I'm not from Waco. On 3/2/25, my daughter and I were in town on a 3 day mini vacation. While walking downtown, we stopped in to browse. We were greeted upon entrance by a pretty tall male workers (I'm 4'11"). Everyone above my height is tall LOL! I'm not positive if it was Michael or Rob. He assessed my feet, gait and pressure just because I was curious. The results were sent to my email. He was very informative on the type of shoes they can recommend and would need to view how I walked. I found this to be the first athletic store to provide a comprehensive assessment for the right shoes. He also advised that they offered baseball hats(VIMHUE) which are specifically made for women as men have a different hairline than women. I tried it on and it fit perfectly and was comfortable with the cutout for a ponytail. I then understood what he meant as my current hat (Carhartt) was a slightly big. Although we hadn't planned on a purchase, I surely felt welcomed and educated upon our exit. Our visit alone was a great experience. =) read more

If you are a SERIOUS runner you DEF need to seek out an actual running shoe store to get FITTED for proper running shoes!!! When I first decided to start running about three years ago I did just this out in Cali and i am SO GLAD I did!!! So when it was time to replace my shoes I made Sure I looked for another Running Company out here in TX!!! And the folks at Waco Running did NOT disappoint!!! Ms Judy knows her Stuff!!! She made sure she got to know MY particular stride, walking style, running style; both forward and backward - even how one of my feet points in, that Im a little knock-kneed and that I tend to compensate for a bunion on one of my feet when I walk!! After Compiling All of this info we were able to find me the perfect replacement for what what I thought were my irreplaceable Brooks!! And MAN!!! My new TOPO ULTRAFLY3s are like running on CLOUDS!!! Very light weight, tons of room for my toes, cushion for DAYS.... I had very little troubles w my feet in my Brooks but now? ZERO muscle fatigue!!! Thanks so much Ms Judy!!! I was there today and was assessed as to what type of tennis shoe I needed. I looked at and tried on 6-7 pairs of shoes, but the one I liked only came in white or black, neither of which I wanted. The young man had me take a photo of the box and suggested I look online for other colors. I apologized for taking so much of his time and not being able to make a purchase. Such a great experience! I was desperately in need of some new shoes and went in asking for help. I was greeted by Judy who was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and very kind. She explained the differences between different types of shoes, analyzed my gait, and allowed me to step outside in various shoes to run to actually get the feel of each shoe. I left with a brand new pair of shoes and am incredibly grateful for her help. I definitely would have picked the wrong pair of shoes without her guidance. They also had a great selection of all different types of running gear. The shop was clean and everyone was very cognizant to all COVID protocols. Can't recommend highly enough! read more

If you are questioning whether or not you should stop in here for some shoes/running gear, don't. I was very impressed with my evaluation to determine which running shoes would be the best fit for me, and for my needs. Martinez was very knowledgeable and even allowed me to jog out front to get a good feel of the shoes. Bought my daughters spiked track shoes here about three months ago. As things happen a few of the spikes came out so I needed to get some replacements. Went in and was told that they don't carry the spikes and the only place in town was Academy. I do not understand why you do not carry these items, but if you want my money to be spent at Academy then maybe next time they will get the shoe sale also. read more

Great staff and very friendly. Went here on a weekend trip. Needed to grab some "tennis" shoes as we called them when asked what brought us to the store. The staff replied, "tennis shoes?" Ha, I picked up on what he was dishing out. I replied, "I mean running shoes." We were treated great even though we aren't runners and we're just looking for some "tennis" shoes.
