I recall Nick telling me on the phone that he had cleaned up the engine area, but when I opened it, it looked like an OCD clean freak had painstakingly worked through it. The interior surfaces, fluid reservoirs, etc, were all totally clear and free of grime and I could actually see the fluid levels.

I did not go in an immediately ask for him, instead I let the transaction flow to see how I felt. I was treated very well by Fran and Bill at the front desk but what I truly appreciated the most was being taken into the installation area and shown exactly what the problem was and what it would take to fix it. A huge portion of the pipe was completely rotted through. After getting my estimate which was quite reasonable cuz I did do some research, I explained to Bill and Fran about my previous experience and they were completely apologetic and as gracious as Jason had been. My work took a little while but the accommodations were good. Rapco has a spacious waiting room so distancing was not an issue, a tv and plenty of magazines to keep you occupied. Very happy with my visit and plan on coming back for that Yelp check-in offer.

We called on a Thursday afternoon and were given a Monday morning appointment. A short time after dropping the car off, Joe called us and explained exactly what was needed and why. Once we gave the go ahead to do the job we received a phone call back within a few hours advising that the work was completed. The cherry on top was that the total price came in under the price quoted. And, the BEST part is that the air conditioner now works like new. Joe Long operated this auto repair shop for decades. Joe passed away several years ago and the shop…read morehas been operated by a series of other people since he died. The good reputation of this shop is strictly based on Joe Long's supervision of mechanics, but that is long gone. Service there has significantly deteriorated since then. I miss Joe, as does my family fleet that once numbered five vehicles. Joe maintained them for about 25 years and I never had a problem with his mechanic's work. (I'm a "farm boy" with some mechanical and DIY skills, so please know that when you read this review.) I took my Prius there for annual inspection about a year ago, and reported no known problems on this highly reliable 2010 car with about 130K miles. They called me and said "It's in pretty good condition for its age and miles but many of the cushions in the suspension system are badly deteriorated and need to be replaced." The price, with inspection (which it already passed except for this issue) was $700. I told them "I have owned six Toyota's during my 60+ year driving career and all of them were very low maintenance and highly reliable, I drove each of them at least 150,000 miles and never needed any suspension work--not even to replace shocks or get a wheel alignment. I simply can not believe what you are telling me." They said to come pick up the car. When I did I saw elevated on a repair rack my neighbor's car with front and back suspension components disassembled and hanging--obviously as part of the process to replace these suspension component cushions. That auto was less than 1/3 the age of my car and I could not believe it needed this type of suspension work. I took my car to Midvale Auto in East Falls and it passed inspection without a problem. Avoid East Falls auto like the plague!
