I never wrote reviews, but Suburban Pets is such a wonderful and accommodating service! My pup loved everyone who came in to spend time with her and the daily updates gave me peace of mind while I was at work! Highly recommend!!

We had such a wonderful experience with Therese, Lindsay, Cathleen, and the whole Suburban Pets crew. We have three small pups, one of whom has diabetes and requires special care. We started with an in-home consultation, and from there we were off and running. Appointments are made online using a reservation system that makes things very clear and straight forward. When we traveled, we would have SP drop by four times each day to let the dogs out, feed, and provide medication. Thanks for loving our boys, SP!!!!

After using their services for over a year, it has started getting worse and worse in the last couple of months. I think Therese and Lindsay as owners are trying hard to meet their demand since their "business" of dog walking has expanded rapidly throughout Long Island, forcing them to hire extremely unprofessional and inexperienced walkers. Walkers are literally just working for $$ but are absolutely NOT animal people! -Walkers refer to my Maltese as "annoying" for barking at another dog during a walk. -They show up whenever they want between a 2hr timeframe, don't have a phone number to contact to communicate or notify you when exactly they'll be coming. -They send different strangers into your house each time. And claim it's for our benefit because their walker's are calling out so they rotate strangers in and out all the time. Which is super uncomfortable honestly! -They offer you only 20mins of their time. From walker's time of arrival to departure, whether dogs are done or not. They're in and out rushing throwing dogs and leashes around to get out the door within 20mins so they can get to their next house. Make their next $ -We've followed the walkers to see what they do, and on NUMEROUS occasions caught them standing around in 1 place on their phone texting. -My handicap dog was knocked down by another dog during a walk, and came home all muddy. Pic below. When I asked if he got hurt the walker's response was "hehe yea probably, he peed though..." -Walkers have been caught on camera complaining about our home and family being lazy for using a dog walking service. But act fake-friendly/ fake-smiley to our face. They don't care about dogs, or animals at all. They do this for the money. I used to like them, but since their expansion I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone moving forward

Hounds Town - Chillin on the porch after daycare

Hounds Town

(33 reviews)

HoundsTown Farmingdale has been nothing short of amazing for our family. When we got our dog Tika…read morein March 2019, we had terrible issues with separation anxiety (husky/shepherd mix). We tried trainers, and all of their tips and tricks. Nothing worked. We hired a dog walker to stop by during the day to help us get our dog's energy out, but we couldn't keep her in a cage all day (she would destroy our house if left to freely roam the house). We felt awful. Then we found HoundsTown. This place is magical. Tika looks forward to going every time she hops in the car. She comes home completely happy and exhausted (that HoundsTown Hangover is real!). Our dog gets an exit bath each time she goes to HoundsTown, and she always comes home smelling good and looking clean. The entire staff is friendly, helpful, and you can just see how much they love dogs. It means a lot when the staff knows the owners and names of their respective dogs upon pick up and drop off. There is such a sense of community at this place. We have also used their boarding service. We saw pictures of our pup throughout her stay, and we even called to check in on her. They were always informative and told us how she was doing. I was always weary about boarding services for my previous dogs, but HoundsTown changed my feeling about it. I would only trust them. I highly recommend HoundsTown to anyone and everyone that needs a doggy day care or boarding service. Jen, Maria, and their staff are the best. We are so grateful.

Great spot that treats your dog like there own. We have used them a few times for doggy day care…read moreand recently used them to board our 8 month old golden doddle for a few nights. The location is awesome and our dog loves going there. They split the dogs up by size and how active they are so your dog plays with dogs his/her speed. For overnight boarding each pup gets there own room and you can bring their bed and toys. Prices are reasonable and the staff is very friendly. Can tell they really like working with the dogs. I highly recommend this spot for doggy day care and overnight boarding.
