After programming,…read morethe technician said that he is not able to cut the entry key that is part of the FOB and then gave me an excuse that he provides the FOB, not the key. The entry key is part of the FOB and an important part of a working FOB. He told me that I now need to go to a dealer to have the keys cut which means extra time and money. I will never use this service again and would recommend others find a place that actually completes the work correctly.

I needed a stuck front doorknob fixed. They were quick to send me a quote and had someone out to my…read morehouse within an hour or so. The tech, Artie, was nice and completed the job in about thirty minutes. That said, the amount I was charged seemed really high, and was far above what I was originally quoted. I paid but made it clear I was not happy. Violet, a manager, contacted me about my complaint and refunded some of the charges, for a final amount that was much more in line, IMO, with the amount of work that was done. For that, I commend them.

Everything you would like from a locksmith. We needed some locks re-keyed. The woman who answered…read morethe phone was professional. The prices I were quoted were flat fees rather than hourly, and they were competitive versus the competition. Even better, this leads to no surprises at billing time. Josh arrived within my preferred one hour time frame. He was professional, friendly, (and since I was curious) informative. He did everything right--even after bumping into a small puzzle of a problem--with patience and grace. You might say, "Your points are granted. But nevertheless, why 5 stars rather than 4?" You got me there. Really, what else could they have done for the extra star? "They could have offered you a beer." Yes indeed they could have. Therefore I offer this qualification of my five star review: Don't contact them if you were expecting a free beer.

I highly recommend Chicago Locksmiths. Their level of customer service and communication is…read moreexcellent. I called them hoping for a same day appointment. It was late in the day because the original company I called was a no-show. Chicago Locksmiths said they could do it and gave me a same day time window. Excellent communication: The technician called me at the start of the time window to tell me he was on another job, but would be there within 2 hours. This allowed me to get on with my day rather than waiting by the window/the phone (as the other company had left me to do all day). The technician then called me when he had finished the previous job and gave me a time frame of when he would get to me. As it was quite late I decided to reschedule for the next day. The same evening Chicago Locksmiths called me to confirm a next day appointment time. On the morning of my appointment the new technician called to say he was on his way with an ETA for arrival and called when he reached me. The communication was excellent and meant I could do other things because I knew Chicago Locksmith was keeping me updated on the status of my appointment. For the appointment itself, the technician was great. Explained everything, gave me advice on one of the doors which was coming loose off the hinge. Re-keyed my lock quickly and cleaned up afterwards. I will certainly use Chicago Locksmiths again. Great service, and impeccable customer communication!

I sent out a free estimate request via Yelp and received far too many responses…read more My primary, evidently probable Yelp Elite and Yelp All-Star review are based on Yelp and my communication with the owner Shay. Perhaps he is of Irish heritage, I never had the opportunity to find out 1) I have seen over 300 photographs of his work This man is the very BEST if you are only looking for a handyman or have no assistance from even an essentially useless husband in the paint or a long hair clogged shower drain 2) Shay is a LIAR I appreciate that he was willing to drive out to The suburbs of Chicago from all the way East in Logan Square His estimate is NOT free as Yelp guaranteed He requires photographs (easy peasy) of the locks as well as *$45* to even come out to take a look He broke the Yelp Guarantee right there Chicago Locksmiths should be banned from Yelp same as nobody should have voted for Trump. There were zero good choices but at least ond was NOT a babbling dementia suffering 90 yeat old 3) Shay claims the his primary concern is home and auto safety If that were actually true then with photos in hand he has zero reason to have a $45 fee to take a look I have zero reason to take issue with Shay - especially his quality of work All that I know is that Shay LIED to Yelp in order to gain business and if that works for him, then I do not give a fxck I shall not be used I have Elite and All-Star status that I EARNED with Yelp and followers Every single one of my Yelp reviews are shared with Google I sincerely hope that my review discourages anybody and everybody from hiring Chicago Locksmiths
