Walgreens in Hyde Park on Truman Hwy is a pretty large & newer store... Walgreens stores that were converted from Rite Aids typically look older but this is a legacy store location. I like this store because they always have a good stock of items, such as stuffies! Why I am giving a two star is because this store has bad management, store & pharmacy. There's many employees here & never seems to really ever be short staffed compared to other locations but they never want to attend to customers. It could be not busy at all & your Rx will still take an hour or be forgetten completely, just for something that needs a label to be stuck onto a container lol. Service is nonexistent here unfortunately. On the bright side, they do keep the shelves stocked & quite organized. It's located in the Truman Hwy Plaza, where you can find Stop & Shop for groceries and a liquor store to make a quick run for some booze. They also have EV chargers (Shell ReCharge) in this plaza, as well! They're currently free, courtesy of Shell, with a limit of 1 hr charge/session @9.6kW, ~32mi/hr. read more

Not sure if it's bad luck or this place is just horrible. The last two times that I went to pick up my meds I've had issues. One time they told me to give them 15 minutes, l left return then I was told that it wouldn't be ready for a couple of days. I was like what the heck. Second time I tried refilling my scripts through the app a message popped up that there was an issue to call the pharmacy. I called and it took me 18 minutes to finally talk to someone. Hours later I receive a message that my prescription is ready, I drive over, waited a bit in line and when I finally get to the counter I'm told that it is in fact ready but that the system was not producing the price on my meds and that I would have to come back later. Left there livid, this place sucks to say the least read more

I went to this location at 3:30pm today because I had a question regarding photos. I stood at the photo department counter for a couple of minutes, the cashier over by the register didn't ask if I needed assistance nor did he call anyone over to help me. He was not busy and he most certainly saw me just standing there and completely ignored. I left. Pharmacy: The pharmacist who gave me my shots (flu, hep and td) was courteous and kind. She gave additional information about the shots. Her process of giving the shots made it calming and comfortable. This was honestly the easiest way I ever received a shot. I would go back for her help. Please note, I didn't shop in the store. I can rent 3 apartments nd sell 1 house in a day and these guys can't even fill a prescription in a day, not sure but they need people who actually care!!! One of the worst pharmacies in Boston. The pharmacy staff is unprofessional and it took 2 days for them to fill a prescription that they had the drug in-house. No one wants to work. Just retrain or fire everyone and start over. The wait area to pick up your prescription had no seats available. That is how backed up they were, mid week at 10 am. read more

This store has the laziest staff I have ever seen. Even though there are 5 people working at the pharmacy, they all ignore you and have only one cashier working. (The rest of the staff are just talking). The checkout process is the same one person working and a long time. This is every time I come to this location. No one is friendly and a visit that should take under 5 minutes takes 15-20 minutes. Avoid this store if you can. read more

Is it possible to give zero stars? Dude this pharmacy is run by high school kids. As I'm waiting in a line of 14 people there are 5 people behind the pharmacy counter and only one is helping customers. There wasn't the slightest sense of urgency amongst the 5 of them as people desperately wait for their presumably much needed medication. There was some creature of lady that looked like the pharmacist who was lazily putting together orders while she lets the entire place go down in flames. No prioritizing or direction to any of the employees to assist the seemingly endless line of customers. The woman who I spoke with straight lied to me about my medication trying to make me pay hundreds of dollars instead of processing a simple coupon to help me get my medicine. I don't usually do these types of things. As in review drugstores. But, this Walgreens is worth a first. This is a brand new one, with EVERYTHING, neat and tidy. Just the way I like it. It has not yet been infiltrated by the occasional trifling patron you might find in some of the Bean's other neighborhoods. Let's be real. This drugstore is such a huge step up from the former Walgreens in this space. They demolished the former building and built a brand new Walgreens, and its great (and much, much better than either the Rite Aid or CVS in Hyde Park, both of which are horrible!). Spacious, organized, and filled with everything you'd ever be looking for from Walgreens. Lots of parking, amazing photo area, and above all, fabulous associates. The manager here took a special interest in correcting a mistake with the address of this store on Walgreens' website, that I had asked about. It was extremely professional customer service for this issue to be resolved, and then for her to personally call me regarding the issue. They take customer service very seriously here and I greatly appreciate that. Clearance tags are consistently present in this store and in general the deals from the weekly ad (every week) are awesome. In general, Walgreens in cheaper than either CVS or Rite Aid, so it's really the best option. And for the record, the photo center here is amazing. I've made lots of photo books and printed photos from here in the past and every single time I have received outstanding service and clear, perfect photos. No complaints whatsoever. Highly suggested for the best of the trilogy of pharmacies in Hyde Park. 5 stars. read more

This was one of my favorite locations until Saturday 1/19/19. The manager that was working between 4-8pm was awful. Poor customer service skills and was extremely degrading to her staff. I merely had a question about my points and she rushed to the front of the store where her employee was assisting me and asked if there was a problem. The cashier asked her the same question I asked him about my points, and instead of answering she made him feel as if he did something wrong. I know this because he them turned to me and shrugged it off. I kindly asked her again about my points and she answered with an attitude. Yes, you would have to purchase to see how many points you have. I mean there was no line so I didn't understand the animosity. Needless to say I will not visit this location anymore. read more

I scheduled my covid vaccine for 2:15, showed up at 2:10. Checked in and and waited, and waited and waited. Then I was told the pharmacist would be with me in a minute. I had just seen him walk back from his break. Then waited some more while another person came in for their vax. Had a different person come out they asked me the standard questions, had me sign the form, and then told me a few minutes. Now it's about 45 minutes after my appointment and I'm still waiting. The other vax person is getting anxious as well. Another 10 minutes and finally they come out and call the other person before me! I try to be understanding and all but still sheesh. I spoke up and the other person did as well that it was my turn so they took me. She didn't even tell me to wait the 15 minutes or say anything to me, just jabbed and done. The thing is I had gone with my son the week before and it went awesome so I thought it would be a good place to go. Now I don't know if I want to go back for #2. They are efficient, knowledgeable, helpful, and take an interest in customers as people and patients.
