The sites are decent size, but they are tight if you've got somebody sitting right next to you, but still plenty of room for your slides and such. There are picnic tables at all the spots, as well as as there are two small cabins that can be rented if you are traveling with people who do not have a camper. This campground is clean and well kept and the staff were very friendly! They were super helpful with anything that we needed. You do have a bit of road noise from hwy 60 as well as there are trains nearby but a fan running drowned most of that out noise. WiFi was ok- we tended to get booted off a couple times in the evening when a lot of people were at the campground. Verizon was 2 to 3 bars and a little more reliable. There's a laundry room with three washers three dryers at $1.75 a load and everything worked great. All the services at the site worked great. You are about 10 minutes from the town of Clovis and there is plenty of shopping, a planet fitness For a good workout as well as tons of restaurants. We wanted to visit the rock 'n' roll museum here, but they are closed for renovations as of the date of this review.

But I have to mention for those of you out there who are sensitive to noise like me that about 4:30 in the morning this high-pitched noise started I believe from the factory and the trains over in the video I attached if you have an RV that doesn't have really thick walls. This could be a problem. I attached it so you could hear it cause maybe you'll decide that it wouldn't bother you. It was not happening when we went to sleep. Everything else about this place is absolutely perfect though.

We were in site nine, which actually has a pretty private little area for your stay as well as as a picnic table that had a shelter over it. They do have a pool as well as a nice size laundry room with four washers and four dryers everything operated on quarters. It was two dollars to wash a load at $1.25 for 45 minutes of drying. They did offer us a menu when we arrive for a barbecue restaurant. I've included a picture of that, but the prices were really high so we did not partake. They were friendly at check-in as well. You were just a couple miles from the small town of Santa Rosa, looks like they have events and stuff happening down there so might want to check out the local calendar. We also found a little gym called Lyons heart that would let you do a day pass for $10, you can see that review separately. The electrical and water are for 2 spaces together. The water is on the same faucet with a so called splitter. Old unused electrical above on pole hanging exposed. Picnic table falling apart - we had to move it because it was hanging in the space when we went to pull in. Over priced as well. We stayed at 6 other KOA's that were all much nicer and all were $25 to $30 less. Also there's no way to connect your coach to WiFi as those system is antiquated. Skip this KOA.

We have a 42ft RV plus our truck length. It was a pull through, which made it easy when staying one night and not wanting to unhook. Crazy woman with a dog lives at this park. Beware! She followed my kids and I to our RV. My husband came out of the RV and told her to leave that she was making our son and us uncomfortable. She was desperate to get my son close to her and her dog. We went to the office to complain and the women was in there complaining that we were to loud but quite hour ended at 7am. We left... not family friendly keep it moving. This isn't the first time she has done this. I went on to look at the parks reviews and there you go another person saying she followed them to there RV.

You don't accidentally end up at Bottomless Lakes State Park you make the choice to drift a little…read moreoff the grid. It's a short drive out of Roswell, but it feels like you've stepped into a quieter, older story. Legend says they tried to measure the lake with ropes tied end to end and never hit bottom. Maybe that's true. Maybe it's just a good tale told over a couple beers. Either way, standing there, staring into that dark water, you start to feel it--that little itch in your brain that wonders if everything you've been told is only half the story. We rolled in like we knew what we were doing cooler packed, grill fired up, chicken skewers sizzling, jalapeño poppers snapping over the flame, and my buddy throwing together something that leaned suspiciously close to Hawaiian poke. No crowds. No noise but what we brought with us. Bose speaker cranked, music bouncing off the water, beers cracking open one after another like punctuation marks in a long, lazy sentence. It wasn't polished. It wasn't fancy. It was just right. That's the thing about a place like this it doesn't try to impress you. It just sits there, quiet and a little mysterious, letting you project whatever story you came with. Some of it feels real. Some of it feels like the kind of myth you tell because reality isn't quite enough. Either way, it sticks with you. Bottom line off the beaten path, a little rough around the edges, and exactly the kind of place that earns its spot on the list.

Just outside of Roswell is a wonderful camping park surrounded by Pecos Diamonds, short trails, and…read moreswimming holes. We just dropped in during the winter months on a beautiful sunny afternoon to watch the NM sun go down over the west horizon. We stopped by the visitor center and met volunteers, Will and Jody. Let me just say they were super friendly and knowledgeable about the park. When we come back it will certainly be because of these awesome hosts...they were living their best lives. I was jealous. We drove over to a couple of the lakes. We checked out Mirror Lake and the Devil's Inkwell. They both had small trails around them to view the watering hole and the surrounding layers of red quartz on limestone. The area around Lea Lake is better set up for picnics, swimming, and water sports. It was closed for the season, but would open in the Spring. Tip: Make a reservation for space during the warmer months. It was a great outdoor distraction just outside Roswell. Beautiful sunsets, and super calm during the winter.
