Felt like our 25 year old fridge was no longer at its best - taking long to cool to temp and over recent years needing to dial it to a higher setting to keep milk from going back early. Did get assigned a 4 to 6 p.m. window on Friday afternoon. Got a confirmation just before 6 p.m. that Ian was on his way. Glad that Ian made it - he determine that our fridge coils really needed cleaning in the back (I've only cleaned underneath regularly and only discovered recently that there was a lot to clean on the back, which I did just the exterior. He took care of the insides I think near the coil and compressor and determined that our starter was fading. I think it was 1.5 hrs of work and parts for $250. May seem like a lot, but perfect for us to keep a 27 year GE fridge running as well as it has been. We'll know now to have the fridge cleaned when performance dips rather than bumping the setting colder.

One is on 3240 W Lawerence Ave Ave which is where I've bought 95% of the appliances I've bought from L & L over the years. The second store was @ 4250 W Montrose (this is basically a storage yard) and the third one that I went to today for the first time is @ 2553 W North Ave. they are nothing fancy just inexpensive functional appliances. L & L Appliances has a large assortment of different used appliances for personal & commercial use. I use to own 3 buildings so I needed to buy used appliances like refrigerators & stoves for the tenants & an occasional coin operated washer & dryer for a fraction of buying something brand new. They are a second hand refurbished appliance stores. I have an upright freezer in the basement of my house that isn't working properly so I called L & L Appliances to see if they might have something to fit my needs wo/having to buy a brand new freezer. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, just functional to fit within given dimensions in an alcove in my basement. I called one of my contacts at L & L only to be refered to another person. I texted information to my new contact on what I was looking for and the search began. I touched base about once a week just to let him know I was still looking. Well persistence pays off as there are other people that were also looking for a utilitarian freezer, nothing fancy just functional to fit the designed space. I received a photo of the freezer that was available. It is a little smaller both in height & depth then the one I have now but we can live with it. I looked at it today at the North Ave location bought is and have delivery set up for tomorrow afternoon. L & L Appliances has 3 stores, but all 3 are currently closed due to Covid (no walk ins wo/an appointment. 2 out of 3 of my contacts are either deceased or retired. I set up a time w/Chuck the last of the Mohicans to meet him and see the freezer in question. I have dealt w/them for years. Sure they're not brand new and for my purposes they didn't have to be top of the line manufacturers, but I fear they're a dying breed as Father Time is catching up w/the owners of L & L. I have literally saved thousands of dollars over the years buying used appliances from L & L and will continue ur to as long as the need arises or until they close up shop. Thanks L & L for many years of good reliable appliances at a fraction of the cost of brand new ones.

I was pleased with both the service & the quick turnaround. Mark was pleasant & explained to me the service that needed to be performed and the cost, I paid him over the phone with my cc and was able to pull up in the back of the store & Mark brought the vacuum out to my car.

We hired Paul specifically to clean our dryer and replace the dryer vent hose. To do so, he had to pull my stacked washer and dryer away from the wall. Before he arrived, the washing machine was working perfectly. Immediately after he completed his work and pushed the units back, my washer stopped functioning properly and began sending water onto the floor instead of the machine. When brought to his attention, he claimed he didn't know what happened or what could be causing the problem. He came back the following morning to look at the washer, but rather than diagnosing and resolving the issue, he was completely at a loss. To make the situation worse, he took the washer apart and left my home without identifying the problem, without fixing it, and without putting the washing machine back together. His suggestion was that I could order a part that might fix the issue, but he wasn't sure that would be a solution. This is not the level of competence or professionalism I would expect from someone charging for appliance services. A technician should know their limitations, and take responsibility for their work (or lack thereof). I hired him for a functioning dryer cleaning and was left with a broken washing machine, a machine in pieces, and the cost of hiring someone else to fix his mess. At no point did he take responsibility for resolving the damage that occurred while servicing my dryer. Save yourself the headache and hire someone who knows what they're doing.

Do not use this company! Hi neighbors. I recently had my…read morewasher serviced and had an awful experience. I used Home Appliance Doctors in Park Ridge (Neb Michailovic). I washed a dog bed and stuffing got stuck in my washer and water would not drain. I have done this before so I knew what the issue was from go. The owner Neb came out and spent 20 minutes cleaning out the stuffing and charged 195 for repair. I was not home at the time but was told it was fixed. It was not. Contacted him again and he came out the next day and spent another 25 minutes removing more stuffing that he missed the first time. Again,I was not personally home for this bc of work but a family member was there. When I came home that night I found my washer damaged and now the agitator was not spinning but it was draining. When I reached out to the owner and questioned the repair again and the visual damage he said he worked on my machine as good as he does on other customer machines and blamed me for washing a dog bed and offered no help other than telling me to unplug machine for 15 minutes. He didn't even apologize for damaging my machine even after sending him pics. Now I need to buy a new machine. This company has terrible customer service and obviously not professionals to say the least. Mistakes happen, but to not own up to them or even inform the customer it happened is just unacceptable. I've included pics of the damage. I would not recommend using this company. Lesson learned.
