Onion rings
Janice W.

We went to W Bar Bistro for the first time tonight. We had the onion rings as an appetizer and they were delicious. I ordered the Korean chicken and waffle and it was OK, I probably would not order it again. However, my husband ordered the blackened salmon over brussel sprouts and he could not stop raving about the dish. I have not heard him go on like that about a meal in a very long time. I think the food prices are decent, but I feel like the drink prices are a bit inflated. We will come back for another experience.

Decided to try this spot over on the west side of Cincinnati. Great location and plenty of parking. We were seated right away. Took a while for the server to great us. They were all huddled by the ordering system. They had a nice menu selection. I was excited about the salmon with brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts were really good. They were caramelized with onion and bacon. The grilled salmon was delicious too. It had a sweet chili glaze that I enjoyed. The fish and chips were epic. The fish was huge and the fried breading was delicious. It had a hint of malt vinegar to it. They gave us tons of fries. The restaurant could be loud at times. The noise primarily coming from staff chatting in the kitchen. That was a little distracting from our dining experience. We decided to get a scoop of ice-cream on our way out. There's an attached ice-cream parlor which is fun. I got a scoop of salted caramel. The scoop was huge and the ice cream was really good. Overall it was a nice experience. I'd try it again. Next time I'd get a boozy slush from the ice cream shop.

I don't get over to the west side of town alot but I am trying to improve that My friends decided on this adorable place It has a bistro vibe and a big bar in the middle of the restaurant My friend said they have changed the menu to add a lot of Mexican items I did order the mission burrito with beef and guacamole The beef was so well seasoned and the guacamole fresh so good My friends ordered fish and chips and the smash burger All very good The best surprise we got a free sundae or milkshake from Aubrey Jacks which is part of the restaurant It was amazing

What a great place for dinner. We came for the happy hour menu. A smash burger and flatbread. Both were great. Service was really good. We'll be back. Love the neighborhood feel.

Mac and Cheese w/ BBQ Grippos. Recommend passing on this.

I almost went with a three-star review, but the place is so cute. I had to give an extra star for ambience. Our waitress was nice and knowledgeable. We ended up with fish and chips and a burger. We also got a side mac and cheese. The fish and chips were good. The burger was good. The fries were very good. The mac and cheese was a huge disappointment. We had high hopes, but the mac and cheese was bland. It sounded fantastic, but it was not special. I recommend a pass on this. Aside from the miss on the mac and cheese, everything else was tasty and satisfying. We'd come back.

I came to the W Bar + Bistro several months ago. It's a great restaurant on the Westside of Cincinnati. There was plenty of parking in the back of the restaurant. The appropriate attire would be business casual. The decor is cute. There's a nice bar area with ample seating. I came with a group of 8 for dinner. The dinner selections were sufficient. Some people at the table ordered the Chicken Alfredo, the Fish and Chips, and someone ordered the Vegan Chicken Club with Fries. I didn't want to be annoying and take pictures of everybody's food. LOL But, everyone said that they enjoyed their food. I ordered the Short Rib Risotto which was flavourful and cooked to perfection. I got the house salad with Raspberry Vinaigrette. It was good. I skipped out on dessert, but I had a glass of house wine, which was pretty good. The servers were attentive and worked together to make sure that everyone had what they needed. With so many great restaurants to try in Cincinnati, I would have to say that this deserves a try if you find yourself on the Westside.

We have been wanting to try W Bar Bistro for sometime now. I've read all the great reviews and looked over the menu many times. I did make a reservation for a Friday evening. When we arrived it seemed we didn't need the reservation. We were seated right away and met with our friendly waitress. Both of us ordered a glass of Pinot noir and a started off with the buffalo cauliflower bites. My wife ordered the salmon with a salad and I had the American Burger. All the food was delicious and served perfectly. This place is not easy on the wallet though. Two glasses of 9oz wine, burger, salmon, cauliflower bites and a Michelob Ultra = $100. Overall the W is a win based on location, service and food. I'm really starting to love this area of Westwood. More restaurants to come!

Chicken tenders and bistro fries

Service was wonderful!! I love the space. The menu is pricey for what it is, but the portions are huge. I loved the Asian salad (I added salmon) and my husband liked the chicken tenders. However- they are more like fried chicken breasts. He also was not a fan of the buffalo sauce. We liked the quaint bar area. We'd come back for specials or if portions sizes were smaller and in turn, the prices were lowered.

Fried green tomato with burrata appetizer and 1/2 price bottle night.

The food is outstanding across the board--from the steaks to the cheese sticks--but the real star is their bread pudding. It's absolutely worth the trip from anywhere in the tri-state area. Parking is also easy and convenient, with a garage right across the street, as well as their own lot and additional street parking. Highly recommend if you're looking for a great meal and an even better experience.

They have a charming patio at the back of the interior space as well. I didn't realize they have their own lot, but in case it's full, there is plenty of street parking nearby. The service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and kept drink refills flowing. We ordered the pretzel and beer cheese and the poutine for starters. The pretzel was huge and tasty. I didn't care for the beer cheese, probably because I was expecting a more solid cheese product. I would describe this more as a cream sauce. It didn't seem to have much cheese in it and was very 'liquidy'. Also the ramekin was only half full. If it had tasted better, I would have asked for more, but as it was not, we didn't even finish what was given. I thought it was a bit pricey at $12.95 for one large pretzel. On the other hand, the poutine was fantastic! A very unique take on the dish with a mix of cheese curds (although they reminded me more of pieces of mozzarella sticks), french fries and Andouille cream gravy. I ordered the fish tacos which consisted of Blackened Salmon, Thai Chili Sauce, Black Bean Corn Salsa, Pico de Gallo. My order came with two and they were fantastic! Since Blinkers is known for steaks, I will have to give them another try at dinner time.

After seeing my niece graduate from college, our entire family and guests, all eight of us,…read moredescended on Coppin's restaurant for brunch. Normally, I find hotel food is just okay and nothing special, but Coppin's was a pleasant surprise. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess, and our equally pleasant server quickly brought menus and asked what we would like to drink. When it was my turn, I happily ordered Coppin's Old Fashioned. I was the odd man out because everyone else ordered the Spring Manhattan. Judging by how quickly everyone's drinks disappeared, I'd say they were all very tasty. I was a little unsure about mine at first, so to make sure the quality and taste were consistent, I ordered a second, and it definitely was not a mistake. I ordered the B+G biscuits (which are made by hand according to server in the hotel) and gravy with an extra egg. Others at the table chose a variety of dishes, including the CVG, Cobb Salad, Bagel and Lox, and several other selections. Based on the clean plates all around the table, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. My wife ordered a sample of banana bread, and I was fortunate enough to snag a small bite, it was excellent. After we had all finished, everyone agreed that my niece had made an excellent choice for her graduation celebration brunch. As my wife and I made our way back to Louisville, we both commented that we would definitely return the next time we were in Covington.

Going back and forth on stars for this one. Me and around 30 of my coworkers came into town for a…read moretwo day workshop and they got us a room block at this hotel. I ended up being in the North Building and cracked up when I walked into my room and saw I was in one of the Lightwell Lofts (a few of us ended up in them by chance, guess they included them in our room block lol). While the room was super cool and beautiful, there was a lot to be desired. After taking a million photos of the gorgeous room, I quickly realized a major flaw - the bedroom is upstairs, the bathroom is downstairs, and the staircase between the two is a crazy narrow spiral staircase. As someone that gets up to pee in the middle of the night, having to traverse the spiral stairs was terrifying lol. One of my coworkers actually swapped with someone who had a "normal" room because he was worried about falling down the stairs. My downstairs tv wouldn't turn on. I fiddled with the remote a bit, tried rearranging the batteries, but couldn't turn it on. I used the ipad in the room to put in a maintenance request, but no one came. I figured I would just let the front desk know when I headed out to dinner that night. Hours later, the front desk calls me to see if anyone had come to fix the tv - they hadn't. The girl was very nice and apologetic, she said I sent the request in the middle of a shift change and someone had accidentally marked it as complete. So she said someone would be right up, and he did come up. Handed me a handwritten note and a $25 coupon for Coppin's which was totally unexpected and a very nice gesture. Turned out, he knew exactly what the problem was - he said the remote was broken and he was supposed to swap it out but forgot. Gave me a new remote and all was good. He also mentioned there is a second remote upstairs for that tv. After he left, I went to look for it - there was no second remote. We held our meetings in the Scheper Room, which was also beautiful. The room was absolutely freezing the first day and I'm someone that prefers it a touch colder and was uncomfortable. We had to get them to update the thermostat and then in the afternoon it was way too hot. We had food brought in from the hotel and it was all fine, nothing super memorable. There was soup at lunch but the sign didn't even say what it was - just "chef's choice." The Italian hoagies were way too big and needed to be cut in half, I couldn't even finish half of one. The salad with fruit/pecans/etc was my favorite though. They had the completely wrong password on the tables for the Wifi but thankfully we figured it out quickly that we just had to use the room password. The second day for breakfast, there was yogurt on the menu and even on the sign with all the food - but there was no yogurt. Some of my coworkers were specifically asking for yogurt so we had to request it directly because it was included and paid for. Box lunches to take to go on the second day which were fine, I had the chicken caesar salad wrap. Housekeeping didn't come to service my room until 5pm when I was in there getting ready for dinner, so I was not able to get the room serviced. Just asked them for some more coffee. My conditioner in the shower was empty but I didn't bother reporting it after the tv issue and I had my own conditioner with me, so used that. The lotion at the sink was so thick that I could not get it out of the bottle at all, I had to use q-tips to get it out (it was nice quality, just kinda useless if you can't get it out of the bottle lol). Great local offerings on the mini bar and in the fridge. My coworkers and I got a kick out of the "intimacy kits" because we were on a business trip haha. The Magic 8 ball was fun, I loved the conversation cards even though I just read a few of them to myself haha. Even with the bedroom upstairs, it was nice to have the big double closet in the bathroom hallway so I really was just in the loft to sleep and kept all my stuff downstairs. The location is great, lots of fun stuff right nearby. The courtyard is lovely. I would say this is a solid 3.5 stars but since we can't give half stars, I'll give it a 4 because the staff was overall very nice and quickly fixed any issues, just a little annoying that we had any issues at all.
