Bill Lewis of Vero Beach, Florida, making a quick stop at the Waffle House in Hendersonville, North Carolina.
William - Bill Lewis L.

Waffle House by default as this was the only restaurant open at 11 p.m. on a Thursday night at Interstate 26 in Hendersonville, North Carolina. My hotel was blocks away and I was hungry as the musical I just attended didn't serve food - only drinks and snacks. I ordered the hash brown meal with all the fixings and a glass of water. It was too late for coffee if I wanted to sleep following my meal. Food was typical "Waffle House" fare. Hot and greasy - eat it quick before the toppings make the hash browns too soggy to eat. The hash browns were "okay" until they became too soggy to eat. I ate about half my meal. Server was polite and friendly. Plenty of parking and restaurant appeared clean. Convenient to Interstate 26 in the Flat Rock/Hendersonville area, several other restaurants were closed at this "late" hour. William E. Lewis, Jr. Vero Beach, Florida.

Patriotic dining courtesy of the House!

We have passed this place for the last 5 years. Its been closed or so full, we didn't stop. Sunday…read moreafter church 9:15am, we had our chance. It was packed upon leaving at 10am, so heads up! First time there, we enter and no one to greet you NOR a sign to seat yourself or wait to be seated. We waited only about 6-7 min for someone to tell us to seat yourself. Passed a couple of dirty tables to sit at the window! Don't worry, there are windows views at every single table. There is also bar seating as well. There is a certain charm about a 50's diner chrome everywhere, black and white checkered floor. As we look at the HUGE menu, we watch the HUGE plates of food pass. So, plan on sharing or taking some home. Tables were clean and waitress was friendly enough. Chicken Fried steak, white gravy, eggs over easy, grits and English muffin were all absolutely spectacular! The steak was super tender and crispy! The gravy wasn't over or underseasoned, I added nothing! The entire plate was gone, literally not a crumb onnthe plate left over. The Philly Skillet was also pretty great! Absolutely huge and we took more than half home to have for 2 meals at home. The postoes/fries were super crispy. The onions, peppers and mushrooms were all seasoned very well and nothing was added at all. Would have liked more meat to the ratio of veggies but with all of the veggies and eggs over easy, it worked well. No beef was brought home because there wasn't a lot on the plate. We kept seeing the biscuits pass and we just had to order one. Brought most of it home but just had to taste it. It was huge. Light and fluffy, not heavy or overdone. Would have went well with the white gravy- note for future visits. Overall 5/5! Would go back. Would like to see t he place get a deep cleaning and paint touch ups and maybe required for the wait staff to have their hair up or fixed. Several looked like they just rolled out of bed and slept with their animals. Will have to go for lunch! Bring your neighbor. Locals/regulars meeting for coffee and visits was nice to see. Not overpriced.

Nice retro dinner that WNC needs more of. Decent prices and local folks. We drive out of our way…read moreto eat here just to get away from the over polished over priced food that is everywhere around here these days.

It took me a good little while cause I was deciding from three different things. The next time I go, I will get the Cuban sandwich but I ordered this thing with hashbrowns and sausage and gravy and egg and cheese on it. It was absolutely delicious and my friend had that avocado toast the atmosphere the ambience. Their staff was 100% amazing. Try it if you've never been I think you'll really like it.

Usually we come around 10ish and there's a small wait or the place is just really packed (even outdoor seating). But today we stopped around 8:30 and there was only a couple of tables taken up. We were greeted with a smile right away and taken to a table. We were given 2 different menus. One containing the different breakfast and brunch options they offer and the second one with the coffees and alcoholic beverages. Once you look at the menu you see that there is a lot of the basic breakfast options you can find at other restaurants. But what also makes the menu different is that they offer latin breakfast and lunch items like huevos rancheros, huevos con chorizo, tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. Since it was so early I decided to go with the huevos rancheros since I've never had them here before. I also decided to go with the honey bear latte (iced) with oat milk as my drink for this morning. My latte was really good! It had hints of vanilla, cinnamon, and honey. The oat milk mixed in perfectly making the latte have a nice creamy taste. Once my dish came out I was happy at the presentation of the plate. I ordered my eggs overhard and they came topped with salsa roja, queso fresco, and cilantro. All of this was placed on top of a fried tortilla and given to me with a side of home fries. Over all I did like the dish. I will say the salsa roja threw me off because I expected it to be a little more spicy, however it had a more citrus/lime taste to it. The home fries however were a 10/10 for me, I liked how crispy they were and how I didn't need to add more salt and pepper to them. Overall I really did enjoy my time this morning at Arabella's. Our server was super nice and attentive with us. The atmosphere is calming. Also it's nice to see the people of Hendersonville coming in and supporting this local business. If you're from the area or a tourist definitely check this place out. You wont be dissapointed.

The food was amazing. The staff, Naomi, was very attentive and got our orders as we wanted. The ambience was cool, a bit on the loud side. Our water and drinks were empty multiple times. Unfortunately, the food was underwhelming and extremely overpriced, especially for Hendersonville. I ordered the banh mi and wouldn't recommend it. The small sandwich was overwhelmed with mayo and lacked the traditional Vietnamese flavors I was expecting. To make matters worse, it was $18 and didn't even come with a side which felt unreasonable. For that price, I would much rather dine at Postero across the street. The restaurant asked if we were celebrating anything, and we mentioned a major accomplishment for our friend. While the waitress acknowledged it several times which was kind it was disappointing to learn that there was no complimentary dessert or gesture. At that point, repeatedly bringing it up felt unnecessary. Given the high reviews, I expected a much better experience. Unfortunately, I don't see myself returning.
