This was the first time I've been to a Waffle House in probably over 15 years. The food came out quickly and our waitress was very sweet. I got the All Star Breakfast. The waffles were the best thing for sure, and I liked how you could smell them cooking. My eggs were a little over cooked for being poached, but not terrible. Hash browns were crispy. My hubby got the chicken and waffle special and was surprised when the chicken was just a grilled breast. Our waitress didn't ask what kind of toast I wanted and I got default white, or I probably would have gotten a biscuit or the raisin bread. I saw someone else with the raisin when we were leaving and it looked good. Prices are a little high for basic chain breakfast food, but I would go back for the waffles. When you run out of options on where to go eat in the middle of the night waffle house is always there for you. Prices are super cheap and food is prepared very quickly. Are usually like to order the hashbrowns well done with cheese and to Sunnyside up eggs. For waffles the chocolate chip waffles are very good batter taste something like cake batter which is a good thing. I have heard so many stories and glowing reviews about this place by BF I feel like I had already eaten here when we first walked in. But no, this was my first time - I was a Waffle House virgin. He was so excited to find a Waffle House here in Ohio he whipped the car off the highway and almost drove over the median when he realized he might miss the turn. He grabbed my arm and pulled at my sleeve like a little kid, all the while hopping up and down and doing a sing-song like mantra: waffle house, Waffle House, WAFFLE! HOUSE! The waitresses were very friendly and hollered out "hello" as we walked in. Once inside, a slack-jawed, misty-eyed stare was all he could muster up as we took a seat. The coffee we ordered came in mugs emblazoned with the WH logo, which meant BF would, for the next half-hour, have this turmoil rage inside of him over whether it was wrong to steal from the place he loved so, so much, or if he should try to buy one. He ordered the omelet and hashbrowns, which are offered in this myriad of ways, all with strange labels such as "smothered" "covered" and "capped". You can hear the ladies calling these orders out like auctioneers at a country fair. I ended up with scrambled eggs, grits and toast. All of which were just....OK. Of course I could never say this to BF, who asked me how I liked the place with all the enthusiasm and puppy dog eyes of a small child asking to be critiqued on his artwork. So naturally I had to say I loved it. But an extra star for our waitress, who asked if we wanted a complimentary cup of coffee to go, and then proceeded to hook us up with a massive cup each. There's not a lot to say about a Waffle House, if you've been to one you've been to them all. However, this was one of the best ones that I've been to. Upon arriving it was clean and smelled like fresh breakfast. Our server was friendly and attentive without hovering. The food came out fast and was, as Hub's put it, "delightful". They only had two waffle irons working this morning so they made sure to bring us the kids' waffles out first. Now, if you don't have any kids you may not realize the significance of this move. But any effort to keep the kids calm and happy is always appreciated by us parents and shows that the server is really considerate. read more

I used to frequent this place a lot. Order breakfast, and it was super sub-par service. I got bacon, and that was all I received, the rest of my order was still missing. There was a waffle sitting on the prep counter since I walked in. Waitress walked over and grabbed it. Tried serving it to me. I turned it away as it had been sitting there at least 20 mins. I asked her where the rest of my food was and was answered by a very confrontational cook. He was swearing and getting really nasty with me. The food at Waffle House is what you would expect, a robust menu to select from and at a cost that is sure to fit most budgets. While the food is not bad, I rated this Waffle House 4 stars because of the staff. From the moment you walk in, until the moment you leave, they are welcoming, friendly, attentive and provide fantastic customer service. They've never gotten my order wrong and they are quite accommodating with special requests. When the cook is not busy he typically walks around to make sure the food is alright and folks are enjoying their meal. Criticizing Waffle House is simply un-American. My biggest regret is that there are no Waffle Houses in Michigan, my home state. Every trip south of the Michigan-Indiana border will include at least one trip to WH. My favorite vacation photo from the 1990s features my 8 yr old daughter sitting on a stool in a WH in Tennessee and telling a total stranger next to her about our visitto Disney World. The staff is always friendly and deserve more than 15% tips for their speed and attention. Alas 15% of Waffle House bill is a pittance. Cheap great All-American Food. I thought I had received good food service until I came to the waffle house in Hubbard and met Kaj. It was the first time I had ever eaten at a waffle house and I was amazed by the service, the food, and the environment. If I were to get a tattoo, I would probably get a tattoo of Kaj's face.
