They are never on time (if your able to get a hold of them), over charge, and are always unreliable and take multiple jobs and then after they have overbooked themselves only show up for the most lucrative job leaving you frustrated and scrambling when a guest is about to check in. Ryan and Valley Isle Handyman though is totally different and hands down is the best handyman I have ever dealt with on island. He shows up when he says, gets the job done right and is very detailed and has helped me tremendously- the best part though is his pricing is always fair and reasonable! While I haven't moved forward with the project yet, my initial experience with Jonathan and Michael has been very positive, and I appreciate the time they spent helping me understand my options.

If I had known about Robert's expertise, I would have consulted him on the door before ordering, which was what he recommended I do next time. Guess what? I believe he is absolutely right! I did check with him on a future door installation that I have planned and I am now super confident with my online purchase. His team was clean and thoughtful. He listened to my ideas, which although weren't complex, my ideas were particular. I appreciated his suggestions and his welcoming attitude when I brought up concerns during the job. He is now my go-to person when I need heavy repair, renovation work around our house, and believe me, in a 25 year old home, there is lots to do! I hesitated writing this review because there is a selfish part of me that wants to keep him a secret! But, Maui peeps, you should support him and his business because we need companies like this. He is a family man, he cared for and supported families escaping the Lahaina fires but STILL managed to keep his appointments. He is very reasonable, offering a lot of value for his time, talent and work. You will not go wrong with hiring him for your next handy man job. I don't offer a lot of 5 stars. But when I do, I do.

In the middle of the job, he said he'd have to come back to finish it on another day, even though he had told me it would be a one day repair. On the day he was supposed to finish it, he texted to cancel so we rescheduled. When he came back the following week to finish the job, he tried to charge me double and explained that he had a minimum charge per visit. I reminded him that it was HIS decision to come back on a second day and he never mentioned he was going to charge me for a 2nd visit. If he had been transparent about that, I would have asked him to finish it on the first day since that's what he quoted me for the repair. He ended up going back to his original quote, but he acted annoyed as if I was haggling with him. Super unprofessional and dishonest, and I would never recommend him to anyone.
