Went for a quick bite after work one night. Only two servers and two cooks were on shift. It was about two groups of 4-5 people and three individual people inside waiting for orders. One server watched me sit down and never came and got my order or acknowledged my presence. If I wasn't so hungry at the time I would have left. One of the cooks came off break and was going around making sure everybody had been served. He took my order and made my food and brought it to me. He told the servers no one had helped me. And finally a server came over to get my drink order and write me out a ticket. It was a group of people in before me waiting on to go orders. They received their orders as I was paying for my food. NEVER AGAIN. I will find another Waffle House near me.

Our party of 7 had a 2:45p reservation; and we were seated early at 2:35p. The interior was very roomy and well decorated, including artwork and a large aquarium at the entrance. We ordered drinks & entrees after perusing the menu for about 10 minutes. Drinks arrived about 30 minutes later and were great. Our entrees took much longer and were served about 3:40P. My wife and I ordered chicken & waffles. The chicken was tasty, but we both thought our waffles were a little "gummy", and needed another 2 or more minutes in the waffle iron. I finished mine nonetheless. Others in our party ordered pork chops, lamb chops, and a fried chicken sandwich. The R&B music was familiar and toe tapping, but was just a little too loud. The house band was setting up to perform when we were leaving. Thankfully, we were NOT charged an additional $10 per person for performers fee, as noted at our table. Gratuity was included in the bill. Our waitress Lola was friendly, efficient and attentive. We may try Katch Kitchen again.

The grits were creamy and flavorful enough that they didn't need any cheese, and the eggs were cooked well. I probably could have skipped the side of potatoes since they weren't my favorite. The waffle was just okay for me. It was a bit too dense, as I prefer a lighter, fluffier waffle. I'm usually picky about biscuits, but this one was so good that I finished the entire thing with strawberry jelly, even though I was already full (not pictured). The service was excellent. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The inside of the restaurant is absolutely adorable, and I loved the R&B music playing in the background, which added to the fun and relaxing atmosphere.

It's been a few years since I've dined at Marlow's, but their HH deals brought me in. I sat at the bar, and maybe they were in the middle of a shift change bc it took a while to get greeted and service throughout my experience was slow. I had to wave them down, ask for refills instead of the bartender being diligent. The bar was full, but at one point I saw one of the bartenders texting, so they had time to check on guests. I'm also in the service industry , so I may notice these things more than the average person. Anyways, their happy hour is one of the best I've come across. $5 margs & $6 old fashions to highlight a few items. I love a happy hour with food AND drinks. The food here is still as solid as I remember. I had the kettle chips and wings. Wings were not sauced, but very crispy and came with dipping sauce on the side. The chips were hella good! Crispy and the toppings were great. I had those two appetizers, 3 margs and a creme brûlée for under $40! That's a win, this will be one of my go-to spots for sure.

It took at least 5 minutes to be recognized by a host and then several more before we were seated, even though there were plenty of open tables. We should have left at that point, but we stayed hoping that the server experience would be much better. Then it took some time for the server to come around so, in the meantime, our party planned on our entree item selections to give to the server when she arrived to ask about our drinks, tell about specials, etc. Server writes down our order. 10 minutes + pass and no waters. My girlfriend noticed the server immediately went to clean a table after taking our order. ???? We designated a time that we were going to leave if there was no drinks, and then we left when the time came. On a lesser note, the place has plenty of TVs. We went to watch the second half of a college basketball game (University of North Carolina vs Dook) on ESPN, a basic cable network, and none of the TVs had the game on. No big deal. But when the server came to take our order, we also requested that she put the tv closest to us on the UNC/Dook game. 10 minutes + pass and I was still watching it on my phone as she never changed the channel. Anyway. 20-25 minutes total. Many delays and excuses. 0 Stars. 1 will have to do for. We went to Brockett Pub, three miles down the road. We were acknowledged and served quickly, they put the game on, we had a wonderful meal, and Carolina won. All's well that ends well, but never again here.

We all got an iced coffee to start. I got mine without whipped cream. It was good, but still very sweet. So keep that in mind if you don't want something too sweet. I got the farmhouse hash with my eggs sunny side up. It was so good and hearty! Had bacon, avocado, onions, tomatoes, and cheese. It was also served with toast. It was very filling! I finished most of it. Someone else got the farmhouse hash as well, but with eggs scrambled and no avocado. The other person got the tri-fecta, which is 2 eggs any style served with a waffle with choice of breakfast protein. The food was all pretty good. It didn't take too too long to come out. Like I mentioned earlier, the place was super packed. Be prepared if you are coming on the weekends. Parking was also quite the task. While it's in a parking lot, all the spots were filled up. I had to park quite far to get a spot! First Watch was good, but I don't care too much to come back.

I arrived early (15 minutes before the rest of party) our server (tall blonde) walked around me to every other one of her tables for the entire 15 mins and NEVER once acknowledged me. NEVER stopped to ask if I needed/wanted anything while I wait, yet when my party member started to show up (and yes these are white ladies and I am a woman of color) she was/became so attentive that I almost grew sick of it. When you are in the service industry you better leave that attitude/racism/bullshit home bc it will reflect in your tips which I am guessing you need or you would not be there. I'm out of that location for a while.
