So I have been a customer of Wagenwerx for just over 2 years now. I own a 2005 VW Passat, Howard the mechanic has been servicing my car since I have owned it. So Wagenwerx is most probably the closes specialist of VW and Audi to me other than the main dealers. The Cost is a lot more reasonable than the main dealer. This really is a great place with amazing Customer service, Howard is just a Legend. At one of my previous visits I had my rear brake pads and disk replaced. When I came to collect my car Howard had my old car parts on display for me to see. I think this was just an amazing idea, the way he explains the work he has carried out and the parts he installed. Over the years the work I have had done on my car various from brakes, oil service, diagnostics, headlights, electrics and timing belts. If you have a VW or Audi and live in the Philly area, this is the place to come. Usually when I book my car in I usually get an appointment for the following week, most of the work usually gets done in a day depending on what service I am getting done. For e.g. when I had my timing belt done, this was done over a few days, as the work is quite complicated. Overall the service and quality of parts Wagenwerx uses are at a reasonable price and very good quality. This is my fourth B5 VW Passat I have owned, I am very particular on who works on my car. What a great experience. Howard at Wagonwerx replaced the rear brakes on my 2010 Passat Komfort for far less than the dealer estimate. His work was accurate and professional. I had no idea rear brakes on this car required an engineering degree, or that the "people's car" while fun to drive is so expensive to maintain. Howard lowers the price of the fun. If you are in the Northwest Philadelphia area, this specialist VW service alternative to the dealer is outstanding. Keep it a secret, I can't imagine they need any more business. read more

First I will say that I am not a fan of VW, but I am a fan of Wagenwerx. My sister has a 2001 Jetta and usually looks to me for help when it breaks down (which is frequently). I'm somebody who likes to handle a lot of car work on his own, but my experiences working on her car have been frustrating, overly complicated and expensive (parts-wise). Recently, her car wouldn't start on a cold day. I replaced the battery but it drained again the next night and I concluded something was draining the battery while parked. Knowing the problem was beyond my knowledge of electrical systems, I took it to Howard. He put in the time to find the source of the problem (the heated seats) and presented me with a couple cost options for fixing it vs. bypassing the problem. The additional strain on the alternator caused it to fail while it was in the shop, and Howard installed a new one on the same day at a reasonable price. Wagenwerx isn't cheap but is reasonable and Howard is very capable. Also, he communicated with me frequently and proactively throughout the process, which is something most mechanics, even good ones, tend to be bad at. I highly recommend this place if you're unfortunate enough to own an older VW. A great alternative to a dealer. read more

Howard gave me a honest tune up. I thought I would have needed more service for a scheduled maintenance but he stated the car was already in good shape and not much was needed. Had I gone to a dealer, I feel they might have done a more thorough job but would have cost me much more for something that wasn't necessarily needed. Definitely would support this garage. read more

Big fan of this shop. I've had issues in the past with 3 different dealers in the area and have never had a problem here. I've been going here primarily for routine maintenance and 2 unrelated major items. 1 was a slow coolant leak and another was a known issue causing carbon build up in the intake at the approximate milage that my car had. After the big cleaning, this is like a totally different car. MPG's are back, power is restored, he had the car back to me ahead of schedule and was within the estimate I was given. I will continue to recommend this shop to anybody with a VAG car. read more
