I rarely leave negative reviews, but the level of service I received from Waldorf Honda's service department was so unacceptable that I feel other customers should know exactly what they may be dealing with before trusting this department with their vehicle.
What started as a routine recall appointment turned into an absolute nightmare. Following the recall being addressed, my husband was informed of an additional issue that was found. Not an issue that required being immediately addressed, but something that we were told would take "just a couple days." So we left it, since it was already there.
My husband called back the next day to check in, as he was advised to do & guess what response he got from BERNARD? "Oh, I forgot." Immediately annoyed with this, we tried to be understanding because we know sometimes dealerships can get busy & stuff happens. This was a Friday & of course we were told nothing could be done over the weekend.
Fast forward to Monday & Bernard informed us that the warranty on the vehicle had not been activated. 100% not this dealership's fault & we addressed this with the dealership where we purchased the vehicle/warranty. By Tuesday, the warranty was activated & service could commence. Yet IT DID NOT.
My husband called & left messages for several days, for Bernard, that went unanswered. Once a week had passed since my vehicle was left for a "quick fix" & my husband had no luck with getting in touch with or hearing back from Bernard, I contacted dealership myself. Initially, my calls were transferred to Bernard's voicemail, as I was informed that he WAS THERE & I was transferred before I could even explain that he had not been responsive. I didn't leave messages because it was already proven to be a waste of time from the multiple calls/messages left by my husband. On my third call, I informed the person who answered that we'd not received call backs immediately. JASMINE allowed me to explain what the last week & a couple days consisted of, as far as communication on my vehicle. She was very kind, offered her apologies & informed me that my vehicle was still listed as "ready for pick-up" in the system. Ready for pick-up, from the recall appointment. Meaning, BERNARD had done NOTHING for over a week, while my vehicle sat & our calls/messages were ignored. Not even updating its status in their system. JASMINE said she would go talk to him to see what was going on & promised a call back "shortly." That call back never came.
A couple more days passed & I called again refusing to be directed to the service department. I selected "sales" from the automated directory & by some fluke chance, I was connected with John. I explained what we'd been dealing with for 2 weeks with the service department & having no status or info about my vehicle. To my surprise, he informed me that he oversaw the service department. He checked the records & saw my vehicle status was "ready for pick-up." Meaning NO ACTION had been taken since my conversation with JASMINE. & still, of course, there had been no word from BERNARD.
John assured me he would look into the situation immediately & get back to me. I specifically asked that he call me back, not my husband whose contact info is what was on file. There was no call back BUT the next day, long lost Bernard contacted my husband & informed him that service had BEGUN on my vehicle. Yes, BEGUN after 2 weeks of sitting there "just because," I guess. Let that sink in. My vehicle sat at a dealership for more than 2 weeks & NOTHING had been done. What's worse, BERNARD was completely nonchalant when he called my husband. No apology, no explanation, nothing. Within 2 days of speaking with John, the service that we waited 2 weeks for was completed. Again, confirming a complete lack of care/prioritization on the dealership's behalf.
What made this whole situation worse was the complete lack of accountability afterward. There was no apology from Bernard, nor the dealership. No acknowledgment of the inconvenience their lack of organization & communication caused. No attempt to make the situation right. Just an astonishing level of indifference. For a dealership that expects customers to trust them with one of their most expensive possessions, the lack of professionalism, communication, follow-through & basic courtesy I experienced was astounding. Crazy to think they have a 2025 service award posted inside --- what happened?
I cannot recommend this service department based on my experience. If you choose to bring your vehicle here, I strongly suggest being prepared to actively chase them for updates, because my experience showed me that leaving your vehicle with them does not necessarily mean anyone is actively working on/keeping track of it. Keeping a customer's vehicle for more than two weeks, ignoring messages, failing to communicate & then not even offering an apology is not merely poor customer service. It is embarrassing. read more
