Service was terrible to say the least. Went there Sunday 19 November at 6:30 pm. We called ahead and made reservations so they were well aware of a large group (15 people) coming. We had 4 different group of adults, so wanted the checks separated. The waitress said we could address that at the end, she just wanted our order. She took apps orders and drinks. Never offered us water, and only brought back the drinks she could carry, nothing from the bar. After a while, almost to the point of me going to the bar, another staff person (possible manager) came and took the bar order again and brought the drinks. Appetizers arrived shortly after. She then took our dinner order. That started out in an orderly manner then she suddenly stopped, went to her station to put in the order and continued in a different manner. Food order in, everything ok with help of manager. Now the food comes out and the disaster continues. One member not served and another missing a side. Had to find her to get the other entree. As far as the missing side, her response was "yeah, we are out of green beans" and never offered a substitute, so he asked for a salad and she never brought any type of dressing, so he had to ask again, and said just bring any kind. By this time, with the bad attitude and poor service, we were just happy to get something to eat and get out. Well, the waitress couldn't even get that right. Asked for a to-go box, never came. I had to go to the bar with my plate and ask for a box. Remember splitting the bill, well that wasn't happening either. With an attitude, she said the best she could do is split two ways, total bill in half. We had five different families there and she knew it. As we were exiting, once again she had to walk past us and with attitude and rudeness, let us know she walking past. We spent near $600 dollars and not one happy person in our group. We come from Maine, Centerville, Eastgate and White Oak and will never gather there again. Service was terrible and with an attitude. Food was good. But do to the waitress and her attitude, we can't recommend going there. read more

We were a party of four, out for a new dinner experience. Ambiance was nice, maybe a bit cramped. Our service was good, very attentive. However, the food was sub-par, especially for the price. We had the fried green beans that were nondescript, but acceptable with the dipping sauces. One of our party ordered the California chicken sandwich which they enjoyed. My wife & I ordered American burgers which looked like pre-packaged patties & tasted remarkably bland even with the W sauce. They were in no way comparable to the pictures displayed on their website. We had one order of Mac & cheese that was equally unimpressive as well as fries that were, well, fries. The sandwiches/burgers ($13) do not come with sides so there's an up charge ($5 for fries). The only thing impressive about the whole meal was the size of the glass of wine. Unfortunately, the quality of the food just isn't enough to encourage a return trip. read more

The service was top notch. I requested a better selection of NA beers and the manager said she was working on it. It's this type of flexibility that makes establishments THRIVE as opposed to big chain restaurants. No "red tape" to jump through. The Men's room in the basement is a negative. My elderly father could NEVER get down those stairs and he goes to the bathroom frequently. The fresh oysters were amazing. When the main entrée came out, I had ordered the filet mignon dinner, the portion was very nice sized. It was served with parmesan crusted fries that tasted like they just came from the freezer. I tried the filet and was extremely disappointed. There were NO seasonings on the steak what-so-ever. It was just a hunk of filet. I have done more than my share of cooking filet mignon and, at the BARE MINIMUM, used sea salt and coarse pepper. Nope - nothing. So this failed experiment was a good learning lesson. Be prepared for bland food when eating here. read more

W Bar Bistro is a great revival of Henke/Window Garden, but with a vibrant look and feel. The bar is well stocked and our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. First time at this restaraunt, but won't be my last. A very interesting food venue, The service was just fantastic & our server was awesome, She was very friendly & fun, the food was off the hook, Our group didn't get any appetizers & it was a good thing we didn't, The food you get is quite filling but make sure you leave room for dessert, Before I leave the entree area, 3 of our group got burgers & they were huge, everyone enjoyed them, I had the Fish entree & it was fantastic, the only part I didn't enjoy was the Kimchi Slaw, Just a bit too sour for me but others may like it, The Mac & Cheese with the Bar-B-Gue Grippo Chip crumble was amazing, An interesting twist to a dinner basic, Now for dessert, They do an amazing cobbler, The Chef comes up with a new one every day, We had the luck of being there when the Chef made an Apple-Cheesecake Cobbler with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, The Chef made 2 of my absolute favorites combined, It came out hot & the ice cream was melting over the sides already, The 4 of us split 2 of them, Like I said at the beginning I am so glad we ordered dessert instead of appetizers. I noticed that folks who have previously posted had an issue with paying for parking, We did not as that money comes back into the Westwood community in the form of improvements in the neighborhood. She was so pleasant and professional .I really enjoyed watching her while she did her task with the upmost precision . The drinks and food per usual were amazing . The food and service was very good. Limited wine selection. I enjoy a sweet wine and only offered semi sweet. Very loud. Not sure if anything could be done about noise level. My biggest complaint is having to use smart phone to pay for parking. Due to having to pay for parking I will not return. read more

We went for lunch and the restaurant was not very busy. Server was friendly, however, the wait time for our food was quite long. The food was good overall. We were happy with the portion sizes and the quality of the food. The gluten free bun served with the burger fell apart- not completely unusual for GF buns, but there are better ones. Stopped by on Tuesday night to visit this new place on the Westside. It was very good. Had the Bibb lettuce salad with a piece of salmon . Salad was very generous and the salmon was delicious. Atmosphere was very nice and our server Anne was very attentive. My husband and I shared the yummy warm blue berry cobbler with ice cream! Will go back ! we had dinner here on Saturday March 11 2023 . We had reservations upon our arrival we were seated water was brought to our table menus were put on our placed as we were seated . Our server Anna was a joy she informed us of specials .She did not rush us or hover over us . the food was delicious large portions prepared perfectly. We will return . There were three In out party. I'll preface this by saying they've only been open a couple of weeks and there are kinks that need to be worked out. We expected that. But our reservation was at 7 pm on a weeknight. Our server was Amy and she was great. It took a very long time to get drinks, appetizers and food but that wasn't her fault. Our appetizers came around 8:10 and entrees finally arrived at 9pm. I ordered the berry Tom Collins. Nice drink! The brie puffs were good but the texture of the "puff" was soft and doughy, not flaky and crispy like we expected. The sweet chili sauce saved that appetizer. Without it, it had no flavor. The poutine was very good. My fish and chips was bland. I don't think they seasoned it at all. There was a doughy breading on the cod and it should have had more of a crunch to it. Their chicken tenders were juicy but also, zero seasoning, not even salt on the fries. The W sauce was ok but runny-and maybe that's how they want it but it didn't "stick" to the tenders. Our friends got the Korean chicken sandwich, which had the most flavor of anything on the table other than the poutine. We had less than 10 minutes to eat because we had to leave by 9 and we were already running late. Again, we expected there to be some kinks being so newly opened. But the extremely long waits and the bland entrees and inconsistencies were disappointing. We're definitely willing to give it another try in a few months. Glad to see others had a great experience. Wish we'd had the same but it was likely just an off night. We'll be back to try again. We really hope this place is hugely successful! It's a welcome change to the West side! read more

First timers & disappointed. Since we live nearby, hoping this would be our new favorite place. Three of us - ordered fried green beans for appetizer, chicken tenders, fish & chips, and Asian salad with tuna. Portion sizes were huge, way too much trying to justify the high prices. Felt we over ate to get our money's worth. Taking home fried food for next day, it's just not as good when eating it there. Fries way over salted, Salad had 2 types of beans (black & green), after green bean appetizer, I was beaned ou. .. would have preferred cold or crispy noodles in place of some of yhe beans. Chicken tenders were 3 large breast size pieces. Taste was OK on all, but have had better elsewhere. Parking terrible. Rrally $2 + 35 cent fee plus frustrating app started eve off on wrong foot. Service was excellent, overall business concept needs tweaking (smaller portions, smaller prices). We will give them another try, but will stick to drinks & appetizers or stick to shared entrees only (which my preference is to have my own). read more

Saturday around 4 PM. Had to pay $2 to park in their own parking lot. Upon entry, the host asked if we had reservations. We said no, do we need reservations? He impolitely said we prefer them (even though the place was almost completely empty.) The waiter was nice and talked A LOT, but he did NOT listen. We had to ask him MULTIPLE times whenever we needed something (even water). The menu listed food that they didn't have (and probably wouldn't ever have again according to the waiter). The California Chicken Sandwich on the menu says it comes with Avocado and Red Pepper Aioli, but neither was on the sandwich. We had to ask and wait for them. When the Avocado came, it was a smashed mush. Then the waiter tried to charge us an extra $1 for the Red Pepper Aioli even though it was left off the sandwich. The Kimchi Slaw was way too bitter and not crisp at all. The restaurant is very nice on the inside after the renovation (with exception of needing sound dampening), but due to the staff and the food and drinks being overpriced, we'll probably never visit there again. read more

Sadly, our first trip to W Bar and Bistro for lunch was not pleasant. We called first to see if there was any wait and the cheerful gal on the phone said no, upon getting there we were greeted by a man who did not look up once from his tablet asking if we had reservations (we did not but the place was almost empty and we had called) he continued to stare at his tablet for a while before taking us to a back room and seating us directly next to a party of 6. The host was annoyed when we asked if we could move to a table slightly further away in the same section. I ordered the Bistro Asian Salad with steak and my partner ordered a burger (that does not come with fries). The steak was supremely over cooked (ordered medium rare and it was well) and the salad tasted like chemicals. The "adzuki" beans seemed to be regular black beans and everything else was in a soggy pile even though the dressing was on the side. My partners burger was nothing of mention and left a lot to be desired. For a $50 lunch, and from the owners of a more established and higher end restaurant, I had much higher expectations. The server was sweet so we did not send any food back or ask for any refunds, however we will likely not be back. Sad to see when we were expecting a new neighborhood staple. read more
