On our weekly bike ride we pulled into the Waffle House in Daytona and had breakfast. Everything was great the place was clean we had great service the food was good and the price was right. I had the two eggs grits and toast breakfast and my friends had the larger breakfast with waffles. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was due to the yolk on one of my over easy eggs was busted. Do yourself a favor and skip this location. Can't say anything about the food - I never got mine!!!!!!! I stopped by this morning - got there at 8:33am - on a Thursday. Not real busy. Sat at the high bar & asked to place a to go order. The waitress says, let me get this table's order first & then I'll take yours. (They walked in behind me, by the way). She took and called their order. (I'm still waiting) She takes drink orders for two men who walk in five minutes after I did. (Now mind you, there are two other waitresses but no one says a thing to me). She gives the men their coffee and tells them she has to take my order. I ordered a bowl of grits, large black coffee and a side of bacon, crispy - to go. Ok, I should get this pretty quick - right? Be on my way to work. NOPE - she doesn't call it. Doesn't get the coffee. She delivers food to the people who came in right behind me, then takes the two men's order - also at the high bar.....AND CALLS IT! I tried to get her attention and she ignores me. Never will I ever go there again. I'll stick with going out of my way and go see Alanna, Tonya and Dee at the Nova Road/Port Orange location. It looks like a war zone in here that's first Out of the whole staff 1 gentleman looks professional all other look like they slept with the uniforms on and just woke up and went back to work. Then the young lady took my order and forgot to charge me for the extra sausage's it happens, But the I have this other guys come with the excuse that I did not pay for the extra and that I had to wait I top of that I needed to wait great way to start my day but again 1 at time new employees hopefully this will change with training on listening to your customer focus and read back the orders to your customer. As far as the other guy take responsibility for the mistakes and the customer shouldy not have to pay for the mishap or your lack of customer service. read more

My favorite thing to do when I fly into the East Coast is to hit a waffle House for a crispy waffle with extra pecans. It seems like that's a simple order but people never get it right. Today we stopped at the waffle House on international speedway just hoping that we could get a halfway decent waffle. I have to say Bryce our server, did absolutely everything right and I just have to give him kudos. He communicated with the cook exactly what we wanted and delivered it exactly as we asked for it. I cannot tell you how nice that was because I can't remember a time when that has happened at a waffle House. I asked for the same thing every time I go and this was the first time it has ever come out perfectly. He nailed it. And I just want to say thank you for making this breakfast for my sister and I so nice because the food was hot, it was prepared correctly, and he was very friendly and listened. Great job guys! Even all the staff seem to be excited, visiting with all the tourists, happy, and genuinely seem to be enjoying their work. It really showed! Keep up the great work guys. I just want to say, AMAZING! I brought two of my friends here (who had never been because of what they've "heard"), and I'm proud to say they left FULL & HAPPY! The experience for all 7 of us was amazing, the server was on top of everything and had an amazing personality. The cooks were also lively and personable. The hubs and I decided to go here for an impromptu breakfast! It was a last minute choice but it definitely was a decent choice! Upon entering, we received a friendly greeting and were shown to a clean table. The restaurant on a whole was clean and decent. We placed our order for drinks, reviewed the menu and soon placed our breakfast order. I ordered a fiesta omelet with onions, tomatoes, jalepeno peppers, cheese, & ham. It was spicy and tasty. My accompanying hash browns were served "scattered" with onions. Everything was good, but a bit greasy, which I expected. The hubs ordered a waffle with scrambled eggs and bacon. He enjoyed his meal and soon we were on our way. I must confess that I've had a cheaper breakfast for two at Cracker Barrel. Our bill came to $20 with tip, even though one of the two beverages was a free water. I would come again if I ever got that specific craving for the one and only Waffle House!!! read more

I love Waffle House, its just me maybe but I am kinda of semi fanatical about this place. They have a diner style setup inside and has a very friendly, close up, personal, and cozy fee to it. They cook right in front of you and provide great service more times than not. I like their waffles, chili,hashbrowns, eggs over easy, and their burgers once in awhile. I usually do get breakfast here though.The menu is very inexpensive and you can try a few items at a time for a good price They are also open 24 hours a day and I've eaten here at all hours of the day and always walk away satisfied. The customer service there is one of the worst places you'll ever receive in Daytona do not go there three African-American women do not want to work and take orders even at 2 AM when there is nobody there! One woman rather go outside and smoke a cigarette, then take a customers order, also, she decided to wave her fingers and hands in front of another customers face to get their attention. One word AMAZING! This is my new favorite breakfast place! It was clean, quick, fresh, and DELICIOUS! Me and my dad ordered the Ball Park Breakfast to share because it was big. I got the waffle with the sausage, and he got the eggs, grits, toast, and a side of hash browns all the way I got a strawberry waffle, which was out of this world good! BEST WALLLE I'VE EVER HAD! And the sausage was amazing too My dad got his eggs over easy with rasin toast and butter grits and he said it was SOO GOOD! He also enjoyed the hash browns all the way! VERY GOOD! The food was ok but sadly, I did not get all of my food at the same time. I ordered the pork chops and eggs. My friend ordered the steak and eggs. The rest of his meal was completely gone before they even got the steak to him. It took them 2 tries to do the eggs right and they weren't even done the way we liked them after the 2nd try but we were hungry and didn't want to wait anymore to eat. Very good!! I only have one complaint: STOP SERVING PRIDE BUTTER SUBSTITUTE containing partially hydrogenated soybean oil. That stuff blocks arteries!! Just serve real butter; it's better!!
