Luckily, I rarely forget experiences...especially one like my first experience blowing glass. What an INCREDIBLE time we all had here. Like so many who have recently wanted to try this...I watched Blown Away on Netflix. For the record tho...ever since I was a kid and we went on a field trip to the Corning Museum of Glass I have ALWAYS wanted to get into glass blowing. I think I could actually create some beautiful pieces IF I actually jumped in and started doing it. I've wanted for years to do it. So when you have a passion like that...I feel like you give it your all and then some. This past Winter I finally tried. We just made drinking glasses. Which is fine. It was a good start. Oh, when I started watching Blown Away, that show helped me confirm that I have waited long enough to try this haha. So a group of us went. There's 5 of us in our little circle of close friends. That made it extra special for me: Ok! The studio is very well laid out. Displays are absolutely beautiful. There is plenty to look at whether you are there to shop or you're there waiting for your class to begin. Look at all of it. It's all so inspiring. People create those pieces! Which just makes me think even more how amazing humans are! The people who work up front, incredibly nice. This place is run beautifully. The layout is next level, cleanliness...again, next level. The Hot Shop is great. Totally different than I was expecting. You see them on Blown Away, online, other various studios and you kinda expect them to be these hot boxes lol. This one is very open, not hot at all. I dressed in all kinds of booty shorts, tank bc I have neuropathy and heat makes the pain ...super intense. Even when I stood at the glory hole turning the rod (lol) to set in the colors and shape the piece, my neuropathy didn't bother me at all. Now, I'm sure if you were there for awhile, making bigger pieces, etc that you'd break a sweat. All of us tho stayed relatively dry for the duration of our class time. Wonderful experience. I still can't get over HOW. MUCH. FUN. THIS. WAS!! Josh was our instructor. What an amazing guy. I feel like we really lucked out getting him as our instructor. Super chill, easy to talk to, he wasn't judgey at all for all us 100% amateurs haha. Just an all around great guy. I kinda had a low key crush on him haha! He has this incredible beard too. Made me jealous. I can't grow one like that haha Anyway! Josh has been doing this a long time. Works at 2 studios here in Boise/Garden City area. VERY knowledgeable. Explains the process absolutely perfectly. It's always fun for me to see someone like Josh and love what he does. It's very obvious how much he enjoys what he does and I believe that added to the amazing time we had there. The pricing...well, I leave that up to yall to look up haha. It's glass blowing ffs lol, so expect to pay. Maybe that's why I haven't started it ... yet. It's an experience hobby. I hate calling it a hobby tho especially bc I'd like to get into and have it more than just a hobby. It's one of those experiences I've always wanted to try, finally did, and felt pure joy in my soul. It just made me so happy. I'm sure when/if you try it..you'll feel the same way. There's nothing like it. And even tho we just did drinking glasses, I look at my piece and think....damn! I created this! Green and brown are my favorite colors..:especially together. My piece was darker than the others. They give you a selection to choose from. They're nice choices, but I wanted to create my own with my own colors and own swirling type design. So much fun! I could go on, but I know Yelp is gonna cut me off. If you have ever thought about doing this....why keep putting it off? I put it off for decades! Literal decades. One of the biggest mistakes. My 3yo first intro to ballet EVER was here a few months ago, and she has fallen in love with Tutu…read moreSchool. It engages her imagination and fosters her sense of play. It's a wonderful way to socialize with other toddlers and parents too. I have seen an improvement in the way she plays with others since coming here to dance. She gets excited to go to Tutu class! The instructors are phenomenal with little dancers and meet them where they are. There is no pushing no drilling... just playfulness and inclusiveness. And it's incredible to see what young kids pick up on when they're not being pushed. My daughter does pliés, passés, and pirouettes in the kitchen daily and even says their names correctly! This is definitely a special place where they encourage fun and creativity. It's so playful and cute. Plus the owners of the studio truly care about you and your child's experience. Listen, I wasn't sure about this experience at first because heights? Me? Ooof. But this energetic,…read moreprofessional, kind, and extremely talented crew made the experience something to rave about. In fact, now I can totally see why people want to run away and join the circus!! Nestled right off of Collister and State in Boise, ID and with a super cute sign to boot, the crew was so welcoming. We started with warming up our shoulders then gratefully got to practice on a hanging bar much closer to the ground. They were there every step of the way with smiles and encouragement. I felt incredibly safe from start to finish and could tell that I was in very good hands. After a practice session and detailed step by step run through of how we would "launch", it was time to climb that ladder 25' up into the air. Sound scary? Yes, yes it was. But don't worry, you're in a harness and there is a safety line all the way up! Standing on that platform my heart was beating so hard but the instructors are just so awesome that I was expertly guided step by step until standing at the edge of the platform with the bar in my hands...it was time to fly!!! Now I have to tell you, I'm not an adrenaline junkie, I don't "like" extreme sports and I usually get carsick...ha. but you know what? Once I hopped off of that platform and the guide at the bottom was calling instructions, my body delivered and I felt like I've never felt before. My smile was just WAY too big while doing a flip dismount that I had to do nothing but follow orders to accomplish. I couldn't have felt more alive, accomplished, and so I happily scrambled up that ladder again and again to feel that rush. I didn't even get motion sickness, probably from all of the adrenaline coursing through my body! Always conscious about your skill and comfort level, they taught me a new move which I was able to practice. Some in the group even did a handoff which looked so cool! I couldn't be more grateful for this amazing experience, something I didn't even know that I needed to experience in my life. The whole crew was fantastic and kind. You don't have to be an adrenaline junkie to fly, and if you are, you'll just have that much more of a blast. Go fly!!

It's been a few months and we're thrilled with the level of care our daughter receives. She's happy when I drop her off in the morning and all smiles when I pick her up. There are only few children (which we love) and Vitali has done an excellent job curating the age groups. Even though our daughter is the youngest, she interacts beautifully with the the older kids. They're gentle, considerate, and share their experiences, toys, and books. The teachers and staff are delightful and obviously love children. They always take time to say hello, share stories, and provide detailed updates on our daughter. There was a teacher who left during our time, which seems to be an issue for all businesses these days, but Vitali was quick to find a new teacher and she is AMAZING. I am confident that my daughter is well cared for at Marina Daycare and will recommend it to any parent(s).

In 7th grade art class the assignment was to write a report on a contemporary artist. My child was told their pick was "too white male." My child was subsequently instructed to choose a BIPOC artist, with extra points if they were "queer." My complaints regarding this fell on deaf ears. Many of the teachers are pretty decent, but the school tilts WAY to the left. The non-woke portions of the curriculum are good, especially the math and outdoor-centric programs. However, we did put our son in a different international school and he was way behind in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. His new school has these as stand-alone classes starting in Grade 5. Not so at Riverstone.
