Had chicken and waffles at a Briarwood Little League game. The chicken was plump and juicy. The waffle was big, light and crispy. Loved it!

Picked up a snack from this food truck at the SoFA Street Fair this past weekend. No lines and no waiting on a Sunday evening. Got the Woman's Best Friend on the menu. Though the waffle piece was thick and fluffy and cooked just right to a browned crisp on the surface, it was overshadowed by the sliced strawberries and whipped cream which made up the majority of this dessert. These ingredients were good too, fresh and delicious, and the chocolate sauce added to the perfect combination of flavors, but the waffle (about the size of half a slice of bread) didn't shine in a way I'd expect from a waffle truck. Also, they ran out of or stopped selling the loaded waffle fries (with cheddar, bacon, and sour cream) by late afternoon. The waffles were overcooked (it was crunchy like a potato chip), the chicken were kid friendly tenders from Costco, the chili wreaked alcohol and you could definitely taste the liquor. Uncertain if it was beer or whisky that they used but they should've left that one ingredient out. The pulled pork slider was on the dry side but the dinner roll was good. The mac-n-cheese was not mac'n, it was flavorless and clumped together.  I would not recommend eating from Waffle Amore food truck because the lady with the salt/pepper hair is VERY, VERY rude and the quality of the food is poor.  Just a bad experience all the way around!! read more

I have been dying to eat out of a food truck after my recent visit to Portland and have been running after this specific one for a very long time!! My son and I decided to order some thing from there, and my son, who is six years old, is a huge fan of chicken and waffles, so I wasn't sure what his judgment would be. He told me the chicken was so good, and some of the best waffles he's ever had. He even really liked the syrup drizzle that was on it. I had the fried chicken sandwich which was exceptional, so it was only right for me to go back up to the truck and let them know how great the food was and our feedback regarding service as well. I met Judie who is the owner of the truck and she was so friendly and we talked about the service of people and talking and promoting your business. There were so many other trucks and the people selling we're not engaging with customers at all so I highly applaud waffle amor for doing what they do, and making great food. This was one of the food trucks at my son's school international fair, and the only one he would consider getting food from. There was a tater tots dish that comes with bacon and cheese that sounded really good, and as much as I suggested we get that one, he ended up choosing the waffle with strawberries, blueberries and whipped cream, which he loved. He got hungry again after playing for a while so we ended up going back (and for the record, the dish I'd been hoping to try was no longer available - apparently I wasn't the only who thought it sounded good), and got the "woman's best friend." San Pedro Market was the place to be for this year's SJ Made. Waffle Amore was here and I had to try them out! Since this truck was brand new to me, i had to ask for their popular waffle. Mark suggested their Bacon Cheddar Waffle. This already sounded like a winner already. This waffle turned out to be crispy and soft. My waffle was topped with bacon bits, chives, sour cream, and my favorite rooster sauce, sriracha. Oh, did I forget to mention bacon? The bacon lightly crisped. The saltiness of the bacon countered the sweetness of the waffle. The sour cream and the sriracha gave the waffle gave a cool and spicy balance. The chives were just there to give me my vegetable serving for the day. This waffle had brunch written all over it. I recently contacted her regarding an event, but she was booked for that day so she gave me a list of people to contact for my event. Because of Judy, I was introduced to Gold Rush Eatery. I've seen Waffle Amore all over the place and finally tried a few items from the truck. Last week, I tried the strawberry cheesecake and bananas foster waffles. They were both very delicious and so fresh. The homemade whipped cream was just right and not too sweet. If I were to pick my favorite between the two I tried, I would pick the banana foster waffles. Waffle Amore sells mostly dessert waffles. You can choose between a Brussels or Liège waffle. You can choose from a variety of toppings such as syrup, whipped cream, chocolate, nutella or marshmallow. I tried the Liège waffle for something different and I hated it. i was really excited when i found out waffle amore was gonna be in my area around lunch time on a Wednesday. I was going with my boyfriend and i told him we're getting both the brussels and liege waffle because i really could not decide on both... LOL ...fat.ass.... we got there at 1pm, so there were there for about an hour or so already, i think. since im super super super indecisive, we just got the specials of the day-- which were the strawberry cheesecake liege waffle and the bacon cheddar brussels waffle. But that i didnt really happen, as the bacon cheddar wasnt as savory and appetizing as i thought it would be and the strawberry cheesecake liege waffle was kind of hard to eat. Maybe the liege waffle was soaked too much in the maple syrup and hardened...?? I'm sad.. very sad. I had really high hopes for Waffle Amore but was left so disappointed. They have been on my radar from the very beginning and finally had the chance to try them recently, I would like to say they lived up to the expectation but no. First I was severely let down with their organization skills. I've been following on Facebook and saw that one Saturday they announced that they would be in Palo Alto from 5pm that evening so Hubby and I headed along and arrived at 5:15 only to discover they were nowhere in sight, thinking I may have got the day wrong I checked the Facebook app on my phone only to discover that roughly an hour before they changed their mind and would be there from 6pm. That's nice that they let people know but really? Not everybody sits on Facebook all day to see these posts. Anyhow, we waited... and waited. By 6:20pm they still hadn't arrived so we decided to head for some Dinner only on the way to our car at 6:22 we see the truck come down the road so decided to stick around. Almost 20 minutes of waiting we got to place our order only to find out that half of the items on their menu were 'out'. So much for trying 2 or 3 things on the menu. This food truck came today to our work place. My friend and I ordered the chicken and waffles along with the cheese steak and fries. Two words: Absolutely AMAZING. The fried chicken is juicy, very crispy skin (which doesn't sacrifice juiciness) and the taste has a light honey sweetness to it. The waffle also is crispy and had a creaminess to it. As for the Philly cheesesteak and fries, the fries are waffle cut and have a seasoning. Mine were at the perfect level of crispiness. I also got to sample Waffle Amore at the It's a Girl Thing's anniversary party, and while I thought I have had Belgium waffles before in the past, I was wrong. These are not the same as those insipid waffles you had as a kid at IHOP or Denny's; these waffles are incredibly complex, rich, nuanced, and AUTHENTIC. I tried two different offerings (one savory and one sweet) and was left speechless. The Liege waffle with strawberries and whipped creme had amazing flavor and texture, and the strawberries were super-fresh. The Cornbread waffle with vegan chili was another great surprise. The chili was very flavorful and rich, with the waffle providing a crunch counterpoint that you just can't get in the standard-issue cornbread muffin most people pair with chili. I'm hooked!!! The waffle was nice and crispy on the outside, but still fluffy in the inside. The waffle also had lots of flavor on its own. The chicken was okay. Could've been a little crispier and needed some salt, but not bad at all. The combo of the two still satisfied my craving. For dessert I got the bananas foster. Had this for the first time today because a co-worker knows the owners. OMG! Died and went to waffle heaven. I would eat here way too much if they had a physical location and that is saying a lot since I usually don't like waffles. I've been wanting to try out Waffle Amore for awhile, and finally got around to it! I don't really know how I feel about it. On the one hand, the waffle was crunchy and not overly dense. I recently experienced Waffle Amore at Antonella's in San Jose on a Sunday morning. I decided to go with a liege waffle with maple syrup. The waffle was tender and chewy with a hint of flaky/crispiness on the outside and a slight gooeyness to the interior (which is certainly welcomed!). The maple syrup was high quality, not to mention there was the right amount of syrup on the waffle. What impressed me above all else was that the consistency stayed the same from bite to bite. Yep, I've definitely got to come back again. A couple of little things threw me off first time around, so hopefully some of this will get cleared up next time around. First, since there were two people working in the truck, it took a while for the food to come out; I waited at least 10 minutes until after I ordered, and foot traffic wasn't heavy. Second, the waffles (at least the liege) aren't very big, so $6 for something that has syrup and whipped cream on it is steep (getting into sandwich pricing); that said, the quality of the food is excellent. Lastly, I had asked for my syrup on the side, but it came on the waffle. I was eyeing people eating waffles from this truck all night and finally got to try one at the end of the night.
