I generally am not one to post negative reviews however my experience at VY nails was awful. My husband and I came in on a Tuesday for manicures and pedicures. Once we were finally set for our pedicures, we heard the owner or what we perceived as the owner or manager tell our technicians that they needed to hurry since they had a party of five coming in at 11 both of our technicians did great pedicures in the limited amount of time they were given. After I sat down for my liquid gel manicure at which time I felt very rushed however, I was generally overall happy with the service fast-forward to the following Sunday less than a week after my nails were done one of my nails broke I went in the following day to have the nail fixed. I was willing to pay to have it fixed as I again generally liked my nails, however the technician who attempted to repair my nail told me how old school and how I should not do liquid gel and I should've done dip instead. The problem is I like liquid gel and if I'm paying over $80 for a manicure I'm going to get what I want. Today another nail broke, again less than one week after my initial appointment. Considering me and my husband spent over $300 at this establishment and less than a week my nails are falling off would highly recommend that you go to another nail salon in the area as there are many to choose from. read more

I have gone to Vy nails for a few years and always get a gel manicure, and their list shows $35 and that is what I paid. Today I went in for a mani and when it was time to polish my nails, I decided to "try"a dip. I knew it would be more $ and when it was time to pay, she told me $55 plus $10. I asked what the $10 was for. It was for her shaping my nails and cutting the cuticles. Wasn't this included in my $55 dip? NO. The girl there told me that shaping nails was not included in dip. I said What? For dip nails, you do not do a manicure? She said NO. It's for the powder. I feel like I was taken advantage of. Maybe time to find a new nail salon. I will be rethinking this salon after this incident. read more

I went to VY a few times. I saw Medina at first but her shaping wasn't good and she'd miss the sides of my nails on my manicure. But because I like how clean the salon is, I went back today and tried a new lady. Lisa did my gel pedi and mani today. She did an awesome job. Her shaping and polishing is great. I recommend seeing Lisa. I'm very pleased with my pedi and mani. She works only on weekends so book your appointment for then. Give her a shot, she's great! UPDATE: it's been 10 days since I got my gel manicure with Lisa. I moved and did a lot with my hands this past week and a half. The polish is perfectly intact still. Worse service today at VY nails. I made an appt and still waited 20 min. After sitting down I showed the picture of why I wanted to the tech. He proceeded to tell me they couldn't do that. He rushed through the full set and left many spots on my nails blank. He didn't file nails so they are all uneven and different lengths and have nail polish hardened all around them. The right side of my hand wasn't dried, I let the front desk know as I sat and waited for my pedicure tech. She never did anything bout it. I let the pedicure tech know she tried to fix the right hand but only made it worse because now the clear coat is all uneven and the nails are not flat. I asked to speak to the manager before paying and she never came up to see the issues for herself. Only gave a 20% discount. Probably the worse service ever. Will not return. read more

I've been to Vy nails multiple times over the past few years, never again. I left this salon being embarrassed with cheap ass nails WHERE MY NAIL CHIPPED AFTER TWO DAYS!!!! Went to this salon to have a full set put on and a gel pedicure. When I arrived, the tech that took me rushed the entire time. He put the tips on and acrylic within an hour (which isn't a lot of time at all) some of the tips were on crooked, and I asked him to make the acrylic thinner. Not only that, but he out the acrylic too far over to where it was attached to my skin (see photos below) I asked him to thin out the acrylic and he said that's how it's supposed to look. I'm not sure if he thought I've never has nails before, but he treated me like o was so stupid. I didn't say anything at first because I'm a passive person and I've been to Vy before and never had nails done THAT bad. When I was getting my pedicure. I was getting more frustrated due to the shitty application on my nails. When I went to pay o asked for them to redo it, and the tech started yelling and said that he didn't want to redo my nails and to take it off his tab. I've never had such an embarrassing experience as a customer, and I do not recommend coming here regularly. ALSO, pictures are from the first day (you can see the salon in the background) , and within a week two nails fell off and three are lifting, as well as the polish. This business focuses on using cheap materials, and dirty tools. They're not worth your money. I found a local tech who's independent. Her nails are higher quality products for the same price . Not worth your money. Do not come here. Again, Im not the type of person to make bad reviews unless necessary. read more

Very disappointed. It started with Tony using a drill to file off my nail polish. It was not gel polish. Then another lady came over and while Tony was working on one hand she was working on the other hand, both of them rushing to get the job completed. They put polish on so thick without time in between to dry that even after two hours it was still smudging. In the course of being there I got switched to a third person for my pedicure, no complaints there except for the fact of lack of consistency. I've been here multiple times and it just seems to keep going downhill. This time they've lost my business. read more

I get that I'm a guy and not prepared to pay 40 or $50 for a full set of acrylic nails like my wife but I do like to get manicures on a regular basis because it helps me from biting my nails. These guys couldn't get rid of me fast enough. It was like a wham-bam thank-you sir and I was done. My manicure was horrible and the lady made me bleed around my cuticles. My wife was getting one of her nails repaired because her nail accidentally cracked. A gentleman fixed her one cracked nail with NO CHARGE. Very awesome friendly guy. That was very generous of him to not charge us to repair the one nail. From what I saw all employees were working hard. Seating for the wait was comfortable. My wife goes here and every time she leaves she's happy with the work that they performed on her figure nails and toe nails. When she is happy I am happy. I went here right before Christmas because my regular nail salon was booked all day. This place was crazy packed but decided to give it a try due to decent reviews. A younger guy did my pedi deluxe and did a seemingly good job until he said we needed to go start on my nails then come back and finish my pedi. Odd but okay. He did a pretty good job on my coffin nails and left thinking I liked them. I got home and my right big toe was already chipping. Over the course of the next few days which was Christmas, my nails and other toes all started chipping too. This was only days after getting them done. And I had gel. I went in to see about them fixing them or a discount and the manager was rude, offering no resolution to do the right thing or keep me as a customer. I've had my nails and a pedi done for 20 years, every 2-4 weeks and never had such a bad experience anywhere in my many travels or regular salons. DO NOT RECOMMEND! read more

I went in for an acrylic fill because someone I know recommended Paul at VY Nails. He talked me into the dip nails but I didn't realize how much more expensive it is until I went up to pay. It was $78 before I added the tips. I normally pay $36 for an acrylic fill & pedicure at my previous nail salon but my regular tech left and I didn't care for the way somebody else did my nails there so I thought I would try VY nails. I don't know why nails techs keep saying the dip stuff is way better for your nails when it has to be soaked off with acetone each time you need them done. That can't be good for your nails or the skin around them. Anyway, I told Paul I wanted my nails square with rounded edges. Instead he filed them way down on the sides, almost like a modified coffin look. I now have hangnails like crazy from the way he filed. His mother did my pedicure which was nothing special. She barely touched my cuticles and spend 10 seconds on rough spots with the pumice stone. The only positive about this place it seems to be clean, they use plastic liners in the pedicure sinks and the pumice stone is only used once. But I doubt I will be back between the price and Paul giving me the opposite nail shape that I wanted. Some men just don't listen. read more

So I broke my big toe nail about 9 months ago and this is the first time I've gotten my nails done since. Viet did my toes and he did an amazing job tending to that nail and painting my toes the way I like them. Zach did my hand finger nails and since I've been biting my nails, they were ruined before. I loved it! Paul did my nails and he made sure it was what I wanted. I believe it was his mom who did my pedicure and she definitely pampered me. I enjoyed it 100% and I didn't feel rushed, or that it took forever. If there's anything I don't absolutely love about my nails, it would be because I didn't speak up. I would not even give one star to this nail salon. I am very picky about getting pedicures. I only would go to ones with liners. This place has liners, but obviously they didn't clean their tools properly. I had an appointment with a lady that did a great job. One morning I went, and was told that she didn't come to work. Instead of missing my appointment I went with someone else. Afterwards my big toe was really hurting around the skin. It continued , and started to look like a problem along the nail bed. I went to a podiatrist, and I had a mild toe fungus, and infection underneath my nail bed. Lesson learned!!! Never again! read more

I went today for the first time and they were nice enough to squeeze me in for a full set. The girl doing my nails made them too thick and took a very long time. When it came to the design the girl had absolutely no clue how to do marble and tried 4 times, after I told her she can do something else to them. I also got a pedicure and it lasted all of 10 minutes. In the end the owner was nice enough to do redo the marble for me, but it still did not come out very well at all, doing so he cut all my nail beds with the nail file. I walked into this place and told the receptionist "I want a clear acrylic fill on my nails, and a full set of clear acrylic on my toes". She seemed to understand because we had a conversation about how many people get acrylic on the toes. So it comforted me because I hate my feet. Fine. 10 mins later they came and sat me at a pedicure chair, and since I've never been here before I don't know what their process is. I sat in the water for 34 minutes until someone asked me what I wanted. The lady seemed to be confused when I said "No, no clear varnish, I want clear acrylic." She lifted another bottle of clear varnish and I was getting frustrated. No, not the varnish. She made the manager come over and talk to me, and he goes, "You said pedicure and clear polish" so I deny that claim and repeat myself again, "No, I said clear acrylic SET". And he started to get very loud and everyone was looking at me like I was ridiculous and he points out how it might not even work because 1) my toe nails were not long, and 2) I didn't know how long I wanted the acrylic to be. I started to cry because of all the attention I was getting and didn't want. I was taken away from pedicure chair and placed in regular acrylic station with a man who is rubbing my toes raw and is very rough. I will never come here again- I am completely mortified. Ck Nails or Signature Nails in the Cape are much better choices for the area. read more
