Yeah, it's that kind of a joint and there is nothing wrong with it. It is a different world than the city that's a mere half hour away. As far as the meal, the pulled pork is all-right. A bit dry, not particularly fresh, but standard mass produced pork. The okra is excellent. The potato salad is very vinegar centric, to a degree that made it a bit hard to actually finish, but could be of flavor for some. With all of that said, Jones BBQ is still a much better option than the fast food options in town and worth a stopover if passing through Temple. The Trading Post Cafe is a spot where local folks come to eat. A visitor can easily spot the "regulars" chatting with their servers. The staff is patient, attentive and extremely kind. We were visiting the area and found The Trading Post Cafe via Google when looking for a breakfast spot. Our entire party agreed that it was the highlight of our day! Our server, Kate, to exceptional care of us. The menu had plenty of options for whatever size appetite.
