Servers are ways friendly and food is good. I'm pretty bummed that the fried food is fried in the same oil as shellfish and I have a shellfish allergy so I can't truly have what I want to try! But I guess I can settle for the other items. read more

My family and I stopped to have dinner before hitting the road. Wagon wheel seemed like a good choice. First thing we noticed was the amount of dust behind each seat next to the glass dividers, which ok times are hard so not going to ding them for that. However a quick damp rag could solve that one. We ordered burgers and parts were well done, other sections were super pink. All within the same previously frozen patty. Service was ok, the waitress was nice when we actually saw her. We went to the restroom (they have 2 sets we all went to both) and none of them have soap anywhere to be found. Kind of made us question the hygiene practices that are going on with something as simple as soap missing. It's not the worst place to eat, just if you are super picky and/ or a germ freak maybe find another option. read more

This restaurant is indeed dog friendly, however the kicker is, there are no outdoor seating, so you'll have to bring your dog(s) inside the restaurant. Yes - dogs stay with you inside the restaurant. Taken aback, I asked a waitress the idea behind this and she informed me that it gets either really cold or hot in Needles, making it unsuitable for dogs to stay outside, so they just let dogs hang out inside the restaurant instead. Fair enough! We traveled with our Doberman and Frenchie, so we got a fair share of uncomfortable looks. The waitresses that served us were the best. Not only did they calm down our hysterical autistic child down and gave water to our dogs, she helped recommend a few local favorites on the menu. During our dine-in here, I think 4-5 waitresses came to say hi to our dogs and just spark a conversation about our Doberman. An elderly couple that sat across from us also took interest in our dogs and started a friendly conversation with us. The place can be described as an old-school diner trapped in time serving fresh diner food from family kept recipes. The food was delicious and filling. We'll definitely stop by again if we find ourselves on the way to Sedona again, but not with dogs next time! read more

Probably the best place to eat in Needles. Portions ain't bad and prices are average for a sit-down diner in a small town. The quality's definitely there as well. I've had probably only one or two meals that I thought could have been better, but overall it's a solid place to go. If anyone wants a place to eat any time of the day on that side of the river, the Wagon Wheel's where I'd recommend they go. Though I do wish more of the food was prepared fresh. However I understand that'd be hard to do in the middle of the desert. Would be worth it though. read more

I ate at this place twice yesterday. The reason for only 3 stars was for the all around incompetence of the evening staff. The morning staff was much better. The place was crazy busy but the waitresses had no problems handling it. Cooks knew how to do their jobs properly as well. However big failure later that evening. Wasn't near as busy yet the geezer waitresses acted like they couldn't handle it. Like waiting way to l Iong to come around for your order. I as sked for the burrito, wet, with sour cream. Along with chips and salsa which actually cost extra. What? The chips kept not coming out despite the waitress walking by numerous times knowing full well I was waiting for them. Until finally she was appollogetic and said she was gonna ask the cook again. Well why didn't you do that many times ago? Jill! They finally came out and were limp. What? Why am am I waiting so long for my my burrito? Close to half hour! Finally here it comes. No sour cream and wait until finally a different waitress comes so I can flag her down for some. Then the burrito was only Luke warm. After all that time the cook was making it. Jill was nowhere to be seen until finally came by again. Asked to take it back and heat it up. Came back way to fast. Was just slightly warmer. Jill asked if she can take it back t warm it up more. No i will just deal with it! Oh, attention truck drivers. Ate at this iconic restaurant on our road trip. Staff was wonderful. We were there on a weekday morning and it was pretty quiet. We had a large group and all agreed the food was good- not the best ever but a really good breaky stop. Biscuit with gravy as a side was great and the coffee was good and our awesome waitress kept it full. Prices were slightly inflated as expected but portions were also huge. I stopped here on my road trip back East since it was time to eat. I found this place by searching it on Google because I saw on the road Needles was the next big city. It has a small gift shop when you come in and there is a bar area and a TV with football on in the main dining room. It is self seating and the service was pretty fast and the food was hot. The employees are nice. The restaurant is across the street from the gas stations and is located off the only exit in Needles with civilization. read more

Truck Driver Approved* Friendly from the front desk to the waitstaff. Large Tv in dining area. Warm decor. Homestyle meals that look as if Grandma or your Great Aunt made your plate. I was glad I was at the end of shift when I ate here because I became very sleepy after that large meal. This was like eating at home if you were raised in the south or had a family that loved to feed you. I had the Pot Roast Skillet. I added the order of Green Beans. The green beans were cooked the way they should be- not mushy, not too tough but still have that firm bite so you can be sure you're getting your much needed nutritional vitamins from them. The tender pot roast sit upon a mountain of creamy mashed potatoes. This dish comes with mushrooms and onions. I will definitely be back here. Also, there's a gift shop with plenty of Route 66 memorabilia. Tip for the truckers- the parking is a little tricky. If you're coming from California heading towards Arizona, when you get off the exit to get here, ride past the restaurant, turn left onto that skinny driveway then follow that left into an even more narrow driveway and follow that behind the building and then boom your now parked in their parking lot. Hope that helped and didn't confuse you. You can always park across the street behind the gas station. There's a parking lot back there for us too. *oh I gave it 4 stars due to the fresh garlic amount I wasn't expecting so I had heartburn after that delicious dinner. read more

Now I make it a point not to base a bad review on one meal, but I just have to make an exception for this one. First of all, the service was really poor. Yes, they were busy, but that is not an excuse. It took a long time for the waitress (who forgot to bring me a glass of iced tea that I had ordered), to take our orders. Then she got into a brouhaha with another waitress, while our food was ready and getting cold. A third waitress finally brought our food and then............. I had ordered the pot roast. The meat was just barely warm, the mashed potatoes were cold and there was gravy over everything -- congealing. And the gravy was really, really salty. We stopped here on the way back from the Grand Canyon after a long drive! What a lovely detour. Breakfast served all day and the loveliest people working here. We were staying at a nearby budget motel for a few nights and decided to have breakfast here. It was so good that we ended up eating here three mornings in a row, which is rare when we travel. The omelets are great, especially the Spanish one, the sourdough bread tastes like it's from a specialty bakery, and the service is just right.
