I also appreciated his commitment to lifelong learning, being excited to work on a problem he hadn't seen before, which turned out to be a physically melted wire on the hard drive itself that was probably caused by a dust particle shorting it out. I don't think other computer repair places could have diagnosed and fixed my issue as quickly, and would have probably just given me the "you're better off just buying a new computer" line. For the amount of additional painstaking work of saving some of my files the total bill was very reasonable. My only regret that time was buying the additional RAM space he offered to put in while the computer was disassembled, which as far as I have noticed has only speeded up the boot up. If you already are pretty happy with your computer speed then save 60 bucks and skip this option. Two weeks later an internal cable gave out. Again he came to the fast and reasonable rescue and was able to improvise.

The Geek Squad advisor said I needed a different charger and directed me to a salesperson who said I should get a cord with different port adapters ($59). Fast forward ~2 hours later when I realize that NONE of the adapters fit my laptop. I was SO frustrated about having to go back and get another charger. When I returned and explained the problem, i immediately went from being frustrated to relieved thanks to the extremely empathetic and knowledgeable sales person. He understood my frustration of not being able to have a working laptop for school and quickly realized that I was given that charger by mistake. Though he was certain they had the correct charger, he checked in with one of the service advisors to ensure it was available AND worked properly. Since the correct charger cost less than the one I had initially purchased, not only did they do a return exchange but also refunded me $30 back! Most importantly, the charger works and I don't have to worry about my computer dying when I'm trying to study or take an exam. Thank you Best Buy for helping me and ensuring that my computer dying is not one of my many grad school worries! While I hope I don't have to come back in the near future (as my charger will work properly), I know where they are and that they will take care of any problem I run into with my computer.
