Whelp we are up here visiting and decided to grab some Waffle House....we walked in and a man with a Waffle House uniform ( I presume an employee but as you continue reading you'll understand why I am assuming his employment status) was sitting over in the corner. First alarming fact was there was no other soul in there.....never have I been to an empty Waffle House....so we sat down.....and waited.....and waited.....and NOTHING! Dude never said a single word, never saw anyone else so finally we just got up and left and guy still didn't even say a word! It was so weird! The lady named Ariel decided to have fun with the people behind us, she ended up giving them our food and proceeded to tell them that they would get 10% off if they could eat it all meaning that as we were getting too much food just because I got a triple hash brown. Well I had my mouth watering for a crispy pecan waffle, but noooo, I got a limp barely cooked thin as a pancake or maybe thinner one. 2 coffees and the home fries which were delicious were straight out of the deep fryer. I thought they would be from the griddle with diced onions and peppers, nope. Then the piece de resistance, the 25.40 bill! What the heck kinda racket are you folks running here. The food was good compared to last time, the waitress seemed to have experience but couldn't keep up with 2 tables. I asked for dark roast so I know I'll be waiting a couple minutes. I ordered my food and when the food came the coffee was done, but never brought me the coffee. She also never brought me syrup! Who does that? Ridiculous!!!! So ate all my food and I was at the bar in front of her and she never payed attention. I finished my food except waffle still no coffee and no syrup!!!! I finally asked for syrup and coffee. After​ eating at many waffle houses the waffle house in Silva, North Carolina. I will say is one of the worst waffle houses that I've ever eaten at by the time we entered this morning and by the time we left we were very dissatisfied the food was served on paper plates with plastic utensils the coffee was so bad that it taste it like syrup the food was burnt and horrible the only good thing of the food was the eggs we were giving poor service and then in the bathroom which was worse than a New York City subway overall this Waffle House should be shut down and the health department needs to do it I will never eat at this Waffle House again and I will put everything I said on Facebook you need to get your restaurant together and stop serving food that is unfit to serve a dog read more

Any is a great server- pleasant / sweet / kind . This is my first time back at this location in a few years- we are visiting - food was awesome - Service was amazing . The last time I was year PRE Covid the cooks were cross contaminating the food ( raw chicken to touching hamburger bun and touching the plates- This time around everything very good.. Clean / sanitized/ floors were cleaned at basically 1245 pm on Easter Sunday . read more

I went there 16 years ago and saw the cook sweating onto the grill where my eggs were being cooked . Yesterday since Huddle House was full and standing room only, my husband and I went to Waffle House. Big mistake!!! Servers except for 1 had their hair down with no nets. I watched as a cook wipe his sweaty brow (had no band to catch the sweat) Yes he had a cap on, but it couldn't catch sweat (it was back to far on head. A$$holes. Claims they are 24/7 but say "they aren't taking orders right now" even though there are 2 peoples sitting on their phone in there!?!?!? I would like it to be known it was whoever was working the shift on sunday March 14th at 3:30 am. They deserve to be fired. How could they deny my 7 calls and then ruin my hopes and dreams. Only been to this place once, and that was on a return trip from seeing the eclipse 8/21, but I wasn't impressed. I'd never been to a Waffle House before, but had heard they were decent food with fast service. We were expecting some delay as the place was very busy with a line coming in, but our order was apparently not put in and tables that arrived after us received full orders before we did. When our order finally came up, the waitress must not have remembered/wrote down two orders for cheese-covered hash browns (my order was for those and a blueberry waffle). When we pointed out that my girlfriend's order didn't have cheese, she just dropped a slice on top and assured us "it'll melt okay." It really didn't. The food and coffee weren't bad otherwise, and I'd probably go back if these were local to me. I'm rating this place more for the food than the service. (The waitress said she'd take one order of cheese-covered hash browns off the bill, so she was nice about that at least.) read more

As far as 24-hour greasy spoons go, Waffle House is king. It's right down the road from O'Malley's, so if you head in between 1 A.M. and 4 A.M., you'll find it playing host to drunk college kids... and this establishment was chosen in good taste. ;) Waffle House usually has something that hits the spot for me when it's 3 A.M. and my stomach is forming a lynch mob. Their breakfast food really hits the spot, and they have an "All Star Breakfast" that basically includes the kitchen sink, and which my fiance and I usually find ourselves splitting. Waffle House also has syrups at their soda fountain, so order yourself a vanilla or cherry Coke if you're craving caffeine. Since it's 24-hour, there are no seating time limits, so you can usually hang out as long as you'd like. The staff is generally very friendly... they allowed a group of 8 that I was part of to load up the jukebox and sing along one evening. Even though I'm not in Waffle House every weekend any more, I know who'll treat you right; ask for Tina Glass if you're in there on a late night. She's one of the best waitresses they've got, and if she isn't too busy, she's a great conversationalist. read more

The food was great, but I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in a staff member by the name of Oliver. My friends and I came in and a lady already sitting waiting for her daughter was asked to get up and give us the table. Although my friends and I were able to sit down, I thought this was extremely rude towards this lady. I understand table turnover-- but this was just extremely rude and uncalled for. The lady was sweet and kind and didn't hesitate, but I thought it was rude of Oliver to make her get up. My mom and I walked into the Waffle House in Sylva and seated ourselves. We waited for about 10 minutes for someone to greet or acknowledge us... There were 5 other customers in the restaurant and plenty of waiters, some of which were counting change and/or standing right by us. They were blatantly ignoring us. We tried a few times to get their attention, but they wouldn't come over. Other customers came in behind us, sat, and were able to order straight away. We were not paid any attention. After about 15 minutes or so, we got up and left. Worst customer service I have seen in a very long time. read more

Not much is open after 10 in Sylva. We had a good meal here with an especially nice garden salad.

We stopped because of the good reviews on Yelp. Our experience did not equal those reviews. My husband and I were disappointed with our meals. My toast was cold, limp and soggy. The grits cold. The service was not good as well. The waitress did not get my order correct and my husband was almost finished before I received my food. I had to remind the waitress several times for honey and a straw. My husband was disappointed with his breakfast sandwich and said it was tasteless. We've been to other good Waffle Houses in the past, but this does not rate anywhere near those. When asked how our meals were upon paying, I told them, but nothing more was said. I left still hungry.
