Let's face it, places to get a decent meal in Needles are few & far between. The outside doesn't look like much, and actually, it's like going through a time warp when you walk inside, too. Kitschy souvenir shop inside just in case you need more Route 66 memorabilia. Restaurant decor is western? cowboy-ish? rustic? not sure which, but just ignore that and concentrate on the menu. Lots (lots!) to choose from. Our dinner entrees were Liver & Onions and Chicken Fajitas. Both were delicious! Liver was tender, perfectly prepared (if you aren't an aficionado of this entree, it's hard to understand that an organ meat could ever be tasty!) as were the accompanying mashed potatoes and green beans. Fajitas were excellent, flavorful seasonings. The refried beans looked homemade - there are many homemade items on the menu. We were too full for dessert, but we saw some go by the table & boy-o-boy, did they look good! Our server was so very friendly, and very attentive. And the icing on the cake was the final tab - cheapest meal we've eaten out in a long time! Good food, good service, great prices! read more

We were on our way from LA to Williams, AZ... after about 3 hours it was time to look for a place to eat. Again the Yelp app. on my Iphone came in pretty handy and Jedro's Wagon Wheel Restaurant was hot on Yelp! It was around 3:00 pm LA time and 4:00 pm AZ time...we ordered a Mega Skillet and the Big Mess Omelet, good size plates and the ideal meal for 2 hungry travelers. Jedro's Wagon Wheel Restaurant is a great place to take a pit stop traveling the I-40, the service is great and the meals are tasty of good size and the bill at the end is not bad at all. The setting is almost as if you just parked your wagon and 2 horses and came in from a 16 hour ride through the the Mojave dessert, only the tv reminds you that you are in the 21st Century. I would return for sure, however my eyes saw another restaurant across the street and I am planning on my way back to check it out. read more

The Wagon Wheel is an old fashioned, traditional small town coffee shop like you would see in Mayberry on the Andy Griffith show in 1962. Except the Wagon Wheel is in the desert and it's 2018. I've been here for breakfast many, many times on my way home from Laughlin, NV on a Monday morning. I love everything about the Wagon Wheel Restaurant.... The inside decor, environment, homestyle cooking, food quality, food portions, little route 66 themed gift shop inside, service, older servers, overall vibe, etc. It's all just wonderful! I'm sure they get their share of hungry travelers just passing through on their way to somewhere else (like me), but I really hope the locals don't take this place for granted. I live in so cal, and if I lived in this area, I would eat at the Wagon Wheel much more often! The Wagon Wheel restaurant is as American as it gets. Please eat here, spend your money here. "Three vegans walk into Wagon Wheel..." sounds like the start of a bad joke, but it was a reality for me, my girlfriend and her grandmother (who prefers to be called Grammy) We were staying at a hotel in Needles for the night on Valentine's Day on our way to Flagstaff. After being on the road all day, we were a little hungry, and chips from the gas station couldn't satisfy us anymore. So we hopped in the car, drove a minute down the road and found Wagon Wheel. The place was packed, but our waitress (Laura) made us feel special. She guided us through the menu and made us feel at home. Even though she was trying to juggle multiple tables, she didn't let it show in her service. Admittedly, there weren't a lot of vegan/vegetarian options on the menu. If you're a super strict vegan (aka snooty patootie) then this place probably isn't for you. But if you're flexible, there are a few great options on the menu. We were so impressed by the welcoming atmosphere that we decided to go back for breakfast before leaving in the morning. Our waitress in the morning was lovely as well. She was vegetarian herself and explained how she was responsible for adding more meatless options to the menu. The best way to describe the Wagon Wheel (at least from our experience) is that it's welcoming to all. It's a place for families, truckers, couples, meat eaters, vegetarians, etc. It doesn't matter who you are or what you eat, you'll be treated like family. Also, apparently they have a "new beer!" on the menu. I only know this because a regular came in and was like, 'Finally! A new damn beer!" so yeah, that's pretty cool. My husband and I have been traveling across country for the past 2 weeks. During that time we have seen several restaurants with a lack of staff and sometimes a lack of motivation. That is not this place. The Wagon Wheel has what seems like a full staff and they move like they want to work and do the job they are paid to do...even in extreme heat. It was 111° outside and inside was doing its best to counter the heat outside. The food was great. We had Country Fried Steak & Pot Roast. Both were excellent. There's not many options for breakfast around here. It's pretty much Wagon Wheel Restaurant, Giggling Cactus (formerly Juicy's) or McDonald's. Thank goodness Wagon Wheel Restaurant is good for not only breakfast, but also lunch and dinner. Jennifer was our server this last time and she did a great job checking on us and making sure our drinks never went empty. French Toast Combo ($9.49) - Four pieces of french toast, two eggs and 2 strips of bacon. The french toast was a very classic version and tasted good. I liked the amount of cinnamon they used and it was filling. The bacon and eggs were also good. The coffee is $2.49 for the first cup and then free refills after that. I had 3 cups of coffee during my last visit and they weren't consistent. The coffee would either be not very hot, somewhat hot or really hot. The taste was decent enough. Wagon Wheel Restaurant has been in business since 1978. They are known for the pot roast they make on site each day which is served a few different ways with the sandwich version being the customer favorite. I'll have to come back by and try the pot roast! I'll for sure be back for breakfast when I am in the area. read more

I love this place. I come here every time I'm in Needles. The apple pie is delicious. The servers are welcoming. Food is hearty and a great value. Look for the table with the lion next to it, and see if you can find the purple die that was hidden there years ago! Fun treasure hunt. I have eaten breakfast here about 4 times while traveling to Kingman and although the food taste great (but a little too greasy) and the service was great, I can no longer stomach the smell inside this place. It smells like a mixture of backed up sewer and foul trash and I can't eat food while smelling it. The place is extremely dirty inside and the bathrooms are horrible. When we were seated, the waitress asked for our drink order. We order one coffee and one hot tea. Upon returning she informed me the only tea they had spiced chai, I asked for anything other then that. She informed me that that's all they had. Then Mysteriously she appeared with all sorts of options like lemon and orange I asked for the orange. Then upon returning to the table I just simply asked to have her give us the bill. And she abruptly and said no problem no charge. We left. Obviously the program is this customer service and they're more interested in this I am talking to others why they're trying to take an order. It appears the choices in Needles are slim to none. The service here at the wagon wheel surpassed exceptional. Every day we have visited we are greeted kindly, quickly, and in the most welcoming manner. The atmosphere resembles a western Gunn shooting salon and the Arnold palmers are plentiful. After being stationed near by and stoping in for breakfast and dinner the energy and food never failed us. We stopped on our way across country. I was surprised time find that two waffles, a burger, a burrito and Potato skins was 92 dollars. My husband said the burrito was not good, it fell apart almost immediately. I had a waffle which was good but nothing special. Everything was served in styrofoam containers drink cups had no lids.
