George

Hiring Melanie for a 3-week puppy raising program was the best investment we made in our dog. We are both busy professionals who have neither the skill or patience that level of training requires, and when our Cavapoo George returned home he was obedient, much calmer, potty trained and happier. Melanie also trained us in what we needed to do to reinforce the training and provided us with tailored guidelines and schedules for George. She also made herself available for follow-up questions and was always attentive. She is warm, professional and highly skilled, and I would hire her again in a minute.

There were plenty of dogs showing off with neat tricks and the place is spacious enough that it doesn't feel cramped. The kids go into a groups of 2-3 and takes turn going to sectioned areas to play with the trained pups. I was afraid that my daughter with eczema would have a scratching fit from the dogs, but they were all well-groomed and no odor at all. All the toys I touched didn't feel grimy and old. I can tell they take good care of this facility. A big plus is it's air conditioned and plenty of seats for the adults! Lots of times at kids' parties, the parents have to find odd things to sit on or stand, which is not a problem here. If you are looking to throw a birthday party, this is your place!

I searched online, found this center, and scheduled a session in the interim. I got to spend time with the sweetest dog, who snuggled up and hung out with me for the duration of my time there. It was perfect for me. Vicki and the dog's owner listened to my situation and offered suggestions and information for proceeding with obtaining an ESA dog of my very own. A second dog and his owner came by too and I was able to see them practicing in the agility/obstacle course pen and play with him as well. I haven't felt so relaxed in a long time, it really made my day. What a wonderful place and caring people!

Like half the country, when COVID hit I decided to get a pandemic puppy. But unlike those who…read morebrought home designer minis and shed free pocket pals, I rescued a 15 week old fluffer who came sight unseen all the way from South Texas. My Trooper is a dog of substance, part Husky, German Shepard, Chow, Rottweiler with a snippet of Cocker Spaniel thrown in (Yes, I did the doggie DNA test.) He arrived at 15 lbs and it seemed overnight, he began to expand, in size and attitude. His adorable cuddling and puppy mouthing was quickly turning into naughtiness and as he went from 15 to 50 lbs, I started to worry, I was going to be that house with the annoying dog. Enter Happy Dog Training. Recommended by EVERYONE, I registered for "Family Dog 1" and thought, if nothing else, I'd get to see real humans for the next 8 weeks. Trooper dragged me into our first class eagerly expecting to run and play with the 4 other dogs in class, but he soon learned that school was serious business, but with great rewards: Yummy treats, bully sticks and tug toys, and of course praise and attention. Our Trainers, Ellen and Tiffany made us feel so comfortable, gently reminding me when to click and when to treat since I so often got it wrong and helping me see the small steps we were making were really huge milestones on our journey from "hard to handle" to "wow, what a good dog." Never a harsh word or tone, they taught us to reward the positive and allow our fur kids to figure out how to earn those treats. No punishment, no yelling, no mean mommy voices, just lots of positive reinforcement and understanding their motivation. Trooper is now 10 months old and well over 60lbs. He walks well on his leash, responds to sit, down, off, wait, go and of course give mommy kisses. He had his first grooming at the spa and got a gold star for behavior. Thanks to Happy Dog Training, Mommy's Big Dog is turning out to be the silver lining in this pandemic. Hope to register for more classes soon- Trooper misses school!

It was great to see how well they worked with the individual strengths and weakness of every puppy in our very private puppy class. The feedback from the trainers was incredibly useful and personalized. We finished puppy kindergarten and are extremely excited to start the next level. They really aim to find the best in your pup and provide targeted advice. Additionly, they provide life long training. There were six puppies in our class, and you could see definate improvement in each dog by the end of the 8 week course. Highly recommend!

If you are reading this, your search for dog training stops here. This is the place you need and…read morethey will change your life! This sounds a little over the top BUT I'm not lying. I tell our trainers Katie and Nicole all of the time that they are life savers. We brought our puppy here at 1 years old - a small wild, energetic Jack Russell who knew every time I was on a video meeting to bark his head off and embarrass me EVERY TIME! Walks were out of the question since he would pull on the leash to the point he would choke himself... sitting on the deck was a nightmare in our own backyard because he would bark at the wind (yes, the wind), the leaves moving, the birds and obviously the neighbors. Does this sound familiar? I questioned my decision of getting a puppy and then I found Max K9. We did a 3 week Board & Train where I was super hesitant of dropping him off (because no one wants to leave their baby anywhere), but they were so good with sending video progress and pictures and including my husband and I in the process. I joke with everyone that I think they implanted a program into his brain! Lol! The transformation was unreal. We were instantly able to communicate with him and actually go on a walk.. outside in the real world. What a breath of fresh air, literally! Max K9 has given us the ability to live an active lifestyle and have our pup enjoy it with us. Hikes, traveling, morning walks, trips to the store, brewery visits, long car rides out of state... you name it. I would do it all over again if I had to without a question. So if you've made it this far, thanks for reading. I hope this helps you make your decision to having a better relationship with your pup and enjoying life with them every step of the way.

Stormie is a rescue who we adopted in 2019 and underwent 2 surgeries in 2021 due to bilateral CCL surgery. She was cooped up for an extended amount of time during recovery. We were unable to take her outside without her reacting to other dogs and sometimes even people. Stormie even gave us difficulty when we wanted to go for a short walk. It was so frustrating and difficult taking her out in public that we needed help. We have heard of Maximum K9 from many of our friends and even the great reviews I've seen on dog groups and online. I called to inquire about the types of training (group vs. individual) and it was clear that we needed to take private lessons. We signed up for a package of 6 lessons with Sherry that were one hour long for 6 consecutive weeks. Our first day, Sherry got to know about Stormie's behaviors - positive and negative, what we were having difficulty with and what our goals were. Sherry worked with us each week when training Stormie (and me) on how to modify or progress a skill. We learned how to heel, which we never were taught from another trainer elsewhere, and the importance of heel. We were given homework on what to practice from the training sessions to continue our work outside of the facility. Sherry helped Stormie become less dog reactive in a safe manner at Maximum K9. Stormie was slowly exposed to the board and train dogs in the facility that had various levels of size and temperament. Each week, Stormie learned how to follow her commands and not react to different dogs. With Sherry's consistent training, Stormie was able to heel with me in a circle with other dogs and sit next to them without any reaction at all. I cannot find the words to thank Sherry for helping Stormie and myself. I came into Maximum K9 with Stormie trying to pull my arm off and reacting to dogs in the lobby to now leaving with my arm back intact and her in a nice heel. I will refer all my dog lovers and friends to Maximum K9 and Sherry going forward! Thank you again!

Couldn't be more proud of this pup. 6 weeks ago she was everything to me but was also very tough to manage. She was the sweetest dog 1 on 1 but had her special way of going complete berserko any time someone else entered the room. A few weeks ago a photo like this wasn't even worth trying for. She always moved out of frame and could never stay still for more than a few seconds. Marlon of @k9u_ny trained her to become not just more obedient, but a focused presence that is always looking for ways to ensure I'm loved. I feel as though I have a dog that's constantly on the look out for me. It's hard to put into words how comforting that is. It's the whole reason why I got her and after two tough years of losing hope that she'd always be a handful, here she is posing with easy for me to snap a portrait... without even the need for treats. I can't recommend him and his team enough. Althea, I'm looking forward to all of our adventures ahead. Especially now that you're not just a sane dog, but because you've become the best dog. Our dog made a tremendous amount of progress in just six weeks working with *Uncle Marlon*. At this time, we also sprinkled in a bit of day care facility to get August used to socializing properly with other dogs and learning to seperate himself from us On Saturday, for our wedding day, Marlon picked up August at 10:30 from our house and took him to daycare at his facility. He brought him to meet us at our venue at 4 and the took him back to be boarded that evening. We were so excited to have pictures with our baby on our wedding attire and can't wait to see pictures! We picked August up that Sunday ... and boy did he have a great time! 10000/10 for the greeting we got when we picked him up!! The staff is so sweet and makes the dogs feel so at home while they're away from home. We usually send August with his food, treats and a few things from home (toy, bed, blanket). Alyssa sends us pictures and videos of him playing and making new friends. It's the cutest thing ever.
