me walked away empty-handed. My prescriptions weren't ready, despite the web site and a text clearly indicating otherwise. The dude working the counter didn't care and sent me away. They knew there was a line. The one person behind the register continued to look up and straight at us. But he didn't seem to care and made no effort to call up another associate to help out. read more

I would give no stars if that was an option. It took me forever find my products, some much needed Chapstick and a glossy Claritin D poster card, which I can than redeem for actual Claritin. That awful woman behind the counter in the pharmacy section was struggling with a stapler and NEVER acknowledged that I was standing there. There was another employee loitering in the back. He did not help me but he did help the woman who was standing in line behind me. I guess I was invisible. When I dared to say something, the witch behind the counter looked up from her fight with the stapler and said the "gentleman" will help me when he is done with the current customer. I again protested and told her I was here first. She shrugged and copped an attitude. I gave her the death stare and walked out. Why is it so hard to get good customer service? I don't need you to make small talk or give me forced smiles. Just show a modicum of respect and pretend that you don't hate the job that is paying you to be there. I HATE this place. I hated this place when I lived here many, many years ago, and coming back reminded me why. read more

These folks clearly are working hard and have lots of orders to fill. But every month there's some excuse as to why my prescriptions take multiple days, despite going out of my way to get my doctors to send them in extremely early. One time they stopped filling scrips completely for days and days because of a computer issue, which I would never have found out had I not called dozens of times to get an update from an actual human being. I've missed doses several months in a row because of these issues, which can be very dangerous, and when I've pointed it all I've ever gotten is "aww I'm sorry." Individually the pharmacy folks seem nice, but there's clearly some structural problem over there that has had negative consequences for my health. read more

I write this review as the store is closed even though they said they are open. I arrived at 8:52 to use the ATM. The doors were locked and the guard wouldn't let me in. I had my Chase debit card in my hand to show I simply wanted to pull out a $20 so I could spend it at a local bar. I point out the sign says they close at 9. He said that the policy is that they close 10 minutes before posted time and only help the people inside, and proceeded to tell me I was condescending for reading the operating hours posted on the door. I have already informed Duane Reade. Don't expect to have a decent experience here in anyway shape or form. Go to any other Duane Reade in your life on your way home instead. read more

I called to see if my prescription to see if it was filled. The automated system could not find it so I waited to speak to someone. Twice someone picked up and hung up on me without saying anything. I went down in person and saw that there were over 15 people on line. I went to run other errands and came back later to wait behind 6 people. The woman who helped me could not even be bothered to make eye contact. She claims that my prescription will be available Monday, that she has no idea why the automated system wasn't working and told me that I should download their app. I did. It also does not show any info about my prescription. This is why people are switching to online pharmacies. What is the point of using your neighborhood pharmacy if the people working there can't be bothered to help you anyway? They are clearly understaffed. I actualy do not fault the employees. Duane Reade/ Walgreens corp. needs to get a grip. They will not be able to compete with convenient online options, by understaffing their stores and depending on automated systems and Apps that don't work. read more

Of there is an award for the worst pharmacy in all of the USA, it should go to the Duane Reade pharmacy at corner of Flatbush and Parkside Avenue in Prospect Lefferts Gardens of Brooklyn New York. The locals call the place the Covid tunnel for if you step in the store most likely you will be exposed to Covid due to extra long lines and just too many people in the store. This pharmacy does not care, what so ever, how long its lines are. The pharmacy counter staff are so ridiculously untrained, they basically has no idea how to run a pharmavy. Even though you may get a text message that your priscription is ready to be picked up, you will still.jave to go to the Covid tunnel and wait an hour to pick up a few pills. The girls filling out prescription behind the counter are clueless and feel no urgency to work faster. In fact they seem to make an effort to go slower ! As if they are trying to prove a point. I really wishes diane reade would move put and another chain of pharmacy that can handle public demand would move in read more

Terrible pharmacy. Rude. Curt. Slow. Understaffed. Never pick up phone. Young woman in black sweatshirt at pharmacy especially miserable.

Zero rating!!!! Everynight after work the line is 20 people long to pick up an rx. I asked the "manager" if she saw how many people were waiting. All I got was a stink eye and barely a mumble. Very effective managing ahaha! read more

I can always count on Duane Reade always having my Green Tea. Plus they have a Chase ATM which makes it easier to use it then to try and find a Chase Bank. read more

First, I have to say that most of the people who work the front registers at this place are okay in my book. Management? Not so much. That's about all I've got, though. This has to be the only DR in New York that closes before 10pm, and I will never be able to properly express how intensely annoyed that makes me. It's bad enough they don't ever actually have anything I go in there to get. Fortunately, another pharmacy opened less than a block away from these guys, so it's highly unlikely I'll ever have to go in there again. read more

This is so small. The workers are rude. The prices are too high, sales never really good. Long lines, even in the mornings, sigh. I dont like this location but If, though very rare, I need to pick up a prescription I get it here. I went here to pick up some sun block, a Clif bar, and some PowerAde. A pretty boring purchase all in all, in a Duane Reade that is seemingly indistinguishable from any of the others. But they do have the advantage of being open early on Saturday mornings when other small business owner establishements like King's Pharmacy across the street are decidedly closed. You can't win if you don't compete! read more

I don't understand all the bad reviews. Some people are such prima donnas. This place definitely doesn't deserve 1.5 stars but that's Yelpers for ya. Oh well. Anyhow, I love this Duane Reade. I am here maybe twice a week or so. I am always able to find what I need. I do think "Duane Reade" in general is overpriced but this location is no different than any other in that regard. The service is slow sometimes and the lines can be long during the evenings especially but I've always found the employees to be helpful and friendly. My only gripe is that sometimes the Chase ATM is down but other than that, I always have a good experience here. read more

I have been a loyal customer of Duane Reade for over a decade spending thousands of dollars. Today I went to drop off a new refill prescription, I had filled before. A young lady took my prescription over to the Pharmacist Darshell and she immediately said out loud "no that date was changed from a One to a Two" the young lady returned to me refusing to fill my prescription and adding that sleeping pills are a controlled substance. Really!!!! The assumption that the date on my prescription was changed intentionally was defamation of my character. I was floored and extremely offended by the Darshell's accusation. I'm sure there was a better way for her to handle a questionable prescription. I immediately spoke to Darshell the pharmacist telling her that I was upset by that comment she made in regards to my prescription. She never apologized. Instead she would not make eye contact with me and continued to look away and state the law and policies. I can understand the laws and policies, they are there for a reason. I asked her to call my doctor and verify that she wrote the prescription for the date in question to verify that a date alteration never happened! She refused. She stated it wouldn't make a difference at this point since she deemed the prescription altered; I would need to get a new one. My doctor writing was horrible and the date could be questionable, but they handled the situation very poorly. I walked away embarrassed and very unhappy customer. Its been 3months I never received a follow up or resolution after reporting it to corporate office. Go somewhere else, not worth bad treatment! read more

I dislike this Duane Reade,at times long lines and horrible service .

As usual, another Duane Reade with atrocious pharmacy service. No one looks you in the eye, if they have a problem filling it with your insurance they don't bother telling you until you've waited an hour. They speak at an impossibly low volume and act put upon when you ask what they said, as if you're a problem. Imagine being hard of hearing and having to deal with these people? They're rude and unpleasant. It's inconvenient, unfriendly, and incompetent. Go to a locally owned pharmacy where the owners care about their customers and treat people decently. read more

Three stars because it's convenient. Boring shopping experience? Yes. Long lines? Sometimes. Slow customer service? Yes. The cashiers look so tired, they're almost like working zombies, and there's only like two workers interspersed all over the store. But this store is functional in its own way. If you need something, this is the place. It has a variety of things. Be wary when purchasing though, many products are overpriced. read more
