I mean we both have rhythm and love dancing together but I really wanted to learn structured partner dancing. We tried out different styles and loved it! This Arthur Murray location is a top-notch experience when it comes to dance classes and a dance school. All of the instructors are super nice and very knowledgeable. Most are exceptional dance teachers. The owners of this location are also very involved and ensure that it is a quality experience and a well-run business. Everyone involved in the business loves dancing and it shows. Students are able to learn any kind of dance they want. Merengue, Salsa, Bachata, Rumba, Tango, Foxtrot, Waltz, Swing, and more are all offered. The location for Arthur Murray of Coral Gables is excellent and in downtown Coral Gables. Paid street parking is pretty easy to find. The studio is well decorated and very amendable to having a few or more classes at the same time, plus larger group classes. You might be able to pay less for dance classes elsewhere but you won't receive better coaching or teaching anywhere else. All in all my experience was very positive. read more

I walked up the stairs to this iconic dance studio in the heart of Coral Gables just a year ago. I wanted to purchase a gift certificate as a birthday gift. I started classes myself that day!!The group classes are fun and easy to follow and the private classes are tailored just for you. They have group classes 6 days a week so plenty opportunities to choose from or come to all as I am doing! There is always something to look forward with the many special events and parties they schedule trough out the year. My dad has no rhythm when it comes to music, so as a birthday present I am taking dance lessons with my mom. It's not so bad now that we got started, the studio is pretty nice, the instructors are friendly and knowledgeable. They have evening group lessons, and dance sessions (parties) weekly. I've been wanting to go to Arthur Murray for years and I finally had a chance to experience it! I took the one free lesson and it was instant love. Everyone there is so nice and the environment is very friendly, and I'm not talking about just the instructors, the students there too! They have special occasions and do attend to dance competitions. My friend is a student there, who's now in the silver level (so proud!), and she recommended me. I'm delighted and so happy to have accepted the request. Arthur Murray is one of those places that when you pass by, you see people dancing on the 2nd floor with the big open windows, and wish you were there dancing with them. I've always had a passion for music and dance. I took ballet for 5 years when I was younger. So, now I'm retaking my steps into dancing again and Arthur Murray is, so far, one of the best! This is a fun place to learn to dance. The teachers, the music, the other students all combine to make a great atmosphere that never fails to put a smile on my face. It's a nice way to relax after work. The first lesson is free, so you have nothing to lose if you are looking for a healthy hobby. I dinged the place one star because the manager, Bryan, takes his job a little too seriously and killed my buzz once or twice. He is like the tough football coach you had as a kid who knew that discipline is the key to winning the championship. But we are adults now and just want to have a good time. Overall, I'm still a fan and would recommend the studio to a friend. Tip: bring some change for the parking meters. read more

Arthur Murray is not quite the way it used to be .Things seemed to make a change when they brought back staff members from before ,but now it is all the same .What's going on with Management /Owners?I remember Athur Murray as place where you were able to forgt about work ,meet friends and just have fun ,aside from learning of course .I was actually prooud to bring my friends over and show the studio and the excellent cotumer service given to students .It used to be a luxury studio ,now it's a run down studio .The floors are all scratched and squeaky .There have been multiple times when i have tripped while dancing .The furniture is dirty and old ,the restrooms are not well kept .There used to be proper napkins ,now you get dollar store paper .The hand soap just the same .The practice theme parties aren't really parties when only the staff is there and the theme is poorly done or presented .It almost feels as last minute decorating and effortless .No espresso's offered anymore when you walked in the door .Graduation is even worse .You do charge luxury prices but you are no longer a luxury studio .Owners need to look closer and maybe hire the proper assistance with planning and coordinating .It's embarrassing ,i no longer invite my guests to the studio .No one in group class either :( I love Arthur Murray and would like to continue attending and letting my friends know about it but not like the way it is going .If you care about your studio and student's please adjust and make changes . Six years ago, my wife and I moved to Miami from Philadelphia. I knew that if we were going to go out dancing in Miami, we needed to learn to dance salsa. I came to the AMCG studio (knowing nothing about ballroom dancing) and signed up for weekly salsa lessons. My first lesson was spent trying to help me find "the one beat"--that's how ill-equipped I was for latin dancing (unlike my more rhythmic wife). While at the studio, I saw students and teachers dancing all kinds of other latin dances (e.g., cha cha, rhumba, mambo, meringue) and soon started learning those as well. I even started competing (with my teachers as my partner), and discovered that I loved it. Dancing had become my new hobby, and what a great hobby it is, combining so many benefits-- exercise; joint flexibility, balance; musicality; and mental, physical and emotional challenges. Best of all, it's fun. I really like the staff at AMCG--teachers, administrative staff and managers. They have a variety of programs to accommodate different interests and learning styles. They offer evening group classes and parties, as well as private lessons in every style of ballroom and latin dancing. I have taken advantage of these opportunities to expanded my dancing to include ballroom dances as well as latin. I am looking forward to many more years of dancing and competing, and now, with the new studio ownership, participating in international competitions in Europe and elsewhere. read more

The teachers are outstanding; not only are they skilled in their profession as dancers, they are excellent teachers who have the ability to make the student comfortable and feel that they can succeed in meeting their goals. For new students, the staff are warm and welcoming; you become part of the Arthur Murray Coral Gables family. When you are preparing for a recital or learning a new dance or complicated step, the teachers encourage you to be tenacious and to practice the new steps and they keep smiling as do the students. I am now 45 years old and on my birthday this May, I decided that I wasn't going to continue to put off this bucket list item any longer. I really love to dance!!! Life is not a spectator sport for me and I so much love watching my daughter dance (she competes with the most amazing dance company in Miami, STARS!) that I wanted to do this myself. I am having so much fun and learning so much in the process. The teachers are a blast and I really feel like I am on Dancing with the Stars (first episode,LOL). Seriously, dancing is like yoga and exercising for me. It is a such a stress releaser, plus it is very motivating to see how quickly you can improve with just a few lessons. Every class, you get better and you build. I can't wait until I get good! I am actually learning a beautiful choreography with Roberto (love him!) for the Holiday show & I feel like a little kid! So fun! I even practice at home with my daughter so that I don't become the comedy act when they go see me perform it in December. I want to mention that I work full time in a challenging career and am busy writing my book/blog as well as enjoying my three kids & amazing husband. I DO find the time to DANCE @ ARTHUR MURRAY and it makes my day. They always have something fun going on (theme parties, shows, etc.) and they are very flexible with scheduling and letting you choose & master your favorite dance genres. After 30 years of marriage I decided to surprise my wife so without telling her I called Arthur Murray Dance Studios in Coral Gables and I asked "can you work with someone that has two left feet." The young lady on the other end laughed and said "that's our specialty." So knowing how much my wife enjoys life, I knew she was going to be all in with dance lessons. Now I must confess I was scared but we made it to our first appointment. There we were told how the program works and since we both love Sinatra, Dean, and all the Rat Pack we selected the Foxtrot and we were introduced to Edgar our instructor. It took Edgar about ten minutes to make me feel comfortable even though I had no idea what do to. This young man and all of the instructors there are very professional and are blessed with an abundance of patience. They truly enjoy there profession and truly enjoy watching you progress. My wife and I are having a blast at the studio and when we practice at home and remember the exercise is also great. So I strongly recommend to everyone regardless of age (I'm 63) to get up and dance and if you too have two left feet this is the place for you. My only regret is that I did not do this 20 years ago. read more
