I ordered online for a pick up at a specific time. I happened to get there a little early & they didn't even start heating up the order until a little after I arrived. It was not ready for the pick up time, to say the least. No cutlery and plates included even though I asked for it in the initial order and when I first entered the store. The pizza was ok, a little heavily seasoned but that's much better than when it is under seasoned. I got a plain cheese and a pepperoni. This place just sucks. We've given it countless chances, it's convenient for us but now we've had enough. Pie's are pretty much always undercooked. I now ask for it to be well done, and either it's burnt or still not cooked. Why can't we find a happy medium here. The staff is not rude per se, but they just don't have good customer service. Delivery times are always outrageous, resulting in a cold (and undercooked) pie. When you go in to pick up, the staff is extremely scattered and clueless. Picking up phones and even washing dishes before asking "can I help you" There are 2 other pizzerias right within a stone throws distance that will now be getting my business every Friday night. PS- A friend of mine works for Riverhead Town and has stated this pizzeria is the only one in the area who does not donate/participate in Town fundraisers and/or functions. read more

Pizza is very personal. Personally I don't like the pizza here. The crust is very wide, wider than most places. Very bready. Sauce, also very personal..I didn't enjoy. Our margharita pizza, there was entire slice that had no cheese. It tasted just ok. Meatball roll was just ok too. Employees are very nice. It's clean, with booth seating. I won a gift card for here which is why we ordered here. My family agreed, we didn't enjoy enough to try here again. Too many other local pizzerias we enjoy more. Pazzo & LaBistro, also in Wading River are better in my opinion. read more

Thought we would give it a try since it is under new ownership. It was terrible!! The pizza was cold and soggy and way too salty. Tried to order 3 pieces of Sicilian in addition to the pizza but, at 4:30 in the afternoon, they only had 2 slices left. Isn't it almost dinnertime? Make another pie so the lady who came in after me and tried to order 2 slices of Sicilian was told they wee all out. Cant buy a small salad. They only have 1 size for 12.99! While the pizza is usually really good here, when I came in the owner was NOT wearing a mask, and all-the-while was handling pizzas (also with no gloves on). I left without making a purchase. I want to support local businesses, but not when they blatantly disregard state mandates that are supposed to keep their patrons safe. Please don't handle cooked pizzas without gloves on, and don't handle them without a mask during a pandemic. read more

I've seen a steady decline in this place in the past year. The food is rarely fresh and the delivery times are never accurate - I'm talking half an hour late. When I call the restaurant they casually tell me that "It's out. It'll be there." That's not sufficient when the delivery is that late and lukewarm to cold when it does arrive. I'll start this off by say that if I could allocate a restaurant a 3.5, I would for Wading River Pizza. Also, years ago I would have rated it a 4. The buffalo chicken slices lack in chicken. Also there plain slices lack in the crispy crush I would expect from a LI pizza place. Their Grandma slice's are fantastic though and worth stopping in for. If you're in the area it's not a bad place for a slice, but it's not worth traveling for. read more

Ate here once while visiting a friends house nearby. My buddy's house is 5 minutes away from Wading River Pizzeria yet the delivery took nearly an hour and the pizza was almost cold when it arrived. The cheese had cooled and started congealing back to a solid by the time I had a slice in my hands. That's not the worst part though. Found a tiny gnat like fly baked into the congealed cheese. An hour to deliver a pizza 5 min away and you people couldn't even quality check the pie.. As for how the actual pizza was had it arrived fresh and without a bug? It was oily, typical mediocre pizza. I came here on a Saturday afternoon and was pleased with the selection of pizza, at least 12 different kinds. I ordered a spinach artichoke slice, vodka slice, and a bbq chicken slice. Wading River pizza is the best!! There is lots of competition in that small town and they excel. Fabulous pizza and pasta too. I've only done take out or delivery but the ambience is inviting. Last night I stopped by and ordered a Grandma pie (square pie) with extra sauce and anchovies. They always have some sort of coupon special and it was only $15. They were busy so I went to the "liberry" to pick up an audio book. When I returned the counter man could not find my pie. He apologized and said he would make it right away at no charge so I went to the market. When I returned the Grandma pie (a square pie) was ready. It seems they made a mistake and made a round pie in error the first time. He gave me both pies for free. I love this place. Customer service as it should be. read more

Probably the worst pizza I've had in 2019 to date. I'm giving two star for cleanliness. The pizza was as soggy with oil as the Exxon Valdez. The first tip off should have been the kid was unable to pick it up which the slice spatula and had to get the pie board. Seriously this pizza should have been thrown out and not sold. Thin pizza crust and excess oil don't work well together. I took this to go as I was working. I couldn't pick it up. It was horrible. I've been coming here for about 4 years not and it has slowly by steadily declined. It is fine so don't pass it by if you're hungry but there's a lot better places out there. Their grandma pie looks delicious but when you bite in it is missing the signature crunch of the crust and the sauce is unnaturally sweet. It tastes like they add sugar. We love eating at this place even though its a 25 min ride east of our home. Don't let the pizzeria look fool you there are quality meals here just as if you were in a pure Italian restaurant with white table cloths. Of course the pizza, garlic knots and all that good stuff is great we really enjoy the meals. I always order the veal parm. its a good size portion just the right amount of breading and the sauce is fantastic. The new owner is extremely nasty. Additionally, my office had called in an order for delivery and he had stated it would be 45 minutes. As an hour went by, my office had called again as we only have a one hour lunch break. He explained that the driver was on the way and would be there in 1 minute, keep in mind our office is literally 2 minutes down the road. 20 minutes more had passed and we called again, he then again said our order is coming and that the driver just left. 15 minutes more went by! I came across a flyer advertising their lunch specials. My boyfriend and I being faithful la bistro customers decided to give this place a shot. We ordered 2 lunch specials (manicotti and stuffed shells I believe, something like that. It's been a while and we never went back). We called the food in and picked it up without checking it (our mistake really, but we were in a hurry). What we got instead was ravioli and a container with 2 big meatballs! What?! Not at all what we ordered. We called the pizzeria and they said to keep the food and come back to pick up what we actually ordered. As I said we were in a hurry (my bf was headed to work and I to school) so we couldn't go back to pick it up until way later. The man on the phone said he'd leave a note and we could pick up the food tomorrow. We called ahead (the same order) and explained to the person on the phone about yesterday, they said no problem. When we got there, they tried charging my boyfriend and the person behind the counter gave him such a hard time about the whole thing. Eventually, after fighting for about 5 minutes we got our food (it was right this time) for free, but they didn't give us 2 drinks (the special was supposed to have a drink for each meal). My boyfriend was just fed up with trying to get what we were supposed to and just left with one drink. Good pizza, but nothing to write home about. They use a lot of unnecessary flour, in my opinion. Having worked in a pizza place for four years, I am picky! Their house salad is not great and their dressing needs some serious revision - yucky. The garlic knots are not good at all.
