Great spot you stop for a meal! We saw this place on our way to Laughlin and knew we had to stop on the way back home. My wife loved the cowboy burrito, my son loved his cinnamon roll French toast, and I got the "the big mess". Everything was delicious! I never write restaurant reviews unless they are really exceptional and Wagon Wheel is. We ate dinner at the Wagon Wheel in Needles last night. It was not much of a place to look at but OMG the food was incredible. I've never, ever eaten apple pie that I considered an equal to mine, especially in a restaurant. Before I even took a bite I knew it was a great pie as I put my fork into the crust and it was flaky so I knew things were headed in the right direction. The first bite confirmed what I had already suspected......a pure delightful delicious surprise. The meal started with the highly recommended pot roast with mashed potatoes, cheese biscuit and fresh green beans. The pot roast was melt in your mouth tender with just right seasoning, smothered with homemade brown gravy and fresh cooked mashed to perfection potatoes also covered with the delicious gravy. Hubby had a huge salad that was topped with grilled to perfection chicken. He never uses a dressing on his salad and always asks for it on the side. As he eats he'll maybe dip an occasional bite into the dressing, not tonight, after the first dip he poured the dressing over his salad, saying it was fantastic. Waitress told us everything down to grinding the meats is done in house. This is definitely a place we will return to. read more

It's really nice when you come across a nice place like this in the middle of nowhere. Now, when you go to a new place and go to a restaurant there, it's not always easy to tell if you love the place or not -- food aside, it's difficult to get a sense of the restaurant's vibe. This place? You'll love. There's nothing really special about this place, but you can tell that the folks running the place love what they're doing. Everyone there seemed happy. The food? Yes, pretty good. I had the Wagon Wheel Omelette (beans and chili and cheddar, with onions). Right portion and darn good. The home fries were yum. My friend had a tuna melt, and potato salad as side -- was good. They also have a shop that sells typical Route 66 souvenirs, maps, books, etc. If you're on route 66 or close to Needles, you better go here! read more

Came in here while driving across country and looking for a decent eating place in Needles for dinner. This place was definitely worth the stop with good food, friendly (even flirty waitresses) and funny memorabilia hanging around the shop. Not the most overwhelming dinner selection. My dad ordered a chef's salad & I had Chicken Strips Dinner and everything came out good. There are some interesting customers passing through and they have a great gift shop selling a wide swath of Route 66 memorabilia. read more

Ok, we are in Needles. We r not happy and we r very hungry. Really, fast food? We looked at the Wagon Wheel and decided to roll the dice. The best. My boyfriend used to eat here as a kid, so he was excited to bring me here on our way to Arizona for my birthday weekend. Super cute place with an extensive menu....so much to choose from. Our waitress was super and helped me decide! The broccoli cheese soup was to die for. Yummy and cheesy - I could have easily ordered another cup! I had the pork cutlet with gravy, baked potato and green beans. Home cooking that reminded me of my Grandma's. My BF had the chicken fried steak with mash and lots of gravy! Both of us devoured our meals and were stuffed....but they have PIE and it was my birthday! Sooooo, I had a HUGE slice of chocolate cream pie. It was decadent and delicious! Can you say diamond in the rough?! Needles isn't exactly a town we have ever considered for lunch. We either eat in Havasu or Barstow but this time our timing was way off so we didn't have a choice. I was kind of nervous! Jedro's was soooooooo good! It's your typical diner fare, but homemade and thoughtfully prepared. I had a pot roast sandwich with deliciously flavored tender pot roast. My husband had a great hamburger with fresh bacon (I hate when places use leftover bacon from the morning) and the kids had a burger and peanut butter and jelly. We also ordered a fantastic looking and tasting side salad with homemade ranch :) Service was friendly and prompt. The prices fit the food. Some may say they are a little high, but I didn't even flinch because we totally got what we paid for. read more

if youre driving back from Havasu, you NEED to stop by this place! the food was decent, but i didnt expect it to be out of this world. i got the 2+2+2- eggs, bacon, pancakes. the scrambled eggs were done right, the bacon was well done like i like it (i also got some sausage! that was good too) and the pancakes were thin and fluffy. the real winner here is the decor. it looks like this place has been here forever! its right off of the freeway on Route 66. my wife was on Yelp, looking for places to eat when she came across this place. what a find!! the wait staff was pretty good but also had the attitude of an old time diner. AND, the joke books on the tables were HILARIOUS! i dont know if we'll be coming here any time soon...but i recommend it if youre nearby. read more

The food was awesome, the decor was fabulously Route 66 kitsch, and it totally smelled like my great grandma's house. Also strangely enough it had excellent Wi-Fi. The only thing I would change would be their bathrooms: there were no changing tables, and for people who've driven hundreds of miles (and if you're driving through Needles, CA you have driven hundreds of miles) with a baby a changing table is really nice. Just enjoyed another great breakfast at the Wagon Wheel. My wife and I make it a point to stop in here every time we come to the desert. We love their lunch and dinner Pot Roast! Even though there were lots of folks eating when we arrived at 9:30 am, wait staff were great and food arrived fairly quickly. The Route 66 decor, friendly staff, and well portioned delicious food consistently encourage our return, and their prices are definitely lower than the place across the street! Truckers enjoy super easy in and out to and from the freeway. Headed west now, back to the chaos of So Cal! read more

Take a step back in time when you arrive at the Wagon Wheel, it's an old school diner with a friendly wait staff, huge portions at a fair price.
