We try to go to KOA campgrounds because they have the most convenient app for getting a reservation online if you want. There is always a late check in and your paperwork is usually located on the front porch of the KOA building. Last night we checked in about 10:30 and we were traveling all day from Flagstaff Az to Tucumcari NM. Our paperwork was waiting for us and we had a full hookup site with Cable TV. This is a KOA Journey and is was right off I-40 and so convenient to get to. This morning we were able to order breakfast which was quite reasonable. It was the first time we ate outside in 17 days! Thank you KOA Tucumcari! We love supporting local businesses wherever we go!

Great spot, Got right in and set up. They serve meals right to your site from a menu with enough choices for adult and kids which made eating easy. Playground for kids could use some work but overall enjoyed the stay. Would recommend to anyone passing through.

Came in late about midnight. Called ahead and voicemail was very informative with directions. Came in easy set up. Campground is well maintained and lots for the kids to do while we got ready to leave. A wonderful place to set up for the night.

It's a Journey KOA...the gents were friendly and helpful on check-in, the facility was clean, but it's tight and the grass etc could use some help. Great for an overnight. Bonus though when a thunder shower rolled through and caught a rainbow after...

Saw this cute little fellow by the laundry mat. He was just minding his own business.

This lake (to those from New Mexico to others it maybe a pond) is big enough that you don't feel crowded. The water on a clear day is like glass. You can tear it up on a jet ski! The camp sites range from being able to rent it all they way to bringing your most luxurious RV. There is something for everyone. For the clamper camper there is a bathroom and shower place. It is the prefect getaway for a long weekend. Who would not want to spend the day on the lake and an evening under the stars. The only down side is there is not a lot of shade so make sure you pack a lot of sun screen. Being those sun shades as well. "Here fishy, fishy" that's right not only can you jet ski, wakeboard, and water ski but the fishing is pretty good. Tons of places to fish. There are a variety of fish from Bass to Walleye. Bring your fishing poles and gear. It most likely will pay off. Pack up the family and enjoy the fun. Make sure you bring cash. There is a charge per vehicle at the campsites. You can always phone a friend and ride together.

I ordered the beef steak fajitas, I would have to truly say they were the best fajitas I have ever eaten. The meat was tender and seasoned to perfection, with fresh grilled peppers and onions. The restaurant was clean, fresh and full of friendly life. It is well worth the drive from Albuquerque. Once again.....Hats off!! Tom Keller

Out of potato salad. Pulled pork definitely needed to add the sauce. Maybe a bad day but not for all the meats. I think they need to try some real bbq and then they will know. We arrived tired and super stressed after just driving through a horrific hail and tornado storm in North Texas. In addition to the storm and possible hail damage on our roof, our AC compressor gave out so we had no AC. I had called the park earlier because I wasn't sure we'd make it by closing and was assured (by Chris) there were "many spaces" available and to "come in in" and that he will "come around." We arrived, I checked the reserved spots on the board, grabbed the map and registration envelope and went to see what our choices were. Husband picked one and I immediately got out to go pay (I had paperwork in my hand) and this nasty, ill-tempered man rolled up on a golf cart and berated me for entering the park. This was after he earlier told me to "come on in" and that he will "come around." He then told us we had to move our RV and that no dogs are allowed in the front section of the park which seems odd as the rules do not indicate that at all. Due to his rude, nasty and unwelcoming temperament we decided to leave and then he got even nastier and more rude. Too bad because we wanted to check out the town, we left town due to his aggressive and bullying behavior. Unfortunate way to end our 4000 mile road trip.

But I have to mention for those of you out there who are sensitive to noise like me that about 4:30 in the morning this high-pitched noise started I believe from the factory and the trains over in the video I attached if you have an RV that doesn't have really thick walls. This could be a problem. I attached it so you could hear it cause maybe you'll decide that it wouldn't bother you. It was not happening when we went to sleep. The sites are decent size, but they are tight if you've got somebody sitting right next to you, but still plenty of room for your slides and such. There are picnic tables at all the spots, as well as as there are two small cabins that can be rented if you are traveling with people who do not have a camper. This campground is clean and well kept and the staff were very friendly! They were super helpful with anything that we needed. You do have a bit of road noise from hwy 60 as well as there are trains nearby but a fan running drowned most of that out noise. WiFi was ok- we tended to get booted off a couple times in the evening when a lot of people were at the campground. Verizon was 2 to 3 bars and a little more reliable. There's a laundry room with three washers three dryers at $1.75 a load and everything worked great. All the services at the site worked great. You are about 10 minutes from the town of Clovis and there is plenty of shopping, a planet fitness For a good workout as well as tons of restaurants. We wanted to visit the rock 'n' roll museum here, but they are closed for renovations as of the date of this review.
