The breakfast was delicious! I got the ham & egg breakfast sandwich and my son got the cinnamon roll french toast. Both were terrific. Our server was also friendly and attentive. Great find. We'll be back if we're ever in Needles again. read more

Had lunch here today, Ordered the roastbeef sandwich and a bacon cheese burger with two ice teas. The food was just ok with small portions for the prices. The decor is very old which is not that big of deal if the food was better. Nice waitress giving ok service. All in all the place didn't grab me. Looks like a good place for locals who don't get out of town much - But , judge for yourself. read more

Get the pie... my soup tasted odd and the guy next to me said the pot roast skillet was inedible... but the pies were amazing.. tasted homemade and not overly sweet so you could really enjoy the baked fruit inside with a flakey savory crust read more

I'm a sucker for roadside Americana and this charming joint delivered on that front. Definitely unique and not a chain restaurant. Based on reviews I ordered the pot roast which was a stretch for me anyway. It was totally gross. Smothered in gravy, the extremely salty meat was fatty and chewy. Thankfully the green beans and potatoes were ok so the meal wasn't a total loss. My friend ordered an omelette (breakfast anytime here) which is def the way to go. Pretty decent biscuits. The staff was friendly and attentive. I'd revisit this place if i had to eat but I'd stick to the basics like breakfast or a sandwich. read more

Food was great, home cooking just like Mom makes. My husband had chicken fried steak w mashed potatoes, very good. I had pot roast w mashed potatoes, it was wonderful!!! Kids had chicken strips and a cheese burger. Both delicious. Service was nice, waitress was very pleasant. We can't wait to come back and visit. Passed through Needles on our way to Flagstaff. It was late and we had been driving all day and were famished. Pickings were looking slim so we were ecstatic to come across Wagon Wheel. At first, I was hesitant to go here because the decorations of the building seems tacky and a little run down. However, I'm glad that I had given it a try. The food was delicious. The decorations of the restaurant is eccentric with lots of western signs, odd bottles, books, and toys. I ordered the hot wings. The hot wings were nice. I like it that it had a generous amount of buffalo sauce on it but the meat of some of the drum sticks were tough. I think delicious hot wings to die for is saucy and moist. Believe me once you have that you can't ever look at bland, boring, dry drum sticks the same way again. My bf had the meatloaf and it was out of this world. Geshes Christ. I think they put crack in it because it taste really really good. It has a heavy meat flavor with a delicious umami sauce. The mash potatoes that came with the meatloaf had this spinach cream on it and damn that stuff makes your mouth go into an orgasmic shock of yummy taste overload. read more

The worst part of the meal was they expected me to maintain my appetite while be being forced to hear and see the newscaster nightmares and fake step ford wives nastiness, that are on Fox news..Why turn your place of business into a political forum? What a nice place, diversified menu and friendly staff with easy parking. Our waitress (from Bangor Maine) was a sweetheart. I had the chicken fried chicken which was breaded and cooked on a grill (as opposed to normal deep frying) it was delicious. This place is pretty solid for breakfast. The design gives it a small town, old time feel. The breakfast potatoes were great. I hardly had a chance to drink half my coffee before it got refilled. They have interesting items to look through in an adjacent store as well. Stopped here on the drive from LA area. Place is rustic Rt. 66 with all kinds of old photos. The service was fast and very friendly. Do yourself a favor. Forget all the chain restaurants that you see, and go to the wagon wheel. Super cool, local flavor. Easy access on off Highway 66/40. And the food is very good for being in the middle of the desert! Best part is the staff; the service is excellent here. read more

This restaurant has expected Route 66 kitsch, decently fast and friendly service, but terrible food and even worse prices for what you get. If they redo the menu (small fix) or get new cooks (better fix) they'll do themselves a huge favor. read more

The place is nice as are the people. A sign said voted best on Route 66. If it is I'm rather sad. I got the tri tip and honestly wasn't at all impressed. I've had bbq and tri tip all over the country and I can honestly say it might be the worst I've had. I don't mean this review in any kind of malicious way only being honest with my oppinion. We had lunch last week on the way back from Grand Canyon per YELP's recommendation, My husband, I and our little girl shared Chicken Fried steak with biscuits and gravy, Pot roast melt sandwich. Huevos Ranchero was delicious. Chicken fried steak was very good. Carrie was on top of things as our server, and did not hesitate when asked about the Huevos Rancheros. She said it was one of the favorites, and it proved to be one of mine as well. People were friendly and service was awsome. We will be back to try some of the many items on the menu. This place is a good place to stop for diner breakfast, with a hearty pancakes, biscuits, and omelettes kind of menu. But the really great thing about the Wagon Wheel is the atmosphere. It's a real trucker and biker stop - we were the only tourists in the place and surrounded by all these huge mostly male customers, we felt like anyone could snap us like a twig. But it wasn't intimidating. We felt welcome and comfortable in the friendly atmosphere. Our waitress was super-friendly and didn't even blink an eye when my husband asked her to find out if the biscuits were made with Crisco or lard. (Crisco, it turns out, so veggie friendly). Plus, there's a cute little shop next door which will serve all of your Route 66 memorabilia needs. read more

Being from the little town just across the river from Needles CA I grew up coming to small business restaurants. I can say this place most definitely has a great price range and although it is a diner atmosphere the people here are just amazing to talk with. Nothing beats a small little place to visit while passing through on the I-40 in hopes of returning back to our homes. Instead of stopping by a fast food place stop in here for a nice hamburger stop in for some wonderful home cooked food that hits the spot! read more

I had the pot roast dinner and it was GREAT! We stopped here on our way to Arizona from Vegas it was definitely worth it. Highly recommend this place and also the Chicken Parmesan the sauce is to die for. read more
