Beautiful restaurant with very modern decor that feels grand and full of flair. Our server was fantastic and checked on us regularly and gave great recommendations on what to order. We opted for the shabu-shabu only and went with the Diamond Set, which comes with unlimited specialty dishes like sweet shrimp, wagyu tartare, and bone marrow. The appetizers alone were a huge highlight for me. I got several plates of the bone marrow and sweet shrimp, which would have run up a huge tab at most other restaurants, but here were included in the set. The wagyu cuts were phenomenal - rich, tender, and perfectly marbled. I went with the golden chicken broth, which had amazing depth of flavor and paired perfectly with the vegetables and meat. Would definitely come back although I'll probably go for the yakiniku next time since i've already had the shabu experience.

Good service, staff is great and knowledgeable on their Wagyu and how to prep you for cooking it. They don't rush you and they check on you often. I love that you get unlimited meat for a great price. To me, it's a bargain here. I tried both silver hotpot and gold barbecue and both were great but I prefer barbecue. I absolutely LOVE Wagyu so I was excited to see the A5 and Wagyu from not just Japan but also Australia. I felt like I was getting pretty decent meat for the States considering every time I come back from Europe or Africa the meat here tastes like rubber to me. Kudos to good quality meat. Only main downside is the fact that you can't make reservations for barbecue and it can be a long wait. You can wait at the bar and have a drink but it's easy to go over the 2 hour parking limit (for free parking) in the garage when waiting on barbecue, so try to go during the week versus weekends so you can take advantage of some of the happy hour specials and less crowded days/nights if you're into the discount thing. Seniors get 15% discount. Chubby Club for discount is worth it IF you plan on returning, but it also even pays for itself really. I'll be back.

Been here a few times for both shabu and bbq, and truthfully never been too impressed. For shabu, the spicy Sichuan Wagyu broth is pretty decent and flavorful, the golden chicken broth was a little bland. I'd say the spicy sichuan is more flavorful than Happy Lamb's, but the golden chicken here is not similar to happy lamb's golden cabbage broth whatsoever so don't get that idea!! The meat seems like good quality but the veggies and other sides are very limited compared to other hot pot places. No fish balls, pumpkin, watercress, etc.. it's nice to have nigiri and everything but for the price, I think I'd go to happy lamb instead for shabu/hot pot. Great quality of meat for bbq, no complaints. I love the handrolls and sushi! Although some items are not quite as flavorful as other places, like the corn cheese. The ice cream is great though lol I'd give the food 4 stars but the service is usually veryyy slow. Even if the restaurant is empty, there's always a wait to be seated lol. Ordered a soda refill, finally got it after following up a third time. Meats come out slow and you end up getting full waiting for it. The restaurant itself is very clean and on the fancier side, the ambiance is nice. But not my go-to for bbq or shabu/hot pot, I really want to like this place but I think there are better options for the price you pay.

I want to reiterate other comments I've seen. We've been here a handful of times and even got membership but I must say and both my husband and I feel that the time you REORDER the Jap A5 Wagyu? They no longer give you Japanese version. The taste is different. Like you are being given lower tier meat since there's no way for customers to really differentiate but believe me the taste is different. And even the meats look different! There's an after taste. I've tasted it before my husband said the same thing the next time we went which gave me the reason to write this. I've cancelled My membership because of this. Membership are automatic by the way. I had to email 3x to get my money back. I'd never go back. 3 stars for the servers and other food we ate.

Excellent service from Eric! We sat at the bar for happy hour and we loved our experience. Such a great happy hour! 3 appetizers for $15 and then a choice of 3 sushi items for $25. Happy hour is Monday thru Thursday 6-8pm. Friday 5-7pm. Delicious food and cocktails. Crispy fries, and excellent nigiri. Tasty gyoza, and crunchy fried spring rolls. We also tried the wagyu nigiri off the regular menu and wow!!! Phenomenal!!!! Gorgeous restaurant!!! So cool, modern, sleek, and inviting. I definitely want to return for a hot pot dinner. I'll definitely be a regular at happy hour too.

If you ever find yourself unable to decide what to eat, Wagyu House is the perfect solution. Having sushi, hot pot, and barbecue all in one spot makes it ideal for groups or anyone who wants a little bit of everything. Service was extremely attentive and fast. Plates were cleared quickly and drinks were always refilled. The atmosphere is lively and great for a night out. The food was good but not quite at the level of a restaurant that focuses only on sushi or hot pot. Still, the variety, quality of the meats, and overall experience make this place worth visiting.

In Chicago for vacation was was craving meat Service was really efficient! We came with only 1 hour left of food call and I promise you we had way too much to eat (they have a 90 min time limit). We chose silver just because of the time limit and we have 0 regrets. Everything was fresh and seasoned well (not drenched in sauce) The grill was great charocoal We also got their wagyu bimbimbap which was pretty good not too filling and their spicy miso soup for end of meal. OKAY BUT ALSO THE WAGYU CURRY WAS SOO GOOD Also don't sleep on the bone marrow!! Ambiance: clean. I wish there was a little bit better ventilation though! Only thing I wished they had were bonchons! They had kimchi and an app and sauce bar though!

Went in for lunch with one of my bestie's (youngest daughter) and we ordered the silver hot pot special, it was $55 p/p, comes with soda and ice cream. Well worth the price and it is all you can eat in 90 minutes. The Wagyu beef and seafood were delicious, nice variety of broth to chose from. An attentive team works to ensure your experience is top notch. Upscale look and atmosphere, great for date night or just congregating with friends and the music was on point, Period! We will be back, our greeter/server was amazing! Like just one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in awhile. Should you go, you will not be disappointed.

My boyfriend and I are fully committed to making the most of our Chubby Cattle membership by visiting as many locations as we can in California and Chicago -- and this visit did not disappoint! We were craving yakiniku (Japanese BBQ) and decided to try Wagyu House on Valentine's Day. Just a heads up: they take walk-ins only -- no reservations or Yelp waitlist -- so you have to arrive in person and put your name down with the hostess. We arrived around 5:45 PM and were seated at about 8:00 PM, so expect around a 2-hour wait. My tip: come early, add your name to the list, and go shopping nearby! They'll text you and give you about 10 minutes to return. The service was absolutely amazing -- huge shoutout to Ting! He was incredibly attentive, personable, and gave excellent recommendations. We especially loved all the Australian Wagyu cuts he suggested. Everything was delicious, and the experience felt elevated because of how well we were taken care of. Thank you, Ting, for the fantastic service! We had a great time and will definitely be back.

We had a nice Yakiniku Set Menu dinner on the patio at Xpot Chicago. The meal consisted of: Mushrooms, Lettuce, 12 oz each of Rib Eye, Sterling steak, Short Rib, Masami Finger meat, Masami Zabuton steak, and Masami top Sirloin They bring a small grill to your table so you cook your own food. This meal is billed as being for four people. The pictures that you see are close up so it looks like they're is a lot of food. There isn't. There was only 3 of us and there was not enough food for us. We all left hungry. It's a nice experience but be prepared to either order extra or go somewhere afterwards to eat some more food.

Yining D.

Pricey, but you definitely get your money's worth of A5 wagyu meat. My friends and I did the gold tier which was around $78 per person. To make a reservation for 5 or more people for Japanese bbq, you put down a reservation fee of $20 per person. The appetizers were yummy. Nothing mind blowing but being able to get AYCE nigiri is pretty great value. The rice texture was a little hard for me. My personal favorites were the salmon nigiri, the seared salmon nigiri, and the yellow tail carpaccio. Our server did an amazing job. He was super attentive, courteous, relatable and funny. Shout out to Danny! Thanks for taking great care of our table, especially when we had a 2 year old to entertain. I highly recommend coming to X Pot to celebrate special occasions. The wagyu meat is high quality and melts in your mouth. You can definitely overcook it, so make sure to watch the meat, especially the thinner slices. The standouts were the chuck ribeye, the beef tongue, the ribeye steak, and the shoulder cut. You get 2 hours of validated parking so you kind of have to make sure you time everything well with the check and eating at Wagyu House. If you stay longer than 2 hours, then the parking garage will charge you $11 for anytime that's 2-4 hours.

Jessica L.

Wow!!! The food here is incredible. They have AYCE curry and sushi pieces along with other side dishes. The wagyu is also delicious. We did hotpot, and the meat was super tender and melted in your mouth. We did the most basic tier and it was still enough to make everyone full! The cocktails were also very creative and delicious. I like that you can walk around and grab food while also asking the servers for extra items. Great for celebrations!

I was pretty skeptical since I'm more of an AYCE hotpot person; however, I learned that HaiDilao offers a late night deal of $24.99 for sirloin, lamb, pork belly, and chicken. This deal seems pretty worth it since it's like you're paying less than half the price of the original costs. One of the main star dishes we get is the lobster fish balls, and they're a must try! Something about them being filled with lobster and roe makes it so tasty and umami. There's a sauce bar with some goodies and snacks as well. I don't like how you have to pay for the sauce bar, but it makes up for it with the amount of items you get there. Additionally, you have to be aware that the soup base is priced based on how many you get as well. The service was just amazing the last time we went since the waiter was always smiling and always made sure he poured my water when it was empty. Additionally, we said a special phrase that complimented their soup base, and he gave us a tomato soup base packet to take home!!! The ambiance is very nice here, and you can really tell that they keep the area very clean. They have robots bringing your food as well, so that's an experience. The only concern is that there's no parking, so it's a little hard to find parking nearby.

Everybody at the table must order the same level of menu, and once you get there, you can see why. We all agreed upon the ultimate, and we're rapidly seated. The server understood instantly that we were rookies, and was helpful and pleasant for our entire adventure. He showed us how to place the orders for the broth pots that are used to cook the various items. He also showed us how to place the orders for more of the all-you-can-eat items. In addition to the meats and special items that came from ordering, there is a conveyor belt that contains more items such as pastas, vegetables, and things like tofu, fish, and other things. We each chose a different broth, and you have controls it your table that control an induction cooktop to heat it up to your preferred level. The only complaint I had about the entire visit is that the controls are hard to access. You have to bend down since they are under the edge of your table, and they are not intuitive. So you have to look at them. It is difficult. That is my only complaint. The broth I got which was mushroom based was very good. The meats were things like ribeye, New York strip, brisket, pork, shoulder, chicken, and you would toss them into the cooking broth for a number of seconds pull them out, and they would be cooked to perfection. Grabbing things off of the conveyor was extremely easy, and they managed to keep it full. Delivery of the meat items was achieved using a second train system that would stop at your table and you would unload your little items and begin using them. Very automated. You ordered off of a touchscreen, your items arrived at your table within two minutes. Again, I cannot say enough about the service. It was extremely fast! The server who personally handled our table was outstanding! The food was delicious, in the atmosphere was wild. The walls were covered with Japanese anime art, and the music was a mixture of Japanese pop and K-pop, with a little hip-hop thrown in for fun. The all you can eat model meant that our prices were still quite reasonable. Like most oriental all you can eat, they do expect you only need to grab what you will eat. They're not big on wasting food. And I don't blame them. Their prices are reasonable. Unlike conveyor belt sushi, where you pay by every plate you grabbed, here you are paying for the ultimate experience. This was an outstanding adventure. It is located next to the entrance gate to Chicago's Chinatown. The atmosphere is pleasant. It has a stylish "heavy" look (heavy in a positive sense: sturdy tables with stone/marble tabletops, sturdy chairs -- and benches for more than four people at a table -- and wooden paneled walls and ceilings that make you feel cozy). It projects a vibe of an old Chinese place where you could go and get a hefty meal. The staff is pleasant and fast moving. An overall experience is warm. The drawback seems to be that there are no coat hangers/hooks, which were replaced by cheap plastic see-through bins, into which you are supposed to stash your coats. I was wondering what you are supposed to do when it is pouring or snowing outside? We ordered several food choices to complete a vegetarian/carnivorous setup which included three kinds of broths (spicy, neutral meat (pork), and mushroom). Since the hot pot came with three separate compartments, there was no conflict there. The ordering is easy and computerized where on a provided tablet you indicate your choices and, when you are done deciding, "send" then into the ether (kitchen). The broths arrived first and then the food choices follower soon thereafter. Note: it always is a good idea to order the broth ahead of time, since it takes it a while to boil and get ready for food sinking. The negatives were few: - the restaurant projects a sturdy, middle price ranged environment, but the china was plastic. Plastic "glasses" held water, plastic plates were ready for your eating experience. The food choices/ingredients, to a pleasant surprise, arrived sliced and diced on regular china; - the sauce corner required an additional change. Although it is "only" additional $1.99 per person, the restaurant does NOT offer any sauces that are included in the initial offering -- not even basic soy sauce, barbecue sauce and/or oyster sauce. I cannot imagine eating hot pot food with nothing to flavor the ingredients with, which basically meant that you needed to shell out the "sauce charge." Although you will get a variety of choices for your $1.99 payment, it is difficult to accept that the hot pot restaurant would not offer any condiments that are included in the price of the food. This concept left a strange taste in my mouth. - some of the food was cut unevenly which contributed to an uneven boiling time with one side of a piece being overcooked while the other still needed cooking. Towards a latter part of the meal a waiter appeared asking if we wanted to add more broth to the pot, and upon our joyous "yes" poured the pork broth into the spicy broth diluting its spiciness. Fortunately the vegetarian-mushroom broth got its own mushroom broth fill. The end result is mixed: a decent quality food with a so-so eating experience that could be significantly increased tending to few small details. The food is priced mid-range on a bit of an expensive side -- I managed to go to different hot pot places where the final bill was lower and the quality of food/service the same. The rating is also mixed getting overall three stars. I hope this will be helpful to those considering going there. Thank you.

The best hot pot in the city!…read more Every meat and veggie option is absolutely delicious. The spice levels are no joke -- as someone who grew up eating spicy food, even the 2-star had me feeling the heat, so proceed with caution! That said, if you love spice, go all in. The staff is incredibly attentive, always on top of every request, making the experience seamless and efficient. A must-try spot that delivers on every level. Highly recommend!
