This location is not one of my favorites. The pharmacy is very slow. Lines were always long. After Rite aid closed I started going here but there was always a problem with the insurance and then not carrying certain things was such a hassle. They never pick up the phone in the pharmacy. And are incredibly rude in the pharmacy when you go to pick up an order--they act like you're inconveniencing them--aside from having insanely restrictive hours (9am-6pm with time off for lunch vs staggering the workers). Their app sucks too. It's a real shame Rite-Aid closed. They were GREAT. I'm planning on switching to Regal once they re-open even though my meds are free at Walgreens. It's not worth the headache. read more

I was there to take passport photo and it was a joke they wouldn't let me use my own flash drive to save the digital photo and they made it clear: you have to purchase Walgreens flash dive and you cannot use your own device cause this is how Walgreens makes money. read more

On Wednesday November 21st at approximately 12:20 PM, I went to the Walgreen's on West 235th in Riverdale. I went through the store aisles picking up a few things. I then approached the beverage aisle and saw the beverage delivery person unloading items. I could not believe the profanity coming out of his mouth. I felt sorry for any parent who might have had a young child with them. This beverage delivery person's profanity was audible throughout the store. I was shocked the few store employees did nothing about it! Sure, this is a reflection on their beverage vendor, but the fact the Walgreen's employees said nothing is disgusting. read more

I shopped at this Walgreens location for the first time in a very long time. The checkout clerk was shockingly rude. I usually shop at CVS, where they are proactively friendly and helpful. I won't give my business to Walgreens going forward. read more

I have been going to this Walgreens since I was a kid and it was a Genovese pharmacy and store. I love and miss the old pharmacist Henry, but the new pharmacist who gave me the Comirnaty Covid vaccine and flu shot was lovely. She was professional and quick. read more

Of the two biggest pharmacies on the block this one rocks. I have never had a long wait to pick up my prescriptions. The automated messaging's are great. The pharmacy is the worst I've ever encountered. I know pharmacists (like many other healthcare workers) have been through a lot over the past few years, but the way they talk to customers (and each other) is inexcusable. Prescriptions often take several days to fill, and service is extremely slow. There are some great, independently run pharmacies in the area, so go to one of those instead! read more

This "pharmacist" was the rudest I have ever met. extremely rude to my family and just awful all around. they should shut this place down. went for a flu shot and if someone told me he injected rat poison into my veins, I wouldn't doubt it. The one star relates to only one thing. I scheduled a flu shot for this morning. Actually originally it was scheduled for late in the afternoon but I had to change it because of another commitment. All fine and good. I get multiple reminders from Walgreens to not forget that I have an 11 AM scheduled appointment. I go to the store. I see they wanted a QR code scanned and I started to do it and then the person behind the counter tells me there's no flu shot yet. I looked at her stunned. I said I have an appointment for 11 AM. She said we have not gotten the vaccines yet. Then why on earth allow people to register online, get multiple reminders as if it was a done deal? That's really inefficient, misleading, and a time waster. I thought then to call around to the other pharmacies just to get this out of the way. I called CVS. I get their automated menu. There's a flag actually on the flu vaccine which tells you if you're trying to order the flu vaccine it has not come in yet. Bingo! This is the way it should be done and it was done very well and efficiently. CVS, that's where I'm going for my flu shot once it comes in. read more

This Walgreens' pharmacy has since Covid and continues to be just awful. The pharmacy is closed labor day weekend and just returned from being closed every weekend. They cannot get deliveries straight and they charge for prescription deliveries--outrageous! Who suffers--the infirm elderly. No drug store should charge for delivery! They can't get anything straight. I thought things were getting better but they are not. They are getting much worse. I had to beg them to get the manager to deliver my prescriptions so I wouldn't have to do without my heart medications for four days. I had ordered them on Monday but they were still sitting there on Friday afternoon. Walgreens wasn't bad enough during the height of Covid so I guess they had to continue their awful service now for Labor Day 2022! The only one who knew what he was doing was Henry, the pharmacist. I don't know how he tolerated the disorganization. Bad news! Go somewhere else--to a private pharmacy. read more

a ok walgreens in the semi hidden part of the bronx (riverdale). after taking a friend around the bronx on a sunday morning i made a pit stop to the local walgreens to pick up a few goodies .typical wagreens with the typical walgreens stuff and typical pharmacy in the back area. the place looks well stocked , organized and clean with workers who seem ok overall. roamed around a quick bit and picked up a few beverages and snacks along with the walgreens brand paper towels and tissue paper as you can never have enough of both . check out was quick , used my walgreens card and added some points which i can use next time to knock off a few bucks on my total on my next visit. glad the diet pepsi is cold as its hot and humid on a sunday morning at 11am. read more

No stars. Registered on-line for booster shots for last Saturday and got to the. Pharmacy and found out that it was closed. When I asked how they could allow registration for vaccinations when they knew they would be closed I was told that the site just does it. Said with a shrug. read more

The worse customer service ever! The pharmacy lost my confidential information and twice sent me a text saying my prescription was ready. When I went to the store they told me they did not know what I was talking about no information on file. The manager was rude and dismissive the pharmacy person "waved me away" after I showed her the text messages the pharmacy had sent to pick up my meds. RUN DO NOT GO HERE. Also when the pandemic started they closed and everyone had to go to CVS for their meds. AWFUL to treat anyone this way but a senior citizen. I am calling AARP and letting them know also. read more

This Walgreens needs to do a better job with the line situation. I understand the need to limit the amount of customers in the store because of the pandemic, but give me a break. I guess they are limiting it to no more than seven or eight customers in the store for a store this big? At least make it 10 - 15. Everyone had a mask on this morning and was practicing social distancing, and they were letting one person in the store at a time. The person managing the line only let a few more of us in after we started complaining about how no one was in the store. read more

Today a very, rude, condescending, and pedantic staff member (manager?) told me that dogs are not allowed in the store. I have taken my well-behaved, small dog in the store many dozens of times before. Most of the time, I ask when I walk in if it's okay; never, over the past two years that I've been going there, has anyone ever said anything other than "yes." Never. Until this person did today -- one of the very few times I have not asked upon entering. And she misquoted NYS law in admonishing me while literally ignoring the staff member next to her who didn't have a mask on...which is currently illegal in NYS. Apparently, inconsistency is more important to Walgreen's than basic customer service, so I will now exclusively shop at one of the four other pharmacies located in a one-block radius of this Walgreen's.
