Why do I give them 5 stars? They don't carry the typical senbei or Japanese snacks. You can get…read morethose at other Japanese stores. If you want unique and truly delicious straight from Japan come to this store. They had the cutest cookies with cream and fruit but from Japan and not mandatory to refrigerate. They were delicious. The lady there is super nice and helped me pick an even better piece of produce than I did. Store is clean, and siesta looks good. The bogo is great! Take advantage of that. Oh and their chips from Asia can't be beat. Unique flavors my 96 year old mom loves! Without a doubt you must buy the green onion pancakes by geemate. They are better than restaurant quality. My husband never eats the ones at restaurants but really liked these. These can't be found everywhere either!

I was intrigued by the Japanese grocery store that seemed to have everything a person would need to…read morelead a Japanese dining lifestyle. I was particularly interested in a Facebook article about Japanese Milk Tea Ice Cream. I spoke to the store owner and he showed me what Ice Cream he stocks. He indicated it was not Milk Tea however, and I guess I misread the article. Other items of interest included many Hello Kitty items, slices of quality beef, Japanese vegetables and spices and many packaged goods from Japan. The store is so neat and everything has its place within the store. I felt I was in someone's home, so I was cautious about what I touched. Overall, this market has its place in the San Gabriel Valley, as the catering of Japanese goods helps maintain the customs of Japan and allows those Issei pioneers to maintain their lifestyle.

Let me tell tell you, they're awesome and their food is better! Lechon Kawali 5 stars Lumpia 5 stars Bihon 4 stars ( only because noodles are noodles) BBQ chicken skewers 5 stars Turon with Ube 5 stars. Original are really good too. I've never had Turon so I don't hav e anything to compare it with. Needless to say, I ordered catering from them the following week. Looking forward to trying the pinakbet and canton bihon.

The day when I got to try and taste the beauty of Filipino food. When you enter the family market, you are introduced to the snacks, condiments, drinks, and some decorations about the Filipino culture and tradition and delicious snacks to give to family and friends or for yourself. There were lots of great Filipino snacks to munch on, but I sadly did not get anything. Because my main goal and priority was to try their delicious food. I ordered a to go container and got a lot of delicious proteins and carbs. I would highly recommend this to everyone who has never tried Filipino food, this place is the right place, and the place that you should try first! The staff were very welcoming and happy and excited to serve their customers walking in. 10 out of 10 stars for this Filipino family markets. And I will be back soon! By the way, the TURON is to die for!! my mouth waters every time I think of it.

I probably only visit after eating at Hsin Hsin Shau May (Chinese Fast Food). This place has their…read moreown food area where red beans and creme cakes are made on the spot, and TAIWANESE burrito!!! $4.99 small/$5.99 large Taiwanese Burrito, protein of chicken, pork, or seafood. 1130am-7pm - This looks amazing!!!!! Makes sense!! I love the crepeish tortilla instead. It comes with of course choices of stir fry cabbage, etc. Gosh, total shenanigan food...like what I would have done on college with Chinese leftovers or something. Love that! - I've yet to try it but I intend to another time. It's fast food, not high quality but cheap and filling looking. We actually love Mexican burrito/taco shop, La Azteca, due to their fresh tortillas...reminds me of the crepe like tortilla used in Taiwanese breakfast crepe/egg dish? I wonder if this 99 Ranch's burrito is similar. Red Bean/or Creme Cakes $1.50 each cake, or $6 for 5 cakes. - The red bean/or creme cakes looked okay but due to nostalgia and the SO loving your stuff, we bought some to go. It looked bready with not enough crispy texture and not enough fillings. I don't know any other store that make these anymore except a shop in Little Tokyo LA....those are good. I don't know enough about this 99 ranch to judge among other ones. I only came in to grab some AFC organic firm tofu, Chinese root beer soda and looked for herbal items.

This location in Arcadia, hidden just off the main thoroughfare,…read moregives you what you'd expect from 99 Ranch, just in a bit smaller format as not as well maintained as other locations. This one does have a bakery along with a few small shops in the front, just past the checkout stands. The selection here is not quite as large as the typical 99 Ranch markets, though gives you enough of what you're looking for. Service is as expected, without being overly friendly or dismissive, as some Asian grocery markets can be. All in all, you should find what you need here and with plenty of food options in the surrounding plaza, it may be a one stop shop to get multiple tasks done at once in the area. Not my 1st choice for a 99, though if this is the closest one to you, it gets the job done.
