Parking is a bit sparse here, and you used to be able to park under the bridge but that was blocked off last time I went. You may have to park in the overflow gravel lot just west of the building, which also serves as parking for the excellent Blue Dog Bistro next door. We started with the Tres Amigos appetizer, which included a pile of fresh chips combined with salsa, cheese sauce, and black bean sauce. It was great and really meant for more than two people. They don't skimp on this one. I've been here several times and always get the Shrimp A Go Go poboy, which is pictured here. Although I feel like it could have used a few more shrimp for the price point, it was really good and comes with this creamy sort of salsa that pairs well with the fried shrimp. My wife got the grilled chicken sandwich, and honestly it was bigger and looked better than my poboy. I am definitely trying that next time. I hope this place is doing well because it never seems very busy when we go. It's like something is missing on the inside to liven it up. Our tables were covered in epoxy that was cracked and we saw buckling on the wood floors, most likely from humidity. Service has always been pretty quick and I have never had any complaints. I know the City caused a lot of drama for the previous owners, which is unfortunate. Definitely check this place out if you're looking for a place to hang out and have a few drinks and great food.

Tina had the normal breakfast combo with sourdough toast, pancakes, bacon eggs and hashbrowns. The hashbrowns were different but delicious. She also enjoyed an iced mocha. The place made our come back list for sure. We drove out of our way a little to try this place and it was absolutely worth it.

We visited on a Tuesday around 11 a.m., and it was packed. We circled around looking for a parking spot, then walked in ready to work on our laptops, as remote workers sometimes do at coffee shops. Unfortunately, the interior was underwhelming. The the plants looked like they had been left over from last Christmas. The chairs and tables looked old and felt old. Even the September menu was giving Christmas, which was very odd. It felt like they had given up for the rest of the year. The coffee was just okay and nothing memorable. After we sat down with our drinks, I asked for the Wi Fi, and that's when the barista told me they didn't have any. I'm pretty sure I laughed out loud. The service itself was good, and the baristas were very nice. After finding out there was no Wi Fi, I checked Yelp and saw the owner's response to another review explaining why the business doesn't offer it. It's 2026, almost 2027, and nearly every coffee shop has figured out how to provide Wi Fi for customers and maintain reliable systems behind the scenes. To me, it feels more like an excuse. I'm guessing many of the regulars are older locals who don't need Wi Fi and primarily come in to chat. If you're looking for somewhere to work, this is not the place.

It is a little pricier than I expected, but they do offer a lot of variety and some quality ingredients. We split the Yolk Breakfast, and the pancake was honestly the best pancake we've ever had! The texture and flavor were perfect, and we were both so surprised by how good it was that we would come back just for the pancake. The hash brown casserole was just as impressive--very savory, unique, and delicious. The sausage was a little gummy, and I don't think it was cooked quite long enough. Neither of us really cared for it. The eggs were scrambled, and I'm pretty sure they were pre-scrambled eggs or an egg substitute. I'd recommend ordering your eggs over-medium instead and skipping the scrambled eggs. Our waitress, Brooke, was very sweet and attentive, which made the experience even better. Overall, there were definitely some hits and misses, but the pancake and hash brown casserole were standouts, and we'd come back to try some of the other menu options.

I'll just leave that to your imagination. If your between the ages of 40-100 this place is perfect for you. You can definitely appreciate the quietness, the quilt on your bed, and the whole ambiance of the hotel. The hotel room is just bland. Welcome to the brunch experience of HOLY SHIT, WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE?…read moreFirst, abandon all expectations at the door. Service? Excellence? Basic supplies? Those are apparently premium add-ons. Coffee? No problem. Tea? Absolutely. Ketchup? Sure. Hot sauce? Of course. Oh wait. My bad. They're out of all of it. At some point I genuinely started wondering whether the restaurant had recently been looted or whether we had accidentally arrived during the final hours before foreclosure. Carbonated water? Nope. Bloody Mary? Bold of you to assume a bar should know how to make one. Mimosa? Apparently you'll need to get your ass back in the car, drive somewhere that maintains a working relationship with both fruit juice AND champagne, and try again. The bar itself appears to be partially stocked, which somehow makes it worse. It's like looking into a pantry after a hurricane. There are technically objects in there. Whether any of them can be combined into a recognizable beverage remains under investigation. And then there's the customer service. Sweet baby Jesus. The overall atmosphere feels less like brunch and more like I accidentally walked into the middle of a workplace dispute nobody bothered to warn the customers about. Nobody appears to be wearing the same uniform, or possibly any uniform at all, so identifying actual employees becomes its own interactive brunch activity. Last time we came in, a woman in a tracksuit approached us with such confidence that I genuinely had no idea whether she worked there, was another customer, or was about to ask us why we were sitting in her section of Planet Fitness. Turns out it was her first day as the hostess. Of course it was. Honestly, at this point, if someone walked out of the kitchen wearing pajama pants, carrying jumper cables, and announced they were the executive chef, I'd just nod and ask whether the ketchup had arrived yet. Nothing about the place feels coordinated. The drinks aren't coordinated. The staff isn't coordinated. The inventory isn't coordinated. I'm not entirely sure the building itself has been informed that it is currently operating as a restaurant. You don't come here for brunch. You come here for an experience. An experience that begins with, "Surely they have coffee," progresses rapidly into, "How are you out of THAT too?" and ends with you sitting in your car afterward staring silently through the windshield while your passenger whispers: "Let's go to Waffle House" Come hungry. Leave confused. And for the love of God, bring your own ketchup.
