This was only my second Pilates class ever, so I had no idea what I was walking into. Turns out I walked into the abs and glutes class of all abs and glutes classes. Lauren is tough -- but the kind of tough that keeps you going because she makes it fun and challenging at the same time. I wanted to quit and keep going all at once, which I think means she's doing something right. Beyond the workout itself, the studio was spotless, the energy in a full class was great, and the music kept the vibe going the whole time. Really impressive first experience here. I'll be back -- once my abs recover. Highly recommend if you're looking for a studio that actually pushes you.

I arrived about five minutes late to class and realized there was an issue with my ClassPass booking. I completely understood the situation and even offered to pay on the spot or after class since there was still space available. What was unacceptable was how it was handled. I was asked to leave in a very dismissive and public way, with the instructor opening the door and signaling for me to get out in front of the entire class. It felt degrading and completely unnecessary. This wasn't about policy-I respect policies. It was about the way a paying, returning client was treated. I also followed up via email and never received a response, which only adds to the disappointment. There is a way to enforce rules while still treating people with respect. Unfortunately, that was not the case here.

Of all the classes I've been trying, this one definitely makes me sweat the most. You know you got a great workout in when your clothes are soaked when you're done. The combination of cardio and strength training is great. We always start with a lap or two to get the heart rate pumping. I usually like cardio in between strength training because it's a breather and a break for my tiny muscles (I'm super weak), but the sprints we did today were no break. This is definitely a great workout for losing weight and getting muscular shape. It's good for all levels, too, which I think is important to note. For example, if they want you to do a series of exercises with x reps in y time, and you're starting in weaker and slower than the others (like me) it just means sometimes you may not finish as many sets as they do. C'est la vie.. we'll get there! I do wish it wasn't so hard on joints though.. that is definitely something to beware of if you have injuries. Make sure to bring them up before class or ask for an alternate option if you know there's an exercise that will further aggravate your injury. Just bought my husband a 2-month membership.. Can't wait to see him suffer along with me! ;)

I got my sister to go for the second class I took and am trying to convince my husband to start going on a regular basis. I even inquired about the price if I choose to take extra classes beyond my monthly allowance on ClassPass. Why all this excitement? I want to lose weight and I think that anyone who wants to lose weight should definitely try this class out. Ed's Boot Camp is a great workout - that cannot be disputed. There is running, strength training, core work, etc in each day. - it's a full body workout. Each class is different so you don't get bored, but they all focus on all around body. The people are all really nice and everyone kind of goes at their own pace, so it's great for all levels. To me, Ed's Boot Camp is very similar to RedZone Fitness with a few exceptions (i.e., you don't get the fancy heart rate tracker, the place where classes are held is not as nice looking/clean and it lasts slightly longer). Since I burn 400 to 500 calories per class at RedZone, I'm pretty sure that I'm burning about the same or more at Ed's Boot Camp, since I'm keeping the heart rate up through most of the class. At the end of class at Ed's Boot Camp there are like 10 minutes of core work, where you start to slow down, which accounts for the additional time (in comparison to RedZone). I deducted stars for a few reasons: (1) I'm not a huge fan of the fact that we are running around a parking lot where people are pulling in and out, (2) the gym where we go for the inside portions of the workouts has a filthy floor (you can feel the grit on your hands), (3) I learned the hard way that this type of workout is prone to cause injury. After going a few times I stepped somewhere that wasn't flat and hurt my ankle, requiring that I lay off of running for a few weeks. Someone else I know hurt their knee while they were there. As a result, even though I thought it was a good workout, I decided to stick with indoor gyms where I can run on the treadmill.

Class is an hour and a half.. longer than any other class I've tried with ClassPass. Cedric is great; very nice, motivating, and helpful. The class was awesome, and was good for all levels. I wasn't too sure what to expect, but it was like bootcamp with boxing. I think this is the best workout I've tried yet. The way Cedric changes up the routine throughout the class keeps you motivated to keep going, between fundamental boxing moves with weights in hand, to cardio, drills, kettle bells, jump rope, punching a bag, etc. etc. I recommend bringing a pair of your own gloves right away rather than borrowing a communal pair. You can find them on Amazon for around $20. The boxing gym in Tropical Park has a water fountain which is nice in case you forget your own drink, and they sell Powerade there also.

I signed up through ClassPass and purchased my gloves on Amazon Prime the day prior to class. I got lost in Tropical Park trying to find the place but then I realized I'd driven right by the sign for it. Granted, the sign is small, so you really need to keep a look out. The class takes place inside a building that is located in Tropical Park - about half way between Miller and Bird. The building is behind a large parking lot along the main thoroughfare in Tropical Park. Cedric is really nice and was willing to explain things more than once if it became necessary to understand what he wanted us to do. He gave us different sets of exercises in a boot camp fashion. He then showed us boxing moves and had us practice them using hand weights, so that we continued to get a workout while we learned the moves. We put on our gloves and moved to the punching bags for a few minutes - just long enough to get out any frustrations you have. Cedric stayed nearby to correct movements in an effort to teach us proper boxing technique. Overall, I thought it was a great workout targeting all the different areas of the body and a great intro course for boxing.

And when it comes to that workout, my Lord Jesus, Carlos did not mess around. I absolutely LOVED it! The 50 minutes goes by in no time. They also have a cold plunge and sauna and they have showers (bring your own towel). The one thing that stood out to me besides the incredible workout, was the community. Everyone was so nice and helpful and I didn't overwhelmed, but I felt supported. Carlos did a great job being observant enough to correct me when only God knows what in the world I was doing. lol! It was a really nice spot and I loved the fact that they offer a one week trial before you commit. The smoothie and snack bar was a nice treat at the end. Adrien, made me a protein shake that filled my stomach and renewed my energy. This is a place to definitely get in a workout in a warm and welcoming community. Bonus points; they're not afraid to share their faith and I absolutely love that! I love being a Christian and it was cool to see that displayed. Support local and enjoy!

The facility is packed with many different obstacles you can imagine from classic Spartan race setups like monkey bars, ropes, wall balls, Z wall, Olympus, and rings to unique challenges that keep your training fresh and effective. Robert and Luke lead top notch workouts that push you to your limits while focusing on technique along with strength using both your body and weights. The variety here is incredible; beyond obstacle training, they offer yoga classes with Nichole, making it so much more than just another gym. I'm currently training for the Deka Atlas event coming up, and I'm thrilled that Sakz Fit will soon be hosting Deka events themselves, which is a game changer for local athletes. The gym also offers plenty of parking, which is a huge plus in Miami, and after workouts, you can enjoy refreshing Fit Aid drinks and plenty of spots to relax for recovery. My daughters loved attending and made lots of friends. There IS a lot of emphasis on the annual show, but that's what the majority of parents wanted. Moms camped out (including me) to get the best seats as soon as tickets went on sale. The complainers have no idea what it takes, or the costs to put on a huge production. The shows were very professional, though long due to the number of participants. I did think the costumes were pricey BUT you have to realize they needed to find the costume companies with a big size selection as you would see they needed 20 or sometimes more of the same costumes to fit kids of all (and I mean ALL) sizes. Ms Rose also put a lot of thought into finding costumes that fit each group and embarrassed none of the dancers. And with so many kids participating, no one really wants to see your kids for more than 3 minutes or the show would go on forever. If disappointed by your kid's short performance, you could just sign them up for 2 classes next time or buy the video and watch them perform over and over. The instructors are great and I was always amazed at how professional the choreography looked. My only complaint was in the last year I had to pull my daughters out after their dance act to catch a flight. Ms. Rose runs a very tight ship and originally said no, until I showed her our plane tickets. Then of course she was reasonable. The wait backstage for the kids on performance day was long, but they got treats and were well supervised and were with their friends, and a wait backstage is truly just part of a dancer's life. It taught discipline and was only once a year. My kids were lucky to have such an experience and have even seen some of their teachers on So You Think You Can Dance. And if your kids stick with it for 5 years, they get a very nice trophy.
