We checked into our hotel in Tifton, GA, and it was getting late. After a long day of traveling, alll of the restaurants in the general vicinity were closed. I was less than thrilled that we were going to have to go to Waffle House, if we were going to eat. When we walked in, it was crowded; there were no available tables. An employee greeted us, and we sat at the counter. As we perused the menu, I was thinking back to my former Waffle House late nights of grubbing down after a night of drinking. We were then greeted (with a smile) by our sever, Alyssa. She took our drink order and promply brought our drinks. Whenit was time to make menu selections, I ordered a Texas Bacon Patty Melt with hashbrowns, covered and topped. We watched the cook (Reuben) multi-task, as he cooked several meals simultaneously. We were in awe of his patience, demeanor, and ease. He made it look so easy! He was cooking for up to 8 people while we watched... and nothing fazed him. He was cool as a cucumber. After Alyssa called out our order to Reuben, it was on! After watching him prepare our food, we received our order. Everything was hot and delicious. The patty melt was especially good!! The servers and Reuben worked together like a we-oiled machine. It was quite impressive! Every employee was friendly, kind, and personable.
