We have a now 8 month old German Shepherd puppy who was on and off with her training. She is usually very good with obedience but she wouldn't walk good on a leash (VERY pully) and she would drive us crazy by non-aggressively lunging at us, resource guarding, being too excited or barking at strangers. We had enough and so we contacted local trainers, but their prices were either too high or tried to push boarding or more expensive lessons for "aggressive dogs". That's when we were lucky to find Marlon! His rates are extremely reasonable, he is fast to respond and always willing to help answer any question. We have only had 2 lessons and our dog is a completely different dog! Our relationship with her improved tenfold and it is SO much easier to handle her. I will definitely be contacting Marlon again for any help I need!

K9 is absolutely the best! My puppy Gustavo is deaf and we were really struggling with obedience and communication. Charlie and his amazing team of dog trainers gave us all the tools and confidence we needed to have a well behaved dog. Not only did they do a great job training Gustavo, they did great training my human pack, too. Thank you K9!!

Kylo was adopted at age 1. He was a show dog and didn't know how to behave like a pet. Marlon took his time and gave us skills to correct my dogs behavior. He trained Kylo and taught Kylo commands. Our boy continues to go to to K9 for daycare, grooming and training. I get updates during the day of how our boy is enjoying his day. I highly recommend this place. it's trainer, and entire professional staff!

Stella is a 5 month old Shepherd/Pitbull mix who was terrible on a leash. Marlon trained her to be the perfect little pup! After two weeks at K9 University, Stella now listens to all of her commands (heel, sit, stay, place, etc) and is such a good girl! We are even able to let her roam around off leash with full confidence that she will come right back when we call her. We've been getting compliments on how well trained she is. Marlon sent us daily updates and pictures and was so good about answering all of our questions and making us feel so comfortable. He took such great care of our girl. We would recommend Marlon and K9U to anyone and everyone.

Marlon IS the dog whisper of the Tri-state area! My boyfriend and I took our St. Bernard, Bubba to Marlon when he was just a few months old. We knew that not only would our Saint grow to be a massive dog, but that he would also grow very quickly! Marlon connected with Bubba right away--he worked on his recall, leash pulling, basic commands, respecting our authority and so much more! He also gave us great tips to continue Bubbas training while at home. We never felt rushed and he always took time answering all of our questions. Bubba is now 3 years old and 200 lbs! He is obedient, gets along with other dogs, doesn't pull on the leash, he's great off leash & has next to perfect recall. Plus he listens to all of our commands. Overall, such an awesome dog! We also board our pups at K9U whenever we travel. Not only are the boarding rates affordable, the establishment is very well kept and most importantly, our pets are happy! We highly recommend Marlon and the K9U team! Everyone is so helpful, patient and kind!

Marlon saved my relationship with my dog - I am not exaggerating when I say that I was at my wit's end before sending my retriever mix puppy to K9 University for a 3-week board and train. Canyon was a stray rescue who'd never been in apartment or on a leash; he was found wandering in fields in Louisiana and was terrified of EVERYTHING in New York. He was so timid and had virtually no confidence, and every walk was extremely stressful for both of us and had my hands sore and blistered by all his pulling and fearful skittish jerking. We originally planned to only board Canyon for 2 weeks, but Marlon gave such great updates and was so patient with answering all of our questions and sending videos that we extended his boarding an extra week. He was patient and kind with Canyon, who is fearful/anxious and needed a little more time to come out of his shell- I appreciate him taking the time to build the trust and not pushing my dog into forced situations. Canyon had plenty of doggy playtime and had a blast! Post-Marlon, Canyon is a COMPLETELY different dog. I swear Marlon is a wizard and worked some magic or hypnosis because I couldn't believe my eyes. Canyon walks the streets of New York unphased by loud trucks and rolling trash cans, now understanding the 'heel' command and staying attentive to me. We are able to walk down the busy 23rd street without much leash pressure, something I thought would've taken YEARS to build up. Not to be dramatic, but I really do feel like Marlon gave me my life back and restored our relationship. I no longer feel overwhelming dread while getting ready for walks and he also gets so excited and loves going out now. Most importantly, Marlon taught me how to move forward with training Canyon and gave me the right training advice that ACTUALLY works! It's incredible to see Canyon's progress and results unfold before my eyes- his confidence is growing day by day. Marlon's always so responsive and willing to help. His team is also so awesome, accommodating, and friendly. They all seem to genuinely love dogs. Like someone mentioned in another review- don't walk to K9 University, RUN!!! We will definitely send our dogs back. Thank you Uncle Marlon!

I'm not trying to brag on my dog, but it's part of me bragging on Marlon. My dog is now three but when I got him as a puppy he was only eight weeks old. He was very beautiful and loving, but he was very, very stubborn. I had plenty of trouble communicating with him what I wanted. I went through several trainers and was dissatisfied with the results. Then a friend of mine suggested that I contact Marlon. That was a true Godsend! Marlon taught me how to, much better, clearly understand and communicate with Ramses. He taught him to follow directions, to be calm, and be obedient. He is astoundingly obedient! As a result, he has become a great pleasure to everyone who meets him. It's actually amazing, the impact he has on people. In a two-week span, Marlon trained him to be a therapy dog and got certified at one year old. As a result, I am able to bring him regularly to schools, nursing homes, to visit with foster children and many others who are able to connect with him in very special way that brings an inordinate amount of joy and some kind of spirit rising impact on them. He's a very special beast, and Marlon is largely responsible for being able to bring that out in him and to share it the sweet experience with others. All of this was a major change from how the little fellow was before. And much for the better. Marlon has trained my dog to do many tricks as well. He runs obstacle courses beautifully! Imagine this: Not only can I bring Ramses to my office, but he is a big hit with everyone who works on the whole floor. Every office is happy to take him in for as long as he can stay. Marlon is responsible for making both our lives, and for many others as well, a much happier, rewarding and easier experience. Marlon is a truly masterful trainer and dog whisperer! Whenever I am unexpected trip comes up, I board my dog with Marlon, Ramses is like a part of the family . His rates are great and it's very convenient. Besides that I know that my dog is being very well cared for. Marlon truly loves animals and he is really amazingly at home with them. This dog has been very well trained! I am referring Marlon to everyone

I can not say enough good things about K9U. Sending my Ella girl away for so long was one of the hardest decisions I ever had to make, but I would do it again in a heartbeat after the experience we had. The staff at K9U is beyond caring and so so sweet. Alyssa and Marlon were our saving grace when we were missing Ella. From the numerous updates and videos a day, to answering any questions we had, they really helped us through this time. We also sent Ella's younger sister Zoey, and seeing them get to work with each other was amazing. Now that Ella is home, she is such a happier dog and we are able to communicate with her so much better. I would never send my dogs anywhere else besides K9U!! We LOVE them!

If people knew what Dixie (black and white) was like before training, you would know how incredible this picture is. Thank you Marlon!

Marlon has been a God send! My once aggressive, stubborn and "alpha" Shiht Zu is now the family lap dog we've always wanted. We've wasted money on training in the past so we were skeptical at first because we didn't think our dog was "trainable" We decided to go with the 2 week boarding for training and I am so happy my husband and I chose that package. No more barking, nipping and aggressiveness. We were even able to introduce another dog to our family because of Marlon, and I never thought that would have been possible. I cannot say enough about Marlon. His facility is gorgeous, and I never have an issue leaving my dogs while we go on vacation. He offers way more than other places do, and you can tell he truly loves each and every dog as if they were his own. I would give K9 University 20 stars if I could.

Chewy (right) walking calmly with another dog

After being recommended by my moms neighbor, I wanted to send my mixed breed (boston boxer) rescue to Marlon to get some training and to help work on her dog aggression. After a month with Marlon, Chewy has become much more manageable around other dogs and is much more obedient. In addition to training, when we travel, and can't take our dog, we have left her with Marlon for boarding. Chewy is happier than ever to see Marlon and that, of course, thrills us! Not only is he a great trainer, but he's trustworthy and I wouldn't leave our girl with anyone else for extended periods of time. Marlon makes himself available to all his clients, he constantly follows up on your pups progress, and is always available to lend an ear, or advice, even questions arise. Highly recommend. Thank you a million times Marlon and the K-9 University team!

cannot express the gratitude I have towards Marlon, Milly, Javier and the entire team over at K9-University in Lindenhurst. They are simply THE BEST. My 3 year old French Bulldog Owen falls under the criteria of a "reactive" pup- reacting(and fearful) only towards other dogs... I decided to try out K9U for training after receiving recommendations and reading all the positive reviews. Owen bonded with Marlon after a few training sessions and the results really showed. I then trusted K9U and enrolled Owen in their 4 week board and train program. I received daily updates and videos of Owen's progress. Owen came out a new pup and goes to daycamp now at K9U 2-3 times a week. I love receiving all the texts and photos of Owen playing with other pups at camp- my normal text back to Milly and the team is "are you sure thats MY dog?!" (he'd never play in the past with another dog) I really can't express how great this facility is. K9U has gone above and beyond to try and help my frenchie....socializing him safely with other dogs and going that extra mile for me as a customer. I would HIGHLY recommend K9U for all your daycamp/training & boarding needs.

Left our dog for boarding for 2 weeks and our pup did so well! He has separation anxiety but daily photos assured he looked comfortable.

If you are reading this, your search for dog training stops here. This is the place you need and…read morethey will change your life! This sounds a little over the top BUT I'm not lying. I tell our trainers Katie and Nicole all of the time that they are life savers. We brought our puppy here at 1 years old - a small wild, energetic Jack Russell who knew every time I was on a video meeting to bark his head off and embarrass me EVERY TIME! Walks were out of the question since he would pull on the leash to the point he would choke himself... sitting on the deck was a nightmare in our own backyard because he would bark at the wind (yes, the wind), the leaves moving, the birds and obviously the neighbors. Does this sound familiar? I questioned my decision of getting a puppy and then I found Max K9. We did a 3 week Board & Train where I was super hesitant of dropping him off (because no one wants to leave their baby anywhere), but they were so good with sending video progress and pictures and including my husband and I in the process. I joke with everyone that I think they implanted a program into his brain! Lol! The transformation was unreal. We were instantly able to communicate with him and actually go on a walk.. outside in the real world. What a breath of fresh air, literally! Max K9 has given us the ability to live an active lifestyle and have our pup enjoy it with us. Hikes, traveling, morning walks, trips to the store, brewery visits, long car rides out of state... you name it. I would do it all over again if I had to without a question. So if you've made it this far, thanks for reading. I hope this helps you make your decision to having a better relationship with your pup and enjoying life with them every step of the way.

We were having trouble trying to help him adjust from living in the south on a large property to living in a one bedroom apartment with cats and a smaller back yard. We were set up with our trainer, Jim, he educated us on how to handle Keiko properly (from basic obedience to different enrichment), build a better bridge of communication and help with his confidence. Our last session Keiko even decided he was going to try one of the obstacles from maximum K9's agility course (no prompting from us) shocking both me and my fiancé. Safe to say Keiko loves Maximum K9 as much as we do . Since our training we have been able to do so much more and get Keiko better involved in our activities (which we know he loves). They also have so many great treats, toys, and training tools for those at varying levels in their store portion.
