This is probably the best WaBa Grill I have visited.. Great first impression.. The restaurant was clean, and we were greeted with a smile when we walked up to order.. The chicken was dry and rice was soggy. It's fine sometimes orders don't always come out the right way. My biggest issue here is theirs no reason to have terrible customer service, cashier female (young) makes no face expressions and just gives off a rude vibe. The three stars is for the customer service I received from Kathy. If the food wasn't so delicious, it would have been only one or two stars. I explained to Kathy that this was my very first time eating at Waba, and therein lied the missed opportunity; she could have (and SHOULD have) used that to be kind, helpful and informative. Instead she chose to be rude, snotty and condescending. Upon coming home to eat, I was disappointed that my rice, veggie and tofu bowl (I added avocado - yum!) didn't come with ANY sauce on it. Information that would have been helpful. When I asked Kathy at the counter about the different sauces, she said (in a snotty tone that suggested I was inconveniencing her) that they have "Waba sauce". I then had to further ask what Waba sauce is, and she said it's basically teriyaki. Of course, I assumed from that conversation that the bowls COME with teriyaki sauce. They don't. Good thing I just happened to grab a few sauce packets from the counter. With that said, this was truly a DELICIOUS lunch. So good! I called and spoke to manager Arturo not only to tell him about how yummy my lunch was, but also to convey my disappointment with my experience with Kathy. He couldn't have been any nicer and apologetic, and offered me a discount on my next visit. I appreciated him being so kind and hearing me out. Because of that, I will be back. read more

This waba grill sucks. Came here and ordered a chicken bowl, the chicken had a gray almost black color (not cooked right or old) and it also tasted very raw. I had a stomach ache after eating it. This review is for the quality of the food. I ordered a Chicken veggie bowl with brown rice and honestly the chicken tasted like ass. I don't eat ass but you know what I mean. I just think they need to get better chicken here. It was so dry I literally had to drench my bowl in sauce to eat it. The people who work here are the best. I actually lost my dentures and they went the extra mile to unravel the mystery. They wouldn't let it go and called me back hours later to say they found them. After trying Flame Broiler, this food is kind of mediocre. The menu items and setup are similar to Flame Broiler in that you can customize a bowl with rice, veggies, and different types of meat or tofu, but with the addition of salmon and shrimp. I ordered a bowl with half veggies, half brown rice, and salmon, and everything in the bowl was over cooked. It wasn't awful, but I think I'll stick to Flame Broiler for this type of restaurant. read more

This Waba ain't too Shaba! Okay doesn't really rhyme but it's true, this location is a good one. We placed a phone order because you know how much easier it is when you walk in to a faster food place and you can make it even faster by calling it in. It's always a little bit of a toss up because you take a chance getting your order wrong. Well the associate that helped me was friendly and he seemed to take my order right and repeated everything back to me correctly. When we got there the parking was pretty good. Typical strip mall with shared parking. The inside of the store was clean and had the station to pack our own sauces, jalapeños, and even green onions! We loaded up on everything. Our order was ready for us when we got there just like we master planned it and we were off. When we got home we were all happy that our bowls were just the way we ordered and all tasted good, fresh and hot. This Waba has it going on and we will be back for sure! read more

It was totally my fault! I ordered lunch with a dear friend who has health issues that I hoped to accommodate and when the order arrived I realized my mistake. For myself I could accept my error, but not for my friend. Waba Grill's employees handled it with an owner's mentality - not giving away the store yet giving us what we needed. This is a newer location. Its spacious, clean, and convenient! Food is on par with other Waba Grills and no conplaints as of yet. Only gripe I have is that if you get your bowl without veggies and just rice it will be $1 cheaper. I find it almost insulting to get charged $1 for 2-3 pieces of broccoli as I don't eat Cabbage or Carrots! Lol oh well. Thanks for having Avocado and a reasonable price though! I would give them 6 stars if i could! I've worked many years in retail and I know how hard it can be to run a fast pace store smoothly. I've been coming here for lunch about 6 months now. This place is always very clean and EVERY staff member I've interacted with is extremely friendly and professional. I like how attentive they are to their customers and they do seem sincere. In particular, the manager Arturo is super friendly and from what I've seen he goes out of his way to make customers feel welcome and supports his staff very well. I don't usually review restaurants, but i felt compelled since the experience here was so positive and a great example of how a restaurant(even a fast food restaurant) should make you feel. It was my luck to discover Waba Grill on Van Buren in Riverside. I visit my family here a few times a year; and after the long flight from Miami (and a day of airport food ), I am always looking for a healthy, fresh, and tasty meal when I get into town. I wasn't paying attention to the time and I came right as things were closed up , and the super friendly staff took me in, took my order and served me something just as fresh as it would be during lunch hr.
