I felt really bad for the one employee I saw taking all the orders and preparing everything here at Waffle Time. How can a business with a steady stream of tourists foolishly have only one person working? If there was other coverage in the store, I did not see them. I was here for about 15 minutes and the entire time I saw the one poor employee doing it all. Just amazing how businesses can skimp on support. C'mon- with how many people were making their way through the line, surely they could've afforded to have a second and third employee. Even just for safety's sake it seemed like there should be more support. Anyways, the menu here is extensive. My friends' group wanted some ice cream at about 11am. Yup, 11am, so I wound up here. I ordered a Berry Smoothie. You could tell it was made fresh with real berries and Greek yogurt, but it was insanely sweet, thus negating any health benefit. I could only drink about a third of it before I had to give up. It was a shame because with tip, it was about $14. It was a welcome sight to see a place like Waffle Time where we could get ice cream and smoothies, but I felt like this is just a straight up tourist trap that runs on lean coverage, has sky-high prices and serves ridiculously over-sweetened food. read more

Me and the wife wanted to order a Dubai crepe but they said the crepe machine wasn't working; so we said ok, can we order the Dubai cup without the strawberries, they said they can't remove an item or substitute an item because then it wouldn't be a Dubai cup, even though they are made in front of you from scratch. So my wife ordered a build your own with chocolate ice cream and they gave her vanilla and over charged us. read more

Five stars for this place! Every time I come here, I get something different and I love it! This place is so delicious and I love the different combinations of things you can make with their crêpes, bubble, waffles, ice cream, fruit, smoothies, and açai bowls! I most recently went and got the Dubai chocolate bubble waffle, which was an off menu item, every time I go, the employees working behind the counter are super sweet and friendly, and very helpful with their suggestions. They gave me half and half of vanilla and pistachio ice cream and they recommended the bubble waffle as opposed to the crate because it also came with the strawberries and was a bigger portion! I love this place, but definitely will be dangerous for my wallet given how close I am to it lol. I also had these strawberry Nutella Oreo crêpe, which was so delicious with the vanilla ice cream! Went here for a mid day sweet treat and boy was it yummy! My friends and I went with the Oreo waffle which had vanilla ice cream, Oreos, M&M, and Nutella drizzle. We were all impressed with how creamy the ice cream was! The warm, crisp waffle was a great vessel for the delightful ice cream and toppings. Let's jump right into it. This is a tourist spot. If you're from N.O. I would say try to show support but this not for the locals. The bubble waffle is cooked to order! The mix has absolutely no flavor! Just a plain & I mean plain waffle mix. All ice cream come with Nutella inside the waffle along with your ice cream. Yuck! If I would have known that I would have said no Nutella. I spent $13 on ice cream that I tossed in the trash before I even made it back to Decatur St. Now if you know where it's located and I tossed it in the trash by the time I made it to the corner that should you something. Overpriced dessert shop but nothing like it in the area that's walking distance, so decided to give it a try. The inside is very pretty, and they had a lot of holiday decorations up and a Christmas tree. There were 3 long white tables with jenga, as well as a high table area with bar stools. It was empty when we visited. The menu is a bit confusing and located very high up on the wall, so it's hard to see. The employees were not the most friendly, and they were a bit hesitant to answer our questions about size and ice cream flavor limits. We got the cookie dough ice cream- a scoop was $5 and imo was not worth it. The bubble waffle with the scoop of ice cream was overpriced too. The bubble waffle was chewy and warm though. It's surprising that an iced coffee or tea is $10; I've never seen such high prices. Just came in with my family visiting from out of the country. The crepes were delicious and the customer service was excellent. The fruit was super fresh and crepes were thin and a perfect combination of soft with crispy edges. The owner was also in and he was delightful. The restaurant is new and clean. And it costed 11 dollars. If the workers over there aren't the owner. They give no shit about the shop. They are running it to the ground. They messed up the toppings of my order and out chocolate chips instead of chocolate sprinkles; my teeth were not happy and I was looking forward to little chocolate bits of happiness sprinkled all over. But no... If the food item wasn't $13.50, with each topping costing $1.50, I wouldn't make a fuss. But if my total is nearing $20 for a desert and a drink, it should be made as their menu describes. My husband and I were out celebrating my birthday on Saturday 4/21. I wanted to try some crepes. Only one young lady was doing all the work while the others were hiding in the back talking! The guy working would take one of the orders, then finish that order completely, have them pay, then start another order. There were two people working but only ONE guy was making ONE waffle at a time. Not sure what the other guy was doing. They have multiple waffle makers, but the guy just stood there and waited for ONE waffle to cook. If they want to stay in business, they'll need.to be able to at least handle several orders at a time. Super stingy with the ice cream too. A "scoop" is literally one spoonful of ice cream.
