So, that seemed a little outrageous. Contacted nick and from the onset knew that this would be a different experience. Let the glazing begin! Cannot say enough about nick and the business that he runs. Was a pleasure to work with him diagnosing the issue (he took a look at the photo l, asked me to retrieve the model number on the stove/griddle and saved me that absurd 210 fee) - gave me variable pricing between generic and OEM parts, and was quick to schedule service rather than having a lead time of weeks out like the other companies were requesting. On top of that, he went out of his way to take a look at my dishwasher as a courtesy as it was giving us an error just before he left our home. People like nick remind me that there remain honest and hard-working service people out there. They said they could try to do a repair for about $1.3k but that they couldn't guarantee the repair would be effective because of the condenser. They then tried to sell me on their highest end heat-pump for about $24k, which was too much for our needs, since our furnace was also functional. We ended up choosing a basic AC replacement for around $9k. They were able to install the new unit two days later. However, on the day of the install, they saw some surface level rust on the furnace heat exchanger and tried to get me to replace it for an additional $4k. When I said no, they backed off and recommended a CO alarm (which we already have). It felt like I was being heavily taken advantage of because I was in a dire situation. The installation went fine, but my experience of being pressured and hard sold to during the process made it feel like I was being milked for every penny they could get out of me. Take this as a precaution to check your HVAC AC/furnace/heat pump regularly, and get multiple quotes before deciding on work. If you go with this company, they will seemingly do an effective job, but they will try their best to get as much money out of you as possible.

James: your tech came and all he did (besides his constant: "call my office for a new unit") was spraying (my) water on my 2.5T Trane... THIS IS NOT "MAINTENANCE"... To say: "your system is on borrowed time to say the least and extremely inefficient the older it gets." is immature. the unit works FINE, is very efficient, as I write it. I am a seasoned Senior Design Engineer (has one USA patent granted) and know "something" about "something". I design things for all to use them and for some to service them. 2.5T for a small house like mine is possibly an overkill but that explains its lasting. 40 years of working AC unit is unheard of, correct, but it is ME who decides about replacement or maintenance, and your tech (still working there?) did NOT do the maintenance I've paid for. So, he did no technical work and you owe me that 99(?) bucks :-)

Our AC was from the 90s when we moved in a couple years ago, and recently when we noticed our house wasn't becoming any cooler with our AC on all day, we knew we would probably need a replacement since it was 20+ years old. My parents had Elvis come out last year to repair their furnace, and right away, they recommended him to us. When I initially contacted him, I wanted to be sure he could come to Schaumburg since he is in Chicago, and it was no problem. I initially asked for him to complete a diagnostic to see what was wrong, and when he arrived, he came to the conclusion that we had a refrigerant leak. He told us he could replace the refrigerant but informed us that it would be an expensive short-term solution. As a result, we hired him to replace our AC unit, and since we were paying for a whole new unit, he didn't end up charging us for the initial diagnostic. He worked with my husband's and my schedule to come and replace it, and he was able to come on a Saturday, which was so nice. He even came the next day (Sunday) for about an hour and a half so that he could test everything and finish some last-minute details. He did everything on his own, and it took him a day to install. He walked us through everything he had to do, and when done, he was also able to haul away our old unit. He was able to provide our HOA the required insurance docs and also the specs for the AC unit, AND he worked with the Village of Schaumburg to get the required permits. Overall, he did an amazing job, and our house feels so comfortable again. The new unit is much more energy efficient than our old one, and we even have a 10-year warranty on the unit. We will continue to call Elvis for any and all questions or repairs.

This review is loooong overdue but I just came across my notes on this fiasco so better late than…read morenever. In May of 2022 I contacted Elite hvac because my AC was not working. The first day (Wed) Frank showed up but he was not able to fix it so he said he could come back the next day. He came back the next day (Thurs) hours after he said he would be there and he still couldn't fix it. He came back a third day (Fri) but he didn't even tell me when he arrived I just knew bc I saw he had set up his ladder and then after awhile I go check on him and he's gone, didn't tell me when he arrived and didn't tell me he was leaving. I called the company and they reached out to see where he was and he said he had left to another job but that he would come back and finish. Later this same day on Friday I get a text saying someone else was going to come the next morning. I had not been informed of this before the text so I was not able to be home as I had plans. Frank then texts me on Saturday saying he has all the parts he needs now and was heading over to fix it. I have no idea what he did that day as I was not home. Then I get a text Saturday night that Frank was going to come on Monday (again I never agreed to this date). So I wasn't there Monday but I know Frank did show up bc when I got home later that day my fuse box was out and he didn't even tell me! Luckily I don't recall my food or anything going bad even tho it was super hot out. That was Monday when the fuse box went out. Then on FRIDAY I get a text from Frank telling me that my AC should be up and running and that oh by the way my breaker tried. DAYS later he lets me know that my breaker tripped. So at this point it had been over 1 week since he started working on my AC and it was still not working. So then Wednesday (2 weeks after the initial appointment) they finally sent a different person, Raul. He got there on time and started everything from the beginning. He fixed it within minutes and even waited awhile to make sure it actually cooled. He also took my payment for the part that Frank had "fixed". I'm convinced I probably didn't even need the part but at this point they had been out there like 6 times so they probably didn't want to back track. Then five days later my AC stopped working again and this time the owner Juan was able to come out the next day and fix it quick. He said it was a loose wire. So all in all it took 3 weeks with Elite to get my AC working again. Glad Raul and Juan were able to fix it promptly the times they did go out instead of Frank but not a great overall experience on my end.
